I went there yesterday. Mike was so awesome! Needed my car remote to work. Mike never gave up to help me get it working. Thank you great guy !!

2330 on a Friday night, locked my keys in the car. Knew it as soon as I shut the door! .Wife is out of town, house key on the key chain, and my dog is going crazy in the house… Yup, daddy’s outside looking like a dumbo. Called Alpine, talked to Dan Burdg and told my situation. He was very polite and comforting. He showed up 14 minutes later, even with my crappy directions I gave. Opened my door, got keys, and all was good! .Painless and a great experience! I feel very confident to call in the future, hopefully I won’t do this again anytime soon! …But I know and feel confident Danny and Alpine Lock and Key are there to help ²⁴⁄₇. Thanks again! My experience with Alpine was top of the line. Sean helped me through decision making on the size of safe & the kind of lock that would be best for our needs. It was ordered right away; it arrived in Reno exactly when they said it would; and it was delivered to my office at the exact time I was told it would be. An unusual experience these days. I couldn’t be more pleased.

I really like these guys! I needed to get replacement keys made for my car since the existing ones were worn and not opening the doors consistently. I was referred by my mechanic, who said «go see these guys. They’ll take good care of you». He was right!
My car has transponder keys that cost a mint if you get them from the dealership, or a lot less from eBay (always go eBay). While evaluating my key, they made a test copy before risking cutting on the blanks I brought them. I appreciated that caution. Even after cutting the keys, he checked that they both worked in all doors and the trunk before giving them to me. Very thorough job and great attitude. Highly recommended.

Love this place! They made my spare keys in a very short amount of time and are very quick with unlocking doors when you’re in a hurry and accidentally lock your keys in your car. 10 times out of 10 I would recommend this place

The best! I originally went here because they had the best prices on key fobs. I will keep coming back because they are good company that stands behinds its products. When the key fob they ordered me broke a few months later, they replaced it and didn’t give me a hard time about it at all.
Updated: the new key fob only lasted a month. I don’t know why they are so crappy. I had the original for years. I don’t know that I will be back for a new one.

I locked my keys in my car. I called alpine at 12pm. The nice lady on the phone said about 30 minutes and gave me a fair quote. The gentleman arrived quickly, opened my car, and had payment and receipt done by 12:25 pm. And it was even less than than quoted! Definitely will recommend.

I locked my key in the car and after checking Unilocal I found these guys to have the best reviews in my area, so I called them. It was late evening and I reached their voicemail and left a message. A few minutes later I got a call back from them and I was able to solve my problem. I wasn’t in a hurry and the guy said that if I schedule them to come out its a lot cheaper than paying after hours rates, and so I did. The guy came in the morning and took care of everything. Very professional. Very nice. Easy peasy. Call them!

If anyone ever needs keys locks or anything of that sort for your car or house Alpine Lock and Key Inc. is the bomb! The owner Rick Carroll is one great person to deal with! I had a chipped key and key fob made for a third of the price of the dealer!

I have found another business here in Reno where they truly are the best at what they do. The guys at Alpine helped me out with making some new keys for my truck today. I found the blank fobs online and just needed them cut and programmed to work with my truck. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. This really can be attributed to the owner working with me ahead of time chatting right here on Unilocal.I was able to get all the information so that when I got there the job was ready to be done. I wish I could remember the guy’s name that helped me (had some cool tats) but he was attentive, quick, and professional. My experience with these guys could not have gone any better than it did. For as long as I live in this area, Alpine is my go to locksmith. Thanks guys!

What a great company to use for gun safe moving. Fast, friendly, and safe was what they’re about and the prices were very reasonable. What took 4 movers to get my gun safe in from another moving company took 2 guys from Alpine to not only take out but move to my new house.

