King’s Union 76

I went to 4 gas stations to get air for a leaky tire before I pulled into King’s Union 76. Daniel, the cashier on duty, could not have been nicer. He helped me fill the tire and check the PSI on all four of them before pronouncing things A-​OK. He was the only one on duty and could easily have blown me off, but he didn’t. I will be returning to this station in the future!

Great customer service — my car is older with lots of mileage. They have been helping me keep it in good running condition until i can get another. Shuttle to my work in redwood city too!

Awful and incompetent. I was towed here after my car broke down on I-​280 because it was a «AAA-​approved» garage. The next day, the mechanic calls me and says the fuel line is pinched and needs to be replaced, and says he’ll call me with an estimate before he makes any changes. At closing time, the mechanic finally calls again and says that they’ve not only replaced the fuel line without giving me an estimate or notifying me they’re doing so, but that the car still doesn’t run. The mechanic couldn’t even tell me how much the fuel line replacement cost over the phone. My dad and I finally rescue my car from these knuckleheads the next day only to find that there’s NO COMPRESSION in the engine, which should’ve been one of the first things they checked in their $ 150 «diagnostic» session. Evidently, the only diagnosis they did was simply looking at a slightly bent — but still functional! — fuel line and taking the easiest route possible. Not only that, but while my dad and I were working on the car, we found that the nuts holding the cover to the timing belt in place were FINGER TIGHT, and that one of the spark plugs was barely hanging on by a thread. The poor condition the mechanics left the car in was NEVER mentioned to us as we were leaving the lot, and if we had gotten the car fixed on our own, we surely would’ve had bigger problems later on as a result of their negligence. They get two stars instead of one only because they did the right thing and didn’t charge me for the fuel line. The rest of the staff is nice and I’m sure the gas is fine, but don’t ever take your car here for repairs unless you enjoy having a headache.

Just had my f350 diesel repaired and smogged. Great courteous prompt service. I had heard some clunking in the front end before taking it in. John let me know (with out me saying anything before hand) that my front end was loose so had them fix this as well. Thanks for looking out for my safety!

100 octane fuel, and they even give you a Sunoco sticker. Enough said!

Got a smog check done while I walked to lunch. Quick, easy, a fair price and helpful staff. And, they have 100 octane gas for your high performance engine.

We’ve been coming here for many years. King’s is the best place for service and quality gas at a good price. The people are great, and Mike King (owner) is a really great guy.

I have a Cadillac ATS 2.0T so its badass to find a gas station that sells 100 octane (as of 9÷14÷13 it was $ 7.47). Mixed 8 gallons of 100 with 8 gallons of 91 and the car runs like its on a track. Its nice knowing there is a gas station that sells the good stuff and it is reasonably priced. Who cares about snacks and bathroom quality.

I go totally out of my way on a semi-​regular basis for a fill up and a spare gas tank. Is it because this place is amazing? No. It’s because they have race gas. My car like 95 octane so I come here to make a mix of 91 + 100. Half of each and I’m rockin’ 95.5. It beats paying $ 10+ a gallon on the race track.
Plan ahead and bring a spare tank so you’re not consuming the expensive stuff on the drive to a race track.

They still have 100 Octane fuel, right at the pump. Mixed 2 parts 91 octane + 1 part 100 to get 94 octane. Averages out to $ 5.33/gallon (³⁄₂₀₁₃)
The station is clean, and the squeegees work well.
Halfway between 101 and 280 on Woodside Rd.

I have been coming to Mike for years even when he was a Chevron gas station. I always get excellent service and only the repairs I need. They never push for unnecessary repairs. There have been a few times when I asked for certain services for my car and Mike has told me that I don’t need them and I would be wasting my money. His son Chris also services my car and he provides the same high quality service like his dad. I hope when his father retires, Chris will take over the business. It’s hard to find a good, honest mechanic and King’s 76 fits that description.

I drive up, fill up my gas and drive off. Never had a problem.

Local gas station with usually lower prices PLUS very good auto repair guys that take time to tell you about the problem and alternatives. I’ve used them foe maintenance of my two cars for years and trust them because they care. The owner is very much involved with his community. Go there for friendly professional service and fair prices.

Just like the 76 in San Jose off Almaden Expressway, this one also has 100 octane Sunoco race gas at the pump. It’s a little more expensive — $ 6.39/gal as of 9÷15÷10 — but the closer drive from SF negates the extra cost. I don’t think the one in San Jose is Sunoco gas (a trusted name when it comes to high perfomance fuel) but at this rate it doesn’t matter. I filled the tank with 4 gallons of 100 and 8 gallons of 91, effectively making the equivalent of 94 octane which is what my car requires. Look for the pumps with the blue nozzle. Until the day I run water injection, this is the only place I’ll get gas for this particular car.

100 octane!!!
it aint cheap but it’s worth every cent. the car pulls harder and the throttle is more responsive on cars with high compression ratios. it’s fun to do every once in a while. plus…280 is just down the road so you can let’ er rip!

Open 24 hours, 100 Octane and close by? Who could want anything else!
But Officer, The inside of my car’s gas tank lid says ‘Minimum 91 Octane’
For all you junkies like myself, get some race gas, and go out to conquer the world!
Just make sure you look for the two pumps back to back with the blue nozzles when you pull up. I could immediately feel the difference from mixing 10 gallons 91 octane with almost 3 gallons 100 octane. Woot! Power!
Just be sure to obey all zoned speed limits. I’m not condoning you to fill ‘er up and let ‘er rip, but who am I kidding???
At $ 6.39 per gallon, it’s about twice the price of 89 octane, but once in a while it’s fun for shtz and giggles.
It’s good to know you don’t have to travel far south to San Jose or up north to Infineon Raceway to get some quality race gas.

Reviewing a gas station, wtf?
Yes, because this one has the consistently best prices of the major-​name stations in this area.
But, the main reason?
100 octane.

After letting my Civic rot for about 3 and ½ years, I dump in 5 gallons of the sweet nectar called 100-​Octane, and a new battery. I start the car, and the car runs around like an obedient German Shepherd. Thank goodness for this particular 76 station!
NOTE: If you’ve let your car sit for a long period of time (like a year), regular gasoline will lose octane points, at around 1 per month.

All I gotta say is…
100 Octane!
