An Epic Salon assisted and directed in the development of a great new haircut. The staff was friendly, and great conversation. It wasn’t as stiff as a «great clips», but kept a professionalism that made me feel confident that they’d do a good job. I’m definitely going back to this place, and appreciate the time and effort they put into my new cut…

I had a great experience getting my haircut by Rich. Definitely would recommend him and Epic Salon as a hair-​cutting destination for men in Reno, NV.

Moved from the Bay Area in California just recently where you can find a pretty good barber easily and an exceptional barber with just a little effort. I was pretty nervous coming to Reno and finding a barber who would continue that experience, especially after reading reviews at other barber shops.
Rich knows what he’s doing here and is a great guy all around. The moment you’re greeted here it is an awesome, laid back, and extremely friendly atmosphere –especially by Rich. He’s probably one of the few true men’s barbers in Reno with a solid background for cutting men’s hair from his days in California. I wanted my short, edgy comb-​over back and that’s exactly what I got. Sometimes communicating what you need with a barber is difficult, but that’s not the case here. Right off the bat Rich was able to expand on specific things I wanted out of my hair without me having to ask.
Definitely will be my go-​to from now on.

I’ll go with 5 stars for Richie squeezing Cory in this Saturday. The salon itself has some run-​down bits (the heat chairs are fabric and pretty stained up for instance). They have it fairly hip with lime green accents against a neutral, but contrasting dark grey background. As well as a Keurig coffee station set up on the front waiting area. I called on Saturday, after we had attempted to find a plain barber shop, all of them were booked and had 2 – 3 hour waits on the walk in only ones. So we started calling salons next. The front desk gal, was super friendly and took the time to ask around about squeezing us in, offering to call if they had a cancellation.
Cory showed Richie a picture of what he wanted to try (recently he has been branching out). I was happy Cory got the full «salon» experience with the hair washing (the best reason to get your hair done), even the hot towel facial thing. (At supercuts it is spray down the hair cut and done for like $ 20 with tip). In the end Cory was happy, even though the styling was not so much his style, it was fun to try for an evening and Cory said he would definitely come back.
For a men’s haircut it was $ 25 without tip, which is a great price for a last minute appointment request.

My 15 years old daughter decided to go by herself and try this place base on Unilocal reviews… great! !! I like her decision. …what a surprise when I when to pick her up… terrible job done… (see the pictures) I when inside to talk the the owner… (Stephanie Arredondo) I asked: Does this hair cut looks ok? Referring to my daughter’s hair… she said «terrible job» «who did it? My daughter said: «Meg did it» then the owner said we will fix it right now… they ask for second chance which I was not please to give… but my daughter was OK Giving a second chance… even when Meg said: «I am sorry I did cut you in the back of your neck… I know I need a new clippers» (terrible comment) 10 mins after the hair cut was the same… terrible job done… unbelievable. .I asked for my daughter’s money refund ($ 45 plus $ 5 tip = $ 50 total) …since I was going to take her somewhere else to get the hair cut fix… they said «I am sorry we don’t do refund since we think we did not do anything wrong… I tough… let’s just leave. I am very disappointed of this place… but new clients don’t worry… I am calling the consumer affairs, the place the issues their license to go check them up and public health just in case anything is out of order… then they will be back on track again… my daughter’s hair will grow back but my trust for this place will not …

An Epic Salon is probably the most fitting salon name ever! I’m a fan! Sadie did an awesome job on my hair. Everyone was super nice.
They have complimentary booze, they fir me in on Sunday which is perfect! so, yay to that.
The salon is adorable! I can’t wait for my next hair appointment!

I would give this 5 stars but I feel that since it was my first trip there I should provide an honest review. If my experience is similar the next time I got I will be sure to update my review.
I needed a good barber for a long time and have terrible cotton candy hair with 4 cowlicks. I mentioned to Richie that I have either buzzed my head to worn hats for a long time, needless to say a blank canvas. He took his time and offered a solution and a new direction for my hair if I wanted to try it. A person who is an artist at their craft really shines when they can be creative but also knowing their subject mater, Needless to say I am extremely happy with my cut and I will be back again.

They have an online booking system that sends text message reminders.
The staff was friendly and polite.
He has an old school barber chair — not that it matters but it feels right.
He listened to my needs!

Any place that greets me with free booze is already winning in my book. But this salon goes above and beyond and is worth every penny. Jess keeps my brows on point, and if you’re looking for the latest in fashion color, book with Meg Baker like yesterday. She’s literally the only stylist I trust to do my hair, and I’ve been going to her since 2013. The online booking is wicked convenient and gives you a wide range of options. Book an appointment, you won’t be disappointed.

I can’t say enough about how amazing An Epic salon is. The staff are friendly and talented. Stephanie, the owner, is the best stylist in Reno. She can make you look like you just stepped off a runway. Hip, laid back and conveniently located. Truly EPIC. I live this place!