I bought a new house and wanted the locks rekeyed before I moved my stuff in. Not only did they offer the best rate of all the locksmiths I called, but they provided me with a same day service! He was very friendly and professional, not to mention super fast! He also helped me reset the garage door opener code and program the universal remotes. At the end, I expected to pay a little more because of the garage door help, but he ended up charging me for one less lock than I was quoted — saying consider it a housewarming gift! What a great company! I will definitely be using them for any future locksmith needs.

As large of a «town» as Reno is and the amount of places to choose from when it comes to anything can be overwhelming, however the guys at Alpine Lock and Key off Ryland are the best of the best! I won’t go into detail of what they did because I know they cannot do this for everyone but I will say, I will pay forward the kindness I received! They were sympathetic, patient and professional to my situation I walked away more impressed than I have ever been in my life! You guys earned a life long customer for sure!

Main Street USA is alive and well at Alpine Lock and Key.
What do I mean? Well, in small towns you could walk the Main Street and find everything you needed, products and services, and you probably knew all of the shop owners too. Shop owners legitimately cared for their customers, and made sure to take great care of each one, especially those frustrated, in a bit of distress, or the obviously new faces coming through their door. We all know the image of the mechanic walking out of the service station to help someone broke down on the highway or the inn keeper that offers the room and hospitality to the downtrodden traveller, and that’s what I’m talking about.
Well I was a new frustrated face when I walked into Alpine the first time. Id gone to three typical places to get a key copied in the last month only to come up empty handed each time. The thought occurred to me that visiting a locksmith would likely solve my problem. But who goes to a locksmith? To me, that’s a mobile service I call in a pinch. Brick and mortar? It was my only option.
I’d remembered Alpine as a recommendation from a friend and as a nice shop I passed all the time on Ryland. Timing finally worked out, and I had the key with me and remembered to stop by Alpine while in the area.
When I walked in I was surprised by all the retail goods they had, including safes, lock boxes, keychains and all kinds of hide-​a-​keys too. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but I can say that it exceeded whatever expectations I had, and I was really happy to be supporting this local business. Behind the counter the phones kept ringing, and you could see the pros coming from and going to jobs.
I was greeted, told the gentleman my issues, handed him the key, asked for 4 copies, and watched as he quickly grabbed the blanks, turned the keys, and handed them back to me. When I went to pay, he just said «Thank You».
I was blown away. This person legitimately just wanted to help me solve this problem I had, and now, any time I need a key or the like, I know where I’m heading. In fact I went back a month later and had a few more keys cut!
I know key blanks are really cheap, but I also know it takes a while to learn this trade, and time is money. I wanted to pay, but he just wanted to help. I won’t forget this experience or the way Alpine values their customers. It’s truly nice to know there are still kind hearted tradespeople out there that just want to help.

I have been getting keys made at Alpine Lock and Key for at least 10 years and they are always so reliable and friendly. Last month when I needed a locksmith suddenly they fit me into their busy schedule and did all the right things from when from installing longer screws in to cinch up the sagging door frame and changed out the incorrect striker plate and made it work better than new and they charged me fairly for their time and expertise.

Excellent customer service. Great prices. Friendly staff! I needed an extra chipped key for my son’s truck. There is no Mitsubishi dealer in Reno. They were recommended to me by a jeep dealership in Reno. I’m very pleased with their service!

We ordered a safe from Cabelas, and they informed us that they use Alpine Lock and Key for their main delivery service. I called in advance to find out how much they would charge us to deliver (in house) this safe. Most places will deliver to your curbside, but we wanted it put inside our home.
I got several quotes from other companies and this seemed to be the best deal. Patrick answered the phone on a Sunday and set up the delivery date for the very next morning.
They arrived on time, got the safe in our house without scratching or damaging our wood floors. They made sure we were satisfied before leaving, and gave us a card. It was James that came with a co worker to do the install of the safe.
James had a great attitude, and worked very hard. My wife was the one home when the delivery took place, and was very happy with the quick service. We would recommend Alpine lock and key to anyone in the future. Great job guys.
