went back about a year ago, the standard went down some. The room was clean but had that carper fresh smell which really turns me off. For the price they charge I expect better…

I have stayed here several times. This place is always clean and the service is good. The WiFi service was quick and the bed was comfortable.

Aufgrund einer Empfehlung einer Dame an der Rezeption in Wilmington buchte ich das Holiday Inn Express in Rehoboth, allerdings nicht Beach direkt, sondern im Vorort. Ich habe mich da einfach einmal auf den Tipp verlassen. Express ließ mich erst etwas aufhorchen, aber die nette Dame in Wilmington wusste offenbar worüber sie sprach. Oder unsere Ansprüche waren unterschiedlich. das wird es gewesen sein. Das Holiday Inn Express ist wieder so ein aus dem Boden gesprengter Klotz, der nichts Gewachsenes hat. Die Lobby ist eine reine Arbeitslobby, nur ein in die Wand eingelassenes Aquarium bringt etwas Wohnlichkeit. Aber Parken ist frei und WiFi ebenso. Was man auch sagen muss ist, dass alle Bereiche –Zimmer, wie auch die öffentlichen Bereiche, drinnen und draussen– sehr sauber sind. In der Rate ist das Frühstück enthalten.
Das Hotel liegt in Rehoboth nicht direkt am Meer, eher zwei Kilometer davon entfernt — kurz vor der Abzweigung der Hauptstraße ans Meer, das sind dann aber eben noch einmal zwei lockere Kilometer. Insgesamt ist Rehoboth ein Touristenort mit wenigen Einwohnern, aber jeder Menge Touristen. Direkt neben dem Hotel gibt es einen von drei Teilen Tanger Outlet Mall in Rehoboth. Die mehrere Kilometer lange Straße beherbergt alles, was sich in der amerikanischen Systemhotellerie– und Gastronomie einen Namen machte. Gegenüber liegt ein Outback Steakhouse, aber auch IHOP, Ruby Tuesday, die Burgerketten sowieso. Die direkte Umgebung ist aber eher weniger nett.
Der Service war aus meiner Sicht unfreundlich. Sehr kurz und knapp, aber das war es nicht. Die ratterten ihre Standardsätze runter, nun gut wird sind nicht im Ritz Carlton, aber wenn man mal freundlich nachfragte, dann wurde man angeschaut, wie der gerade vom Mars gelandete Alien. Das war abends ebenso bei der Servicedame #1, wie morgens bei #2. Einfach unangenehm. Da das Hotel direkt neben einem Outletcenter liegt kann man auch erwarten, dass die Damen die Öffnungszeiten eventuell kennen — tun sie aber nicht. Sehr merkwürdig. Das war wirklich keine nette und auch keine professionelle Behandlung.
Das Frühstück ist complimentary, also im Preis inbegriffen. Serviert wurde ein kleines amerikanisches Frühstück, immerhin. Zerealien, Rührei, dünner Kaffee, Orangensaft — alles da, aber nichts wirklich lecker. Das alles findet in und auf Plastik statt. Sein Tischlein Deck Dich lässt der Expressgast im Müll verschwinden. Das war es. Wenn man nun nicht auf den $ schauen muss heisst der Tipp: Woanders frühstücken gehen und sich den Hunger hier nicht vermiesen .
Sport, Pool & Unterhaltung
Mein Zimmer war unten direkt neben der Lobby und richtig groß. Zwei Betten und eine Couch waren vorhanden, sogar beides echt bequem. Fernseher war flach und man konnte, wie bereits erwähnt, auch an der Sauberkeit nichts meckern. Es war nur sehr dunkel, da das Fenster für den grossen Raum zu klein war und dann war es auch noch zugewachsen mit Wucherpflanze. Insgesamt aber ein guter Rückzugsort in diesem doch sehr expressigen Holiday Inn.
Der Aufenthalt war nicht einmal billig, ich habe irgendwie über 110, – US$ dafür hingelegt und war dafür nicht zufrieden, die Servicedamen hier werden mich nicht mehr blöd behandeln, da ich nicht zurückkommen werde. Das Zimmer war beim Aufenthalt der beste Aspekt.

Apparently the corporate office of Holiday Inn Express is also unwilling to assist on this matter. After reaching out for a week I received this response today,
«Dear Ms. Cunningham,
Thank you for contacting IHGCare regarding your reservation at the Holiday Inn Express Rehoboth Beach, DE. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to bring this matter to our attention and apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.
I have contacted the management of the hotel regarding the situation. We regret they are unable to waive or refund the cancellation fees agreed to at the time of booking.
Once again Ms. Cunningham, thank you for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate your patronage and hope you will again choose IHG for your future travels.»
I concede that the local hotel is certainly UNWILLING to refund our money but I do not believe that they are unable to. Really interesting customer relations tactic, especially the solicitation for future business in the end. The response is a bit tone deaf, is it not? The responses from the General Manager of the hotel and from the corporate office confirm my initial review that this business is more focused on revenue than customer satisfaction.

Clean room comfortable bed. Basic room. Convenient location outside of town. Short ride to beach. Unlike Jersey beaches which you pay for daily or seasonal access the beach here is no payment for access. However the town more then collects their funds with metered parking everywhere. Do yourself a favor and download the smartphone app to purchase meter parking.

I have stayed here many times for work reasons. Every stay was great. Very friendly staff and breakfast people go out of their way to make things great. Rooms are always clean.

Pretty good. Front desk clerk was very, very friendly and accommodating. She thanked me profusely for being a platinum member. She asked as I was checking in if I’d like a late check-​out. This doesn’t happen too frequently, usually I have to ask them.
Bed was comfy, as were the pillows. I was only here for about 12 hours or so — so I can’t comment on nearby attractions. I personally think it’s a little far from the beach — but I like to be right on it. Definitely nearby to a TON of shopping though.

Like the song, it states that it is a «Hotel-​Motel» so i was skeptical in the beginning.
When entering the lobby, i was surprised to find out that the place is decorated nicely and the ceiling isn’t 7 ft. tall, like most motels.
The room was surprisingly spacious with high ceilings. It actually looked like Hyatt Resort rooms. Shocker!
The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean, the pillows were firm & soft, hte t.v. was new and came with HBO, & the Wi-​Fi was free.
There was also free breakfast, so that was a major plus.
Although the hotel is not near the beach, it is more like 1 mile away, the mall is right next to it & walk-​able. (:
Right behind the hotel, there was bus transportation to the beach for $ 2.10 unlimited round trip. So one person can drop the whole family at the beach and skip the parking meters, them come back and take the bus.
Overall. I would stay at this particular Holiday Inn Express again… it was that good.

This hotel is not in front of the beach, it is actually in Route 1. The good part is that has free parking and the bus stop to the beach is just behind the hotel. This saves you the pain of looking for parking close to the beach and the tension of going to put coins to don’t get a ticket. The «Day Pass» is only $ 2.10 and the buses goes every 15 minutes ’til 2:00 am.
The rooms are the classic HIE, clean and with a small microwave and a mini fridge. One of the reasons to take a star out is because my room smell was kind of «musty»… the front desk girl tried to gave me another room but we were too lazy to move all our stuff.
The other star out is because the internet was not consistent, it will kick out every 25 minutes so it was really annoying.
Free breakfast is a plus and the personnel is friendly and helpful. It has an outdoor pool that it is clean too.
The Tanger outlets are very close.
I will stay here again if I come back to Rehoboth Beach. I hope the two issues mentioned above are fix and I can make an update to this review.