Love getting my nails done by Marti. She always does what I want and I always get lots of compliments on my nails. It’s always clean, organized and comfy!

Richie is fantastic!!! He did an amazing job on my hubbs hair… we have been to several salons in town since we moved from LA and this IS it! Rich spent time to perfect the cut as opposed to a barber that just zips off your hair into the «gentleman hipster» cut that they like. Rich even let us drop in the next day and get a lesson on how made it look so sharp bc my husband couldn’t figure it out when he got home (and it was super easy)!! Love the cut, thanks again!!!

I love, love, LOVE An Epic Salon! The staff is always friendly, the salon is funky & charming, and the stylists are legit! Ridiculous amounts of creative talent in here.
After a few years of increasingly bad «mom hair» cuts, I sought out a cut from the owner Steph after seeing pics here on Unilocal.She is a genius. A mad, sultry, tatted genius. Buh bye, bad mom ‘do! I brought a few pics of styles I liked, she took the time to talk to me to clarify the look I was going for, and boom! Nailed it!
Just had my 3^rd cut from her, and I love it as much as the first. Still gives me the same attention to detail, changes it up just as I request, and gave me another edgy, fun cut that works & styles well with my fine hair… making me look, and thus feel, totally amazeballs!

I recently moved from LA to Susanville and was looking for a salon to get my hair done before my wedding. Noni colored my hair and I love it!!! I had streaky highlights before that I hated. She blended it all and now it looks more natural. I will def be going back after my wedding for a cut and touch up!

You must go see Kelly! She listens to exactly what I want and I get a great haircut every time. My sister went blonde (natural color is brown) and her hair looks GREAT. I can’t recommend her enough!

Stephanie, the owner and brilliant stylist, made me look amazing today and that is hard to do! We talked about how long I’ve been going to her. We think it might be 10 years. I would go to no other.

One of the first things I look for when I move to a new place is finding the right hairstylist. Well, I found An Epic Salon through Unilocal and decided to try it out.
I’ve been coming here since then.
It’s all thanks to Rich, an old-​school trained, easygoing barber and stylist, who knows how to do anything from classic to modern. I mean, this is the man who used to cut Gavin Newsom’s hair back when he was in SF!
One particular thing about his style is that you’re supposed to trust him all the way, evidenced by the fact that during the whole haircut he turns your chair to face the opposite way from the mirror. You only find out how what your new mop looks like until the end. And that trust has always led to a happy customer, because, as I said before, he knows his stuff.
The salon’s got a hip look with a cool staff, and is conveniently located in midtown with a small parking lot next to it.

I wanted to really like this salon because it had such positive reviews on Unilocal.What a disappointment! I gave this salon 4 tries, getting my hair cut each time, hoping the last sub par experience was just a fluke. Unfortunately, I will never go back. I saw three different stylists. The first one quit (accused of stealing), the second one left, and the third one I saw was new and seemed to be heavily medicated. The haircuts I received were sloppy, never the length I asked for (even after a second request for shorter) and not finished well or checked. What pushed me over the edge was that the stylists bad-​mouth each other to and in in front of clients. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable to me!
Communication is also a challenge with this place. No one answers the phone (fine I understand not having a receptionist on during ‘slow’ times) so they ask you to use the online system. The online system is terrible– it gave me an already booked appointment and of course I was not notified by the salon until right before the appointment.
It is NOT trendy and hip by any means. This salon has suburban quality haircuts at urban prices.

From a guy’s perspective: This is a good salon for guys to get their haircut for a good value at a step above franchise haircutters. With some tweaks, it could be better. I went here for several months always going to the same stylist for a men’s haircut. I always left pleased with my haircut and the value for a haircut that also includes a shampoo. One plus is they also offer different drinks for free at the front desk like coffee and tea. I don’t know if it’s because I mainly went on weekday afternoons or not, but the place was always empty and it lacked the energy that some other salons have.
Unfortunately, the salon does not employ a front-​desk staffer so you are lucky to ever reach someone on the phone and even then they don’t always return messages left. My stylist left the salon for some undisclosed reason and nobody ever called me to notify me; my standing appointment was simply cancelled in the system and it required me to call and ask what happened to figure it out as I got no notification of the cancellation. I was annoyed so I chose to make an appointment at a different salon where I pay more but I’m happier now.

Cute boutique like salon, parking in the back, beverage service offered, and amazing service from hot tattooed ladies?! I’m totally in as a repeat client!
Noni doubled washed my hair, gave me beautiful long layers, thinned it out and then curled my hair all for $ 40. I look and feel fabulous! Sort of like how Ariel in The Little Mermaid feels when she’s up against that rock and the wind blows her hair back, yes my friends, I feel mermaid fabulous.
You’re a dude? No problem. $ 20 gets you a cut from these hot chicks or a nice barber who also does hot towel service.
