Meet the Business Owner
Joanna C.
Business Owner
Born and raised on a small-town farm in northern Massachusetts, Joanna has had an inherent passion for art, nature and the outdoors her entire life. As a child she filled journal upon journal with colorful illustrations, and took delight in entering every art competition she could find.
She earned her BFA on art scholarship, graduating from Umass Amherst in 2007 with a degree in painting. Her thesis show, «Bringing to Light», was a series of life-sized charcoal figure drawings inspired by yoga. After working in black and white for an extended period of time, she found that the vibrancy of colors in silk painting awakened something deep within her soul — something joyful and magical.
An avid yogini, crossfitter, foodie, and lover of life, she now lives in a small farm town in Rehoboth, MA with her husband and three kitties, and works for a nonprofit in Providence, RI. When she’s not at her day job, you’ll most likely find her painting up a storm in her second-floor apartment!
