Loural Towing

I called Loural when my car wouldn’t start. They came right away, and towed the car to my mechanic. The truck operator was friendly and willing to answer questions. He seemed very sharp. The truck had a platform on back, and so the car was treated well. The price was as agreed on the phone, and very reasonable. I will certainly call them next time I need a tow.

Changed my tire in less than 5 minutes and came in less than 15minutes great service !
Was only 50 $!

really good service. every time I call in there very friendly, not like most places. ive called them many times. no matter where I am they get there very quickly. never had any problems before. most places cost a arm and a leg. but there prices are fair and honest. Two large nail punctures caused my rear right tire to flatten when I visited the Stanford Medical Center in Redwood City. I called my insurance, California Casualty and they assigned Loural Towing to my case. Told me they would come within 30 minutes. Enrique arrived in less than 10 minutes. Pumped air into my spare tire and replaced my tire quickly. He also went above and beyond by calling his shop which was 2 blocks away, arranging for my tires to be fixed at a discount and guided my car to the service station. Pedro fixed my flat in no time and the entire Loural Towing team were consistently warm, friendly and caring.

I’ve had lots of bad luck with my cars and ever since the first time I used Loural I can remember nothing but how curtious they are with me. The best part is they don’t charge an arm or a leg for their service. Even when I was stranded in Milpitas and had to be towed all the way to Hayward. I figured a tow company that was closer would be less expensive I called all the tow companys nearest me and even some from Hayward but I gave it a shot and called Loural-​they still gave the lowest quote.

The first time in many years I had to have a car towed, my State Farm insurance called Loural. Enrique arrived quickly, was SO nice, kind, and totally professional — He knew exactly what he was doing with my older Volvo 850.
My previous car had been a real problem because of an after-​market front spoiler, so I was really nervous about being towed. Smooth as silk with Enrique and the flat-​bed truck!
A few years later, car older still, it died and needed a tow to my mechanic. I can’t remember the name of the nice man, but I lucked out, as State Farm called Loural and I got Enrique again. This time I write it down!
Last week, the old car dies again. Knowing all the work it needs now (including something continually draining the battery), I arrange to donate it to Palo Alto High School’s auto tech department. If the kids can fix it, they sell it to raise money for their program (not much funding anymore), and it’s back on the road for a few more years. If they can’t fix it, they get to keep working on it, learning as they go. What a great deal for my old car!
Anyway, I call Loural and ask if I can have Enrique, and he’s there within a half hour, quicker than their estimate. He is the best, deals expertly with all the traffic on my street, loads my good old car up for the last time, and lets me lead him (I have to sign the pink slip with the teacher, and I want to do it right away) to the back of the high school and through the campus to the auto shop yard, where he unloads the car in the only tiny corner that is left there. Very smooth, very kind. He is the best!
I only write these when I think someone gives outstanding service, so I am thrilled to be recommending Enrique and Loural Towing.

These guys are great. Great price and fast service. My boyfriend needed his really low car towed — they took great care of the car and quoted the lowest price from 6 other places. I definitely recommend these guys.

Car just broke down. They were friendly, quick, and reasonably priced. Everything you want when your car breaks down in the rain.

My insurance vendor basically found Loural Towing for me. After driving down the expressway, hearing a loud bang, seeing negative numbers on my tire pressure monitor, and getting myself to a safe place, I called them up. After getting my info to them, they setup and automated computer system to update me when someone would arrive. After a pretty dead 45 min, a guy for Loural towing showed up with a flat bed I requested. They got my shipped over to the dealership in no time flat. Perhaps one of the smoother dealings with either a towing/​insurance and subsequent car rental experience I’ve had in a long time.

It saddens me to have to leave this review, because I once had an excellent experience with Loural Towing — but today was a disaster. I should say, before I rant a bit, that once the driver showed up, he was professional, and quick.
However, his timing was completely unacceptable.
My wife dropped our daughter at the bus stop this morning, and when she went to start the car to go to work, it wouldn’t start. She called Audi roadside service, who set up a 1:30 pm appointment for me to meet the tow truck to take the car to the dealer. Turns out that the provider that Audi hired to tow our car was Loural.
We picked 1:30 because it was the only hole in my busy calendar. Audi called to confirm the time, so I left work at 1:15 and arrived at the car at 1:25. Remember, this 1:30 pm appointment was set up at 8:15 in the morning — plenty of notice (5 hours!).
When I called Audi at 1:45 to tell them that the truck hadn’t shown up, they called Loural, who reported that the truck was «on his way, stuck in traffic, should be there in 15 – 20 minutes.» This annoyed me, but stuff happens. When he hadn’t arrived at 2:15 (45 minutes after the appointed time), I called Loural myself, and was told that he was «stuck in traffic, should be there in 5 minutes.» He finally arrived at 2:28 pm — almost exactly an hour late — which caused me to miss several important meetings.
I have two issues with this. First, give 5 hours notice, he should have been there on time. But second, there is no way that he was «stuck in traffic» for an hour. Loural obviously crammed in an extra job, instead of sending the truck to me on time. They got an extra tow, but I got to miss an extra hour of work and two meetings that I needed to attend. And they lied to me about it, twice. For that, I award them a big rasberry, 1 star, and a promise that I will never do business with them again. I gave them 2 stars in this review only because the driver was professional in doing his job once he did arrive.
He did not, I note, utter a single apologetic word. Not so much as «sorry for being late.» So much for quality service.

While going through the winding roads on the 17-​S towards Santa Cruz last night, the power steering on my husband’s car malfunctioned. He had a hard time controlling the car on his way to the shoulder, especially in the middle of a turn. My BB browser was a bit slow and getting the hotline to GM proved difficult, so I ended up calling GM Canada. The rep I spoke to (Tarran) informed us that she, too, drives the Pontiac G5, and recently received a letter informing her that a recall was being done due to problems with Power Steering Assist. Great. It happened once again, but we were so close to Santa Cruz that we figured we could decide once we reached whether or not to spend the night there and get it fixed. On our way back up, the Power Steering started failing every 1 – 2 miles, always during a turn. About 7 more fails, potential accidents, and 4 phone calls to the US GM later (who never once mentioned the recall, Ref:
), we made it to the In-​N-​Out right of the Rengstorff exit in Mountain View and informed them of our location.
They arranged for Loural Towing to tow my husband’s car from the In-​N-​Out parking lot and take it to the nearest GM service center to our current residence. We weren’t informed which center it would be until later: Putnam Buick Pontiac GMC in Burlingame. We only found out when we got home that they had a 1-​star review & were notorious for awful service. GREAT. (

The guy we dealt with from Loural Towing was very kind, helpful, and friendly. He arrived within 5 minutes, even before we got the call from GM to inform us that the towers would «arrive in 25 minutes.» He even offering to take us home! He handled the car gently as he drove it onto the truck and explained to us the standard procedure — he would drop the car + keys off at the service center in Burlingame as directed by the GM rep, and the next morning, we would have to call to authorize service on the car.
We haven’t received a bill yet for the service. The GM website does state that while roadside assistance is free, the tow service is usually one that the car owner incurs, but considering this was a mechanical failure on GM’s part, we’re hoping they’ll cover it. We’ll have to see what happens next and if we do end up having to foot the bill, hope that it’s a reasonable amount.
