Funland is a family amusement center located on the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. A family owned and operated business since 1962, Funland provides family fun at reasonable prices for those who visit us each summer.

The park offers great entertainment for the whole family, featuring 18 rides, 13 midway games, an electronic shooting gallery, redemption center, Skee Ball, and an arcade with video and pinball machines.

Our season begins Mother’s Day Weekend and runs through Labor Day. In the early part of our season (May into June), our closing time varies; we reserve the right to close early due to factors such as weather and lack of crowds! Normally in season, July 4th — Labor Day, we close around 11 PM.

History

Established in 1962.

It all started as an innocent vacation to the beach, back in 1961…

Brothers Allen and Don Fasnacht, their wives, and their parents, visited the park that was to become Funland during a trip to Bethany Beach in August, 1961. As it turned out the owner (Mr Dentino) wanted to sell. The Fasnachts returned home to think about the prospect of buying, eventually calling Mr Dentino to say they were interested. Settlement on the park was to be on March 15, 1962. The Great Atlantic Storm hit on March 6th, devastating the entire eastern seacoast.

The Fasnacht and Dentino families agreed to go ahead with the deal factoring in allowances for the damage. After much hard work, Funland opened its doors for the summer of 1962.

The rest is history: expanding the park here and there, adding rides and games, and buying adjoining properties for the growing family and their children. Now into the fifth generation, we’re proud to continue the heritage that began half a century ago!
