Absolutely love this dentist! I just moved into town and was in need of a good dentist. I was recommended Dr. Nettem by a coworker and today is my second visit and I absolutely love her! Both her and her assistant Rosario are super nice and friendly! Very welcoming! Clean! And organized! This says a lot since I’m a very picky person!

My visit had a creepily unprofessional feel to it. Luckily I was here only for a cleaning, as I would not have trusted this dentist with anything more – even the simple cleaning was uncomfortable and did not feel sanitary or thorough. A succession of small things added up to me wanting to get out of there as fast as possible.
I assure you, I am not someone who often complains of dental procedures being uncomfortable. Of course anytime someone is poking at your teeth there is a level of discomfort. I’m referring to more than this: frantic-​feeling scraping, brushing, and flossing; lack of skill with that suction tube (I had to fold it for an extended period – unaddressed by the dentist); her spraying water tons of water in my mouth (w/​o pausing so I could close or rinse) and generally being really messy and careless with it.
I’m with the other reviewer who was surprised she has a license.
I will not return and do no recommend.

I’m amazed that Dr. Nettem has a medical license, let alone her own practice. She completely messed up my tooth. In the process of filing/​drilling my tooth, she repeatedly hit the two teeth next to it, making a FREAKING DENT in one of them. She’s a joke and this practice is a joke. Aside from her horrible medical abilities, her office is insanely disorganized. The fact that her office was very empty both times I went in shows me that I’m not the only one that feels this way.

I had an emergency dental proceeding that needed to be completed outside of insurance and in a hurry on a weekend. I called several dentists from San Mateo down through RWC.
Dr. Nettem answered the phone herself and was very polite. After discussing my problem she, unlike every other dentist I called, was upfront about costs, giving me an estimate for the procedure barring any complications. The other dentists I called were elusive and just trying to get me in the seat. Dr. Nettem was friendly an honest.
Honesty means a lot.
I had the procedure completed in about an hour despite our chatting. As a bonus I have a nerve that is very difficult to hit with novocain, the last time I had anything done I took 5 shots to no effect. She managed to deliver an effective shot with only 2 tries. No nitrous needed!
She was friendly, fair, fast and it was comfortable. Only negative is it still was a trip to the dentist…
⁵⁄₅ will go back again after my insurance kicks in!

Called on a Sunday she came in super friendly and great customer service! She said she doesn’t usually work Sundays but since I called with my I’m out of town and with a toothache she decided to come in since she had one of her friends coming in as well! I’m very grateful thanks!!!

Visited Dr. Nettem for cleaning and getting the cavities filled. She was good in advising how to keep teeth clean.
However following things disappointed me:
Her assistant confirmed the appointment and when I visited her office it was closed on a weekday. She blamed it on the scheduling software.
After cleaning the cavity she forgot to fill one of the cavities and I had to take appointment and revisit again and she apologized however I had to bear a week of pain till I realized she missed filling the cavity.
Her assitant Betsy overcharged me and I contacted her back after receiving insurance statment she was not available and never replied to the email.
I would never revisit Ace Dental again.

Dr. Nettem is unorganized and unprofessional.
Dr. Nettem was on my insurance’s preferred provider list. I called up and made an appointment. That morning, I went to the office and it was completely closed. I called the office number and (not surprisingly) no one picked up.
After ten minutes, another dentist unlocked the office and I asked where Dr. Nettem was; he just turned his back and let his own patient in. I then called the «emergency» phone line and got in touch with Dr. Nettern, who sounded surprised and like she had just woken up. «I’ll be there in five minutes.» Fifteen minutes later she arrived — no apology or explanation.
Dr. Nettem did the usual peddling of goods and services I don’t need. Without even looking at my teeth or without access to a single X-​Ray, she told me I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed. I would think a reasoned medical opinion on dental extraction would be based on some data or patient history. I think it was based solely on the lucrative reimbursement rates through insurance providers. She didn’t seem at all deterred when I told her that I have had my wisdom teeth for at least six years and my last dentist took X-​rays and said there was no need to have them out.
Do you ever get the feeling that the dentist is pushing a little too hard with the dental pick — perhaps in the hope that a tooth or filling will chip? Well, she went to town on a molar, but the filling wouldn’t budge, though she managed to chip it a little.
During the cleaning, she also said, «I’m going to give you a mouthwash that will restore enamel.» After the cleaning, she handed me the small bottle and said, «that will be 22 dollars.» Dentists have quickly become our generation’s used car salesmen.
The only reason I give her two stars is that she didn’t overcharge my insurance and send me a bill for the overage, which unfortunately is standard practice in this industry.

