History

Established in 1923.

In 1923, Harry Morey Jr., an accomplished concrete contractor and road builder, chose a site along the rail line in Menlo Park to supply building materials to the growing San Francisco Peninsula. The company was named Peninsula Building Materials. In the years that followed, his three sons, John, Joe and Kip worked and business flourished.

After the end of the Second World War, Peninsula began to offer the greater variety of building materials that became available from across the country. In 1968, Peninsula opened its second location in Sunnyvale. In 1981 the Menlo Park yard was moved to its present Redwood City location. THe San Martin location was added in 1989. The Mountain View Masonry Showroom opened in 2006 and the Livermore location in 2008.

Harry founded Peninsula stressing values of dependable service, quality materials, prompt delivery, large inventory and competitive prices. Today, the Morey Family still embraces and carries out these commitments.
