Paul Bigham, owner of One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning®, was born and raised in the North Bay and has worked in the HVAC trade since 1984. Paul and his wife Bradette started their own company in 1991 and joined Clockwork Home Services, a national franchise, in 2005.

We live in a townhouse in Redwood City which is about 16 years old. Our neighbors had an unfortunate incident occur where a pipe connection broke in their attic, related to the AC/​furnace being clogged with dust somehow. They sustained water damage on all levels. Floors and ceilings were opened to dry out with blowers and this involved some significant reconstruction to their home. They were five days without water, the A/​C unit was replaced and the whole episode was something of a disaster. As a result, we decided to have our heating and A/​C unit checked out.
I called One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning on the Friday afternoon before Memorial Day weekend and was surprised when Teri answered the phone and setup an appointment for the following Wednesday apologizing for not scheduling sooner because they were closed for the holiday. I left messages with three other vendors that afternoon. Not only was One Hour Heating more responsive, when I did hear back from the others their charges were more.
Ninef came out and was not only competent, friendly and respective of our home (he wore protective booties and cleaned up after himself). He went the extra mile! Ninef showed me how our original install had not been properly insulated. There were gaps where cooled air was escaping the A/​C unit and effectively cooling the attic. He taped all this up and cleaned up the furnace unit of all dust, checked all our pipe connections and gave us a clean bill of health. Ninef also replaced a leaky shower head as a favor even though it was not part of his work order.
I highly recommend this group.

Very satisfied with my new furnace from One Hour. Jason offered me a discount to schedule the work in the fall, but I waited until winter and paid the full price — still worth it. The techs accidentally damaged some of the drywall when removing my old furnace, and they sent out a quality repair service. My wife had some concerns about how the furnace was operating, and Jason was out there the next day to check up on it.

Our furnace stopped working at the tail end of winter and we were running out of firewood. It was late on a Friday and One Hour was the only place in redwood city I could call to schedule a consultation. They quickly scheduled someone to come out and take a look, and within a week I had a crew installing a new furnace, ac unit, and duct work. I didn’t expect any of this, but after taking a close look at my existing system, I believe it was all necessary for the comfort of my family. Redwood city has been getting so hot in the summer that I am very glad we chose to include the ac unit as part of the package. All in all I spent much more than I had expected to when my furnace initially died, but I don’t regret it because I know the system in my house is top notch and we will be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Anthony and his crew of Chau, Alvaro, and eric were super friendly as I pestered them for what was going on and they were very helpful in putting things in the right places. We came out of this whole process feeling pretty happy with the deal we got.

Because they call themselves «One Hour,» I assumed that they offered same-​day service, so I called to ask for that because they are local to me and I had a minor furnace problem.
They kept me on hold for several minutes, asked me for a lot of information about myself and my house, tried to sell me a service plan, then put me back hold for several more minutes. While on hold, I got to listen to obnoxious music and ads about how they drug-​test their employees.
After all this they told me I could have an appointment four days from now, «but if we have an cancellation we can work you in sooner.» Um, no.
The star is because the person I talked to was polite.

Tony and Alvaro gave us a great new furnace. They showed up before the time to be extra sure they were on time, and stayed through a very complicated replacement of a 25-​year old furnace. Even though it was trickier than we originally thought they kept to the quoted price and cleaned up wonderfully as if they were never here. Chilly house went to toasty warm in a matter of minutes. Everyone we’ve talked to with One Hour has been really great, very professional, polite, and friendly. Thank you!

We had a mishap with our A/​C of course during infrequent heat wave time. The A/​C just stopped working. Called One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning. Very professional on the phone. They offered to come give estimate the next day. The problem was found and fixed the same day. Very fast service. Excellent customer service. We had a problem with our Air Conditioning, not cooling our home, so I called One Hour Heating and Air to take advantage of the clean/​service special they where offering on-​line. Our system had not been serviced, other then filter replacements, since it was installed back in 2003 and I hoped it was something simple. After the initial servicing and some troubleshooting, the problem was not diagnosed. So One Hour H&A put Ian and Tyler on the job and they where able to diagnose our problem within 45 minutes. They then went out and got the replacement part, installed it and got our whole system back in working order in no time. They where very professional, experienced and incredibly polite. The management team at One Hour H&A made sure our problem was fixed and that we where taken care of. They stand by their work and we would trust using them again.

Very disappointed in this company I saw a story on them and thought their concept was good. i called them for a quote one to fix are noisy furnace two we needed new ducts.
The guy came over he didn’t really look at our furnace he took a quick look at our ducts in attic took pics then barely looked at our crawl space but took pics. he quickly new we had asbestos in all our vents our ducts needed to be changed. Alright we knew that we needed new ducts, but asbestos really? so he quickly gave me the speech of we do the best job & I asked for a estimate he told me they don’t give estimates & we give you a price & that’s it.
Ok give me a price so he did 10,500 for the job and the furnace oh yeah we can tune it up for free didn’t check it or anything just causally opened the door and said we can tune it up. the furnace needed a new transformer, no tune up will fix
was a big job but we were paying for drug testing of the employees they hired that was part of the price of 10,
u want me to pay for your drug testing and here is the kicker I had to make a decision on the spot or the 10% discount he offered us was gone after he left because, He would have to come back. really? comeback for what.
The only positive was the warranty but for that price fuck no!
So i had 2 other companies that came out quoted us HALF THE PRICE plus heard the furnace and knew what was the issue right off the bat & only 2 vents had asbestos not all 8 of them. loooooong story short. if you get pressured to hire a company to do a overpriced job so they can do drug testing.
You better get drugged tested too, lol.

What a great crew. Both Norman and Tony were not only prompt but, very courteous, kept the work areas clean and picked up after themselves. They worked as a team and when the job encountered asbestos, immediately isolated the contaminated area but, completed as much as they could without disturbing the asbestos. After the asbestos was removed by PW Stevens Environmental, Norman spent another 7 or eight hours, replacing what was removed and completing the job.
One Hour Heating owner, these men deserve a raise. I found One Hour via purchasing a furnace through Costco. I recommend then whole heartedly.

Derrick and Matt and did an amazing job — these guys worked their butts of in blistering heat in our attic (thank goodness we had a fan up there, it was 120 over the weekend up there but we were able to get it down to a mere sweltering 97) and installed a really great, high quality Air and Furnace system. From scratch.
Jim was a great salesman as well — he walked us through the options and patiently sat through all of my questions and made himself available while we got the contract and plan written up.
If you want a beautiful job done by folks that are really nice to spend a few days with, this is the place to go. It’s too bad there aren’t more stars — I’d say 10 would be more fitting. :)

What I liked best about my experience is once they were aware of an issue that would have left a bad taste in a customer’s mouth, they jumped right in and addressed it.
Perhaps there is some new leadership in place that will start to see more positive scores come through. Perhaps there is simply a renewed focus on ensuring customers are happy /​satisfied with the effort and results of the service.
I have had one hour for about 18 months now and over the course of this time I feel there is an upward trend going on here, so I hope it continues. At least for me, I had a great experience and will call them when I have any future issues as part of my problem solving process.

No one wanted to get under our house to work on our difficult heating system, but when I had this company come out — they were on it. My window was 7pm — 11pm. By 11:15pm we finally had heat. The technician was knowledgeable, his van was a mobile shop (he had ALL the parts needed). I highly recommend this company.
