Craig runs the most wonderful pool service around!
When our system broke down, he was there immediately to fix it. He has gone out of his way with a pool that has a VERY old filter/​pump system – to keep it running and keep the pool sparking.
His prices are very reasonable, his service is exceptional!

The crew is always looking out for us. When the big storms were starting this winter, they were out at the pool cleaning out the pool cover pump to make sure we were taken care of! thank you Craig!

Craig and his expert team were amazing! Somehow squeezed me into their schedule last minute and came back one hour before sunrise next morning for second cleaning (wearing headlamps and parkas) for my event later that day. I could not be more pleased with the value, service and follow-​up they provided. The pool was immaculate and sparkling. Our guests were blown away.
They cleaned up after themselves so well that, apart from the flawlessly clean pool, I’d have never known that they had been there.
If you want this done right, look no further.

Hired them for a year and am kicking myself for sticking with them that long.
At first the weekly service seemed good, then I noticed that the guy wasn’t cleaning the bottom of our spa. He would leave debris in it. I also started noticing that he was in and out within 10. He’d throw some chlorine in, remove the leaves and out he would go. I never saw him check the ph balance or clean the filter. But he swore to me that he was.
We also had an issue with our pool sweep getting tangled. I would send emails to Craig to have his guy fix it. After three times of them trying to fix it, I gave up. I think Craig was tired of hearing from me because he started to not respond to me. Well, pardon me for wanting it fixed once in for all.
I finally cancelled the service and my good friend recommend her pool guy. He came out to look at the pool and equipment and to my shock and dismay our pool filter was filthy! The new pool guy told us that it looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned for a LONG time. And to make matters worse, because it was not cleaned it was not allowing the water to filter through the system. Because of that, the filter casing had blow off. If we hadn’t discovered it when we did, the pump probably would have burned out.
I emailed Craig and told him what we found and sent pictures. I told him I was not going to pay the last bill since that money was now going toward buying a new filter and part of the housing. His response was rude and unapologetic! He took no responsibility for his inept worker. He said it was our fault for not having the proper equipment.
I will never recommend this company. My new guy has been awesome. Not only did he fix the damage from Poseidon for a fraction of what it should have cost but he fixed our pool sweep on the first try. Our pool is crystal clear now.

Poseidon Pools has serviced our pool in Atherton for over 20 years and is truly a wonderful company. We have never had any problem at all with this company and that is why we have used them for so long. The owner, Craig, is just about the nicest guy you will ever meet, and he often answers the phone when I call. A recent addition which has also increased our loyalty is the store on Woodsie road. Great service there and reasonable prices. Convenient too! This company is honest and hardworking. I give them my highest recommendation!

Where to begin… I have waited several weeks to write this review to make sure I really wanted to give them 1 star. This decision was solidified last week when I went to return a product for my husband.
1) Tried to schedule an appt w/​Craig and he returned my call 5 days later. It was close to 4^th of July so his excuse was «Everyone wants their pool cleaned.» Ok… So I told him I’d be patient.
2) Made an appointment and Craig and his guys were no shows.
3) Made second appointment and they were no shows.
4) Called company to ask where they were and then received a call about an hour later with the guy saying he just got the call that he was needed.
5) Cancelled appointment and Craig called to apologize. I forgave them again but never use their service.
6) My husband went to their store and sales person sold him wrong pool supplies.
7) Lucky me… I got to return the pool supplies and was hassled for making the return…
It’s your life… you can choose Poseidon if you have time to waste waiting around for them to show up or drive back and forth returning supplies you don’t need. Sorry Poseidon someone had to write this.

Craig is wonderful as are the rest of the service staff. He is not only professional… he is also kind!

I service my own pool and Posiedon has been honest, friendly and patient in explaining how to evaluate and take care of my pool. Friends tell me the pool has never looked better since I fired the service from the former owner. Posiedon deserves the credit — they are generous with information and honest.

