Very friendly staff and great selection. Dillon is the man. Only place I’ve been to where the staff will pick out frames based on your preferences and bring them all to you and help you decide. I never felt pressured and after choosing a frame I decided to schedule an eye exam to renew my Rx. Dr Travis Adlington, who asked me to just call him Travis, is probably the coolest Doc I’ve ever met (and I work in healthcare). He was wearing jeans and cowboy boots and something about his demeanour and appearance was just so real and honest. This makes him very approachable. It was refreshing. You can tell he loves what he does. He went out of his way to address all of my questions/​concerns after I was informed my Rx had changed. After of which we ended up going off topic and discussing competitive horse mounted shooting! I wish him and his wife nothing but the best and all I can say is if you’re in the market for glasses this is the best place in town.

My brother got me some Ray Bans for Christmas here and they ended up being a little too big on my face. I talked with Dillon on the phone who was extremely helpful in explaining the different size options, and he encouraged me to go to a retailer close to me (since I’m no longer in the Reno area) to try some on. I’m really glad I did, because I was able to find a size that fit my face really well, and it wasn’t the size I would have ordered just based on my online research. Dillon helped us with reordering the pair that fit, and it was a super easy and pleasant experience! I was impressed by the professionalism and customer service from all employees here that I dealt with, and Dillon in particular was so helpful in resolving the issue. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone in the market for eyewear!

I was referred to Adlington by a coworker and Dr. Cheryl is great! Kathy at the front desk is very helpful as well and provided great customer service and worked with me to figure out the best options for my insurance. My appointment was fairly quick and very easy. Dr. Cheryl knows her stuff and is very friendly. Great place, great staff!

I needed advice on the best glasses for sports and I’m tough to fit well. Dillon was just the expert I needed. Couldn’t be happier with the service and results.

Great selection of styles you won’t find anywhere else. They cary novelty items from brands like Chanel, Tiffany and Maui Jim. I had a magnetic clip-​on sunglass added to my lenses. I am very glad they offered this so i didn’t have to buy 2 pairs of glasses.

What an amazing eye care place in reno! It feels straight out of Beverly Hills and the team that works here is top notch. Everyone is really helpful and nice. They have a great selection of eyewear ranging from under 80 dollars to the top designers. They are very thorough and have all the latest eye technology. They got my eye prescription dead on and I can finally see!

Very helpful staff and a huge variety of high quality eyewear. I’ve been to three different places this weekend and these guys are the best. Plus, they took my insurance. Prices were high but quality was very good.

Me: I’m lazy, hate to shop and have pride in holding onto things for long periods of time.
Enter my need for new glasses.
The last pair I bought was in 2006 before I moved from Portland, Oregon. I’ve delayed getting another pair primarily because I felt like I’d only be able to find the funky, fun frames I like in a city like my hometown (no offense, Reno…).
However, scratched lenses and aging eyes got the best of me, so I had my eyes examined by a Dr who my friend recommended and then started hunting for eyewear shops.
I stumbled onto Adlington because I read a review that said they carried quite a few different brands (the shop where I had my exam done had one wall of frames and they were depressing. At best.).
I wanted to go to one shop where I could try on as many different designers, styles, sizes and colors as possible. After all, after wearing the same frames for 7 years, a girl wants something DIFFERENT.
Kathy Hull, an Optician at Adlington, was an ENORMOUS help. I’d brought my very opinionated husband along (he doesn’t HESITATE to tell me if I look absurd or beautiful… a trait I adore) and she didn’t waiver in offering opinions that differed from his, or clapping when we all agreed on certain picks.
I told her what my ideas were and she began the hunt. She grabbed frames of all different shapes, sizes and colors and helped me narrow them down one by one. At one point, I must have had twenty pairs in front of me to choose from — an overwhelming task for someone who hates to make final decisions on something that will live on her face for X number of years.
To help find my gem, she pointed out why I thought one frame «just didn’t look right» and helped me avoid those same mistakes in other frames that my eyes were drawn to (for example, I’ve always loved cat eyes but … well, they make me look like an ogre. I know this now.)
In the end, I’ve ended up with a frame I adore — something that gives me the nerdy funk I want, but classic enough to hold up for another 7 years.

I had my first visit with Dr. (Travis) Adlington recently and knew that I had chosen a great new eye doctor. The receptionist was very friendly and nice and Dr. Adlington really made me feel comfortable and not at all rushed. He took the time to explain things, outline new vision correction procedures, and let me know that I had an astigmatism which had been undiagnosed for years. I was given the proper type of contacts and it’s so nice to have crisp vision after all this time!
I really felt like he and even to some extent the support staff, cared about improving both my eye health and vision quality. It was such a welcome change after years of impersonal eye exams to be treated like an individual.
I also like that I can order my own contacts through their website any time I run out! That is very handy.
I highly recommend them!

