Delaware Inn

The pros — The location is ideal, the place was clean & well kept, Sharon and her staff were excellent hosts, and the breakfast food served was good.
The cons — the hottest water on tap at 10:00 AM was barely lukewarm. I’d go so far as to characterize my shower as having been ‘cold’. And, second, the bed in our room (#8) was so incredibly firm that my girlfriend and I left convinced that it was just a box spring we were lying on.
The three-​star is probably generous. probably more like 2.5

My husband and I stayed here last year for our honeymoon, and loved it so much that we went back this year to celebrate our anniversary. Sharon and her staff are such wonderful hosts, always making sure we had everything we could need, and are just lovely people. Fresh breakfasts are creative and tasty, and the evening desert is an extra special touch. The porch faces so that there’s morning AND evening sun, perfect for breakfast and lounging. We’re walkers, so this is a prime location. The beach is just two blocks east down the street, and the main street with shops and restaurants is two blocks north. There are bikes available for guests to use, but we opted to walk everywhere this trip.
We’ve stayed in rooms 4 and 8, and plan to check out some of the others during future stays. One caveat about room 8 is that it’s on the main floor off the dining room, so if you’re looking for a super-​quiet space to hang out during the day or if the smells of breakfast cooking will grump up your sleep-​in morning, you might want to look at the other rooms. We enjoyed staying in it (attached bathroom, comfy bed, soft morning light), but it’s something that should be known before booking.
The Delaware Inn feels like a home away from home, and we can’t wait to go back again.
TIP: Visit during the shoulder season! Mid-​September through October-​ish. The beach is amazing during fall weather, and the room prices are a bit more affordable as compared to high season. The town slows down around then, and everyone we encountered seemed to be happy and relaxed instead of busybusybusy. Also, parking is free and easy to find!

The Delaware Inn is a very relaxing, service-​oriented bed and breakfast. We had the largest room, which was beautiful and also had its own bathroom (several rooms share a bathroom with other guests).
Breakfast was delicious, as were the evening snacks. They provide clean beach towels each day as well as beach chairs and clean towels for the outdoor shower.
It’s also a great location — close to the beach and the main strip of shops/​restaurants.

Will always be remembered because I got engaged in Rehoboth. We stayed two nights and Sharon and her staff are so attentive and caring. The location is great because it is so close to the beach. She has so many other amenities like the shared mini fridge, bike usage, and even towels and chairs for the beach! The breakfast is amazing and the sweets time in the evening is such a nice touch.
The drawback is that the rooms are a tad bit small and not completely soundproof, but from what I could tell from the neighborhood it looks like most of the houses looked that way too. It gave to the quaint neighborhood feel and made the stay just as pleasant and enjoyable.
Rehoboth is a gem of a beach town and Delaware Inn is a great place to stay with exceptional service.

So close to beach … all the great spots are within walking distance. Innkeeper Sharon and her staff pay attention to all the right details. Breakfast is very substantial. Rooms are super clean and well cared for. Quiet, nice privacy. Have stayed here multiple times and have a great visit every stay.

I’ve only stayed at a small handful of B&Bs, and so far, this has been the best of the bunch.
We arrived on a Friday, pleased to find our own parking space in the back of the Inn (though someone took our space mistakenly) and our room key in the mailbox on the front of the house (we were very, very late to due a dead car battery nightmare). Though we had brought our own bikes, we spotted a bunch of them in the back under a tarp for guest use. Nice touch. The porch, which is very welcoming, was full of guests who had just finished the snack that the Inn had provided and had moved onto cocktail hour… and they were nice enough to dig into their cooler and offer to make us one too!
Once inside, I noticed a large bin of beach towels for guests, also a nice touch. Our room was #3 and I very much recommend it –nicely decorated, clean and spacious. I really liked that the room came with fresh flowers and a bottle of Perrier for our enjoyment. Our bathroom, while not in the room, was ours alone — and very clean. The bathroom next to ours was shared by rooms 1 and 2.
The next morning we were served a delicious breakfast of coconut french toast with pineapple syrup and a mexican egg dish with vegetarian sausage. Both were very good. Also laid out were bagels, lox, cream cheese, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, muffins, oj and coffee/​tea. They even made me a pot of decaf. I really liked that they checked in advance to learn about any food allergies… I would have been a goner if there were any hazelnuts!
Besides the proximity to the beach and the shops/​restaurants, the selling point of the Inn for me was the included yoga class by the owner. Unfortunately the owner was on vacation when we booked there, but I still think that is a fabulous way to set them apart from the dozens of other B&Bs nearby.
The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, top notch — enough so to merit mentioning. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we hope to visit again!