Despite my wonderful experience using the store and getting help from Ron, my experience with the service is what prompted me to give this place a 1 star. I needed some service done on my pool due to a pump malfunction and algae building up. I needed the pool clean so that I could have a leak detection specialist look for possible problems with my pipes. I set up an appointment with the owner, who was nice enough to take my calls before their store officially opened for business, and set and appointment. He set up a date and time to have my pool inspected so that I could get an estimate on the cost of cleaning the pool. I had an appointment for either four thirty or five pm, not sure exactly which time it was, but the person that was supposed to come by never showed up. After a few minutes past the scheduled appointment, I finally called Craig to find out what was going on, and he said he was going to check with his employee. After a few minutes later, his employee contacted me to inform me that he was going to be late (obviously since it was already 30mins past the appointment). Edgar, the employee, was really friendly and even gave us information on what could have caused my pool pump to act up. He eventually looked at my pool and gave me an estimated price of somewhere between $ 225-​$ 250; not sure of the exact estimate but a 100% sure it was not over $ 250. So I went with their service since I was going to save $ 50 dollars more than other companies that looked at my pool. It took them over a week to clean my pool since they had to let the leaves and particulates settle to the bottom before vacuuming. What I did not like was the lack of communication between the company and the pool owner. I had to call once to verify whether they were done since I could still see leaves and other stuff in the bottom of the pool. Edgar came back, re-​settled the pool, and said he will come back to re-​vacuum in a couple days. After that visit, I did not bother calling them up again despite leaves and powdery looking things at the bottom of the pool. I figured since I’m paying less than $ 250 I should not expect the pool to be immaculate.
What a surprise to get a bill at over $ 450. This probably would not have been as shocking if I was updated of the price possibly changing for whatever reason, perhaps I could have done something to help keep the cost down, like clean part of the pool myself instead of just receiving the updated bill. Now, as I mentioned to the owner, I understand that an estimate is just an estimate and that the final bill may not be exactly as what is estimated. However, I do understand that an estimate is done based on the «professional» companies experience and skills, so a difference of almost 2X the estimated cost was ridiculous. I would have preferred an over estimation and paid that price or less than having to pay double of what I had in mind. If I had known this, I would have chosen another company. Well, I emailed the owner to find out if there (by some weird possibility) might have been some miscommunication between the service personnel and him; which would have explained the price difference. The email I got back basically said that he actually gave me a deal since he gave me a $ 200 something discount since they only charged for four hours instead of six (lucky me). What I interpreted from the savings he said I got was that I should feel happy that he only charged 2X the estimate instead of almost 3X the estimate. On a positive note, the owner did ask me if I wanted to work out a price that was more acceptable. At this point I figure I should just take the hit and be grateful I did not go ahead with putting fiberglass on my pool which he «estimates» the cost at $ 10,000. Being $ 200 in the hole sucks but is way better than $ 20,000 with the way they as «professionals» do their estimates.
I might continue to use the store for supplies since it’s near my place and Ron is a great guy and the prices are clearly labeled. However, I will take the $ 200 lesson that I received to avoid them like the plague for all my future pool service needs.

We switched to this company. They put in a salt system this year and overhauled the solar. Affordable. I email them if I have a problem. They respond right away. I’m a tough customer if the service has to be managed. These guys /​Craig do a great job.

I just rented a house with a pool and the automatic pool cleaner wasn’t working. I found Poseidon Pool with a Google search. I called and rather than try to sell me a new cleaner for $$$, they said they could most likely fix it.
I brought it in and sure enough within minutes and only paying for the part, it was good as new. I was so impressed with the professionalism, knowledge and level of service. I will be a regular customer!

So now that we have been using this service for over 6 months, the pool has been in such good shape. I don’t believe it has ever looked this good for so long. They are consistent and full of knowledge!
If I could up my rating, I would!

I went to Ron at Poseidon Pools. He is very knowledgeable and was great to work with. Also, he has great resources in the people he works with. It took us about a month to get my pool water where it needed to be and he didn’t give up. We kept at it until it was right. It was easy to do with the right direction. Thanks Ron and Poseidon Pools.

We’ve been shopping here for our pool supplies. We do our own maintenance so we just need chemicals every now and then for our pool and spa. These folks are friendly, convenient, and seem to have very good prices. We definitely recommend them.

Ron at Poseidon Pools is a lifesaver. He is incredibly knowledgeable and very generous with his time and efforts. We rented a house with a hot tub, and didn’t know the first thing about them. We brought in all of the chemicals that we had at the house, and he went through them one by one, explaining what they did, helping us decide if we needed them, and disposing of expired chemicals for us. He honestly told us if we needed new things or if what we had was sufficient. This week, I went back in because some of the chemicals require knowing how many gallons your hot tub holds. Ron was able to tell me off the top of his head, just based on the name of the hot tub. He then gave me a piece of paper with an easy way to estimate the volume, as well. He has given us some of the best service we’ve ever received at a business! Go visit Ron for your hot tub and pool needs!

Our HOA uses Poseidon Pool Service. I wouldn’t usually comment on a service like this but being a homewoner who uses the community pool regularly and is DISGUSTED when I try to use the pool, I need to share it with others. Our pool LOOKS clean from afar but it is dirty inside — even after their bi-​weekly service. My child dives for things a lot and when she goes to pick something up off the bottom of the pool, several «other» items get stirred up which is pretty gross. The tiles around the top of the pool are so dirty with grime that people have started to write in the grime. I’ve seen a game of tic-​tac-​toe scratched into the tile grime, people write their names, favorite band, etc. EWWWW. Forgot to mention the cumps of hair that gets stuck in your fingers when swimming underwater. I guess that could be the swimmers’ fault for not tying their hair back but shouldn’t the pool be vacuumed regularly? There is MORE to cleaning a pool than pouring a bunch of chemicals in it. If you’re looking for a pool service look somewhere else because these people do a half ass job.