Just returned from my first visit to Adlington Eye Center on Plumb and Arlington. What a wonderful team of doctors and staff. Dr. Adlington was extremely up to date on the latest technology. Even more impressive was the time he spent with me. I never felt rushed and and it was the first time I ever had such a thorough exam without the necessity of dilating my eyes.
His staff was also wonderful. Dillon took his time with me to pick out frames and always had the best suggestions.
I was there over 3−½ hours and never felt like I was imposing or using too much of their time…

Dr. Adlington and his team are the very best you could ever see when needing an exam or glasses. They are enthusiastic, truly care and will even stay late to ensure you are completely satisfied with your experience. Dr. Travis Adlington recently alleviated my heavy concerns by promptly ordering my charts from a specialist who had me scared out of my wits and spend upwards of $ 6000 out of pocket on a wild goose chase of tests, then reviewed and called me to relay his findings without letting even a day pass by. They are truly amazing and I can’t imagine ever going somewhere else — thanks Adlington Eye Center!

You can get a reasonable exam at cheaper places. They charged me about $ 100 for a glaucoma test without warning me. I was a broke college student at the time and was quite upset when I saw my bill. I asked Cheryl about the charge, and as I didn’t have insurance I was quite upset and starting to get a little teary. I felt like I’d taken a car to get a simple oil change and then been charged for a rotation and air filter too. No one should feel like that when they’re supposed to be seeing medical professionals. At least mechanics have to ask you if you want a service before they perform it. Anyway, after some protest Cheryl said she’d remove the charge. She tried to make small talk (AKA insult me further) while handling my billing, like asking me if my jewelry was real and what my major was. When I told her economics, she said «How apropos.» I just don’t know how she thinks she’s so much better than everyone else… baffling.
I would go somewhere else where you’ll pay half and get the same treatment. Unless you need fancy glasses frames, in which case, I’d tell you to get lasik because that’s ridiculous.

I haven’t had an eye exam in awhile since I am in Reno for a few weeks, I searched for an eye center close to the client site. I called in to make an appointment with the friendliest front desk person, she even looked up my insurance info. When I went in, it was fairly quick, I had the best experience with Dr. Travis answering all my questions, selecting the frames was fairly easy as well. Overall, I had the best experience.

I have been coming here for several years now. The front where you choose your frames is a little small, and they only have a limited amount of frames to choose from. But with the only negative out of the way. The small selection of frames is quite nice, however this time I decided to try contacts, as my prescription has not changed and I have several pairs of glasses. Got to use up my insurance benefits.
When I called to make the appointment they asked if I was interested in the contacts, at that time I said no. But when I got to the office I changed my mind. No problem. They where, and always are very friendly and helpful. They checked my eyes with a variety of gadgets. This year because I was low on money, and my insurance does not cover it, I opted not to have the photo taken of the inside of my eye, but have in the past. The doctor, I had Travis, was very friendly. While checking what the gadgets told him about my eyes, we chatted about many things. He seemed truly interested in our chat. He also discussed my options for contacts. Went through the pros and cons of the options.
Then out to the fitting room. The lady, I am horrible with names, that taught me to put in the contacts was very friendly and helpful. She made me feel comfortable while I felt like an idiot while trying to put the contacts in for the first time, also taking them back out. After I had them in, I went back to see Travis so he could check the fitting of the contacts. The I went back up front for a little more training. they then ordered my contacts and had them sent to my home. They arrived at my home in 5 days. Very impressed.

I don’t think any one who knows me would say I’m a fashionista, but the service here is incredible, and the selection is awesome.
I had Dr. Travis Adlington when I went in, and he was super friendly. My eyes checked out okay, prescription had drifted a bit, but really, we spent a fair amount of time talking about kite-​surfing and snow sports — to the point where I wondered how he had the time to be spending so much time with me, but the attention was appreciated.
I’m not sure of the name of the guy who helped me with my frame selection, but he was super-​friendly, and gave great feedback while I tried on frames. I tend to be the guy who hates «shopping» in any form, and usually just want to get it over with. The service made this easy, and when I went in to pick up my glasses two weeks later, he remembered my name and greeted me warmly. Very different from one of the mall stores…
Definitely a bit more expensive, but the whole thing made the eye glass shopping experience semi-​pleasant, rather than the tedium it usually is for me. ..
