Ainsworth Associates Mechanical Engineers, founded in 1952, is a professional corporation providing mechanical engineering services to Architects and directly to building owners for projects throughout Nevada and California.
The primary focus of the firm is the mechanical design of hospital and healthcare facilities, computer data centers, high-rise hotel/casinos, telecommunication centers, and education facilities. Projects encompass both new construction and renovation work.
The firm employs the latest technology in Building Information Modeling (BIM), computer-aided design, and project management. Utilizing state-of-the-art computers and software, we have the capability to quickly analyze any building type and select the most appropriate, cost effective mechanical system for the building being designed.
Our Green Design Services include LEED certification for new and existing buildings, Green Globes, Energy Star, Green Guides for Healthcare, and familiarity with IPD projects.
History
Established in 1952.
In 1952, Leonard Stecher started a mechanical engineering firm with Kenneth Ainsworth joining shortly after as Partner.
Stecher-Ainsworth was originally located on S Street in downtown Sacramento, California. For the first few years, a majority of the firm’s work was located in and around the Sacramento area. In 1956, the firm completed its first job in Reno, Nevada with the «Diagnostic, Treatment, and Surgical Addition to Washoe Medical Center,» known today as Renown Regional Medical Center.
The Firm continued to design mechanical systems for educational, healthcare, and other facilities throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada for the next several decades.
Kenneth Ainsworth retired in 1988, and Steve Miner and Steven Ainsworth ran the firm together. Steve Miner retired in 1997, and in 2000, David Ainsworth signed on as partner with Steven Ainsworth and the firm name became Ainsworth Associates Mechanical Engineers.