She is great! I went to another dentist, and i always felt that they were treating my wallet. Dr Nettems charges are very reasonable. When my last wisdom tooth had problems, she even suggested that since it did not meet another tooth anymore, I might have it extracted instead of spending a lot of money trying to save it. Because i have ankelosing spodylitis– a form of arthritis– the other three wisdom teeth were very difficult and painful for week after. Dr Nettem did a super job with little pain and rapid healing. She stopped taking my dental HMO, and I am going to change insurace so that I can keep her

i went to Dr. Nettem she was great, she did my cleaning for half the price of United Dental, will i go here again, YES will i refer a friend YES, even if you have to wait she is worth it. united dental will see you and about 10 other patients at the same time and then you wonder did he or she change there gloves?

Unilocal got me. I went to Dr. Nettem based on the great reviews provided by at least 3 or 4 of the reviewers. Now, I’m wondering whether they’re all related to her ;-) It’s bad enough that all the other dentists in RC seem to be hacks.
Regardless, Dr. Nettem was decent enough, and Emma was great. In fact, the office was not swamped at all when I came in which I guess was just luck on my part. However, here’s a list of things that I find completely unacceptable:
1) I went for a checkup and cleaning. This took only 30 minutes. Totally unacceptable. It took my regular dentist at least 1.5 hours total. He would meticulously measure each and every one of my inclusions and document them for a follow-​up. His dental hygienist usually takes at least 45 minutes to do my cleaning.
2) Food or lunch bags should not be anywhere near the workarea. Dr. Nettem has two workareas. One was not being used, and was replete w/​personal articles and lunch bags. This might even be an OSHA violation. The same thing could be said about not emptying an overfilled trash can where I threw my disposable cup after the cleaning.
3) This is a nit, but an important one for a dental practice. For some reason, I didn’t feel comfortable about the cleanliness of the practice. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but Dr. Nettem didn’t help matters by #2 above, and the fact that she was a little disorganized. I’m used to having a dentist w/​all his/​her tools in a nice clean bag ready right before I sit down. In Dr. Nettem’s case, I could hear her shuffling the tools around, and picking them up right before the cleaning. Again, a nit or just knowing what’s standard practice.
4) The first sentence that came out of her mouth was that she was recommending to get rid of my wisdom teeth which I’ve had for over 40 years, and which have no issues. I wonder if she’s really concerned about my teeth or just can’t stop thinking about all those dollar bills she’ll get for doing the procedure.
5) Almost forgot. I called 3 times before actually talking to a live person. I even left a message once. Being a persistent person, I called a fourth and final time at which time I finally talked to the receptionist, Emma.
I was going to give her a «2» star, but after my list, I can in good conscience only give her a «1.» If she ever gets more staff, be more organized, spend more time w/​her patients, and think more about her patients well-​being as opposed to dollars, I might consider coming back. Nah, that might just be too much to ask.

Dr. Nettem was friendly, but she needs to get her office in better working order.
First time I showed up for appointment, her assistant had not shown up and she became swamped. What I could not believe is she was answering phone and telling people she could take them right then. When a bunch of us were waiting! Was seriously the fastest cleaning of my life, 5 minutes TOP. Bleh
We were thinking it was a one time occurance, until my partner went back for some more work done. She didn’t show up for the appt time and he ended up waiting an hour for nothing.
We’re switching dentists. I do think if she gets a better assistant and doesn’t overbook herself she’ll become a better dentist.

When I went to a dentist in downtown SF for an annual teeth cleaning done, all I got from him was photos, more photos, and a huge invoice. As for the cleaning, fegedaboutit !
I met Madhvi at a friend’s place, she told me her profession, and I said I would like to get my cleaning done. She not only gave me a quick appointment, but also accomodated my working hours. As for her work, I will have to say it was extremely good. She is very friendly and easy to be with, has a very good and clean office, and is likely to be my dentist for life.
Highly recommended !

Dr. Nettem and her staff are very nice and they have a very clean office. In other words, you dont walk in there and wonder if you’re going to walk out with a staph infection or something. I would definitely send a friend here.

Dr. Nettem saw me on very short notice to take care of a problem I was having with a filling. As trips to the dentist go, it was not bad. I can recommend her.

Dr. Nettem is great! She is really really nice and helpful. I had my cleaning, checkup and cavity filled here. She was very professional and thorough and gives lot of attention to every detail. Her office is very modern looking, clean and has all the latest technology. She is very flexible with her hours and try to accomodate your schedule as much as she can. I highly recommend Dr. Nettem!!!
