Convenient for me and great pricing. Love the Leo and Tri Tip. Those are must haves.

Kevin and his team are top notch. I used them to cater my son’s 3^rd birthday at a park and they brought a terrific quintessential hotdog stand. Another time we used Kevin and his team to cater a 40^th birthday party. They took care of all the set up and clean up and the food was excellent. (Despite it being hig summer and in the high 90s!) I especially recommend the sirloin burger sliders. Now Kevin is expanding to offer a deli adjacent to Flamin Dogs… their sandwiches are fresh and delicious. I strongly recommend for events and simple lunches.

Cool sandwich spot hidden in Redwood City. Had the Baked Leo, which was warm and delicious. The guys there were really nice and appreciate each person that comes in. Will make it a weekly routine!

Went here on a whim as I had an appt. nearby. What a great hidden gem! Service was fantastic and their chicken salad sandwich was by far the best I’ve ever had. They made it to order — fresh chicken breast chopped while I waited. The bread was super fresh. I will be sure to stop by this place every time I’m in the area.

Super friendly staff (Kevin is awesome). Potatoes salad just like mom used to make. Gotta try the steak sandwich with sauted portabella mushroom and melted swiss in a steak bun with mayo… Can’t wait to come back!
Parking was a hassle at lunchtime, but then discovered they even have parking, for their customers!

I get the Baked Leo everytime I come here and today even though it took twice as long as usual it’s receiving a 5 star:) Met the owners daughter today and she is a peach!!! Id like to quote her «it’s good to have a purpose, you know?!» And let me add that she can’t be older than 10

Great service, great sandwich, super friendly staff. I finally completed my survey of meatball subs in the RWC area, and Flamin Dogs gets my award for best in flavor. Meatballs, Italian sausage, cheese (provolone, swiss) and sauce in a toasted roll = carnivorous bliss.
If you work nearby, do try this place. You will not regret it!

5 years ago I moved my office to a building around the corner from this place. I was excited to a have convenient lunch place literally a 1 minute walk from my office. I would go there 2 to 3 times per week (buying lunch for my wife and I). I would spend close to $ 50 to $ 60 per week. All my employees started going there. The owner always treated me as very good customer.
One day, I called ahead and order a sandwich. The owner says «Hey, have you ever tried the Uncle Louie sandwich? (he names some of the sandwiches). I told that I will try it. I arrive 10 minutes later and his mother is working the counter. She gives me the sandwich and says «That will be $ 9.00». I look at her perplexed because the menu behind her says the Uncle Louie is $ 6.95. The mother looked at me and smiled and said «It is $ 9.00 because you are such a good customer that he made you a special one. Is that OK?» I said «Oh, I see. That is fine». I paid and swore never to go back.
Fast forward 4 ½ years…
I decided 6 months ago to give it another shot. The sandwiches were mediocre, but convenient.
3 months ago I ordered two sandwiches. I picked up the sandwiches and I was so disappointed that words simply can not describe, so I will not go into details. I left the sandwiches on the counter, told the clerk to keep the money, and I walked out fuming. My big regret, aside from giving the place a second chance, was telling the clerk to keep the money. Suffice it to say that I will not be going back again, period

This place is a MA & PA shop and located on a busy strip (right around the corner from my workplace) where the car dealerships, small businesses, dmv & law offices are located — oh I forgot to mention the Probation office too haha but I’ve ordered from here about 3 times and I usually like what I get. I don’t LOVE it but if you’re craving a good sandwich to fill you up, this will do. I usually order the tri tip w/​the jalapeño spread & a side of potato salad. It’s pretty good and the owner is super nice. I’ll probably try something different next time I order from here.

Good selection and lot of customizations

Was craving hot dogs and read the great reviews on Unilocal.Drove all the way from Mountain View on the strength of the reviews. Sadly, I was disappointed.
I ordered a hot dog and hot link, both with mustard and sauerkraut. When I got the food, the buns, mustard and sauerkraut were all cold and the sausages were lukewarm at best (but as far as I could tell, fully cooked).
It took more than 10 minutes to get my food so given the state my food was in, my theory is that the sausages were pre-​cooked and sitting out for a while rather than made to order, they were too busy to fill the order until after 10 minutes had passed and then when they finally got around to serving the food, they forgot to reheat the sausages before sending it out.
I was hoping for better so that my trip would have been worthwhile.

Hole-​in-​the-​wall that only opens on weekdays, clearly serving the nearby office buildings. However, the hot dogs are pretty good — much better than the place down Whipple. It’s nothing like the dogs they serve up on the east coast, but it’s pretty decent as far as hot dog places in California go.
They seem to have a huge selection of sandwiches as well, might be good for to-​go.

Great place to grab a sandwich. Friendly staff and delicious choices. The Uncle Louie and the Baked Leo are both excellent decisions.

Get the tri-​tip sandwich with jalapeño mayo & bacon. I followed the advice of a Unilocal tip, passed on the hot dog and ordered this sandwich. It was a HOME RUN! My husband got the Italian sausage — I wasn’t a fan. The tri-​tip sandwich will definitely keep me coming back. YUM. I think I could have one of those once a week!

I work nearby and for the sake of convenience I want to at least like this place. However, I find myself consistently being disappointed. The last three times I’ve eaten here the bread is dry and lifeless. If it were a cafeteria it might be acceptable but for the price (usually around $ 10 for sammie, chips, and drink) it falls terribly short. The only saving grace is that the people are extremely nice.

I was at the San Carlos Hometown Days celebration and they hadn’t set up the ATM’s yet; all I had was credit cards. I go to order food and ask them if they took credit cards, they said no, «But don’t worry about it, just pay us next time,» I was blown away. So I ordered hot dogs and drinks for me and my kids, and on top of that the owner Kevin gave me free full sized samples of his chicken kabob and tri-​tip sandwich. Wow, not only was all of the food great, I couldn’t believe how nice the staff was. I will definitely be a regular at their restaurant. And yeah, I went back the next day for more, and paid them back. Thanks Kevin!

So we went on another hot dog excursion and we took a drive to Flamin Dogs. It’s hidden on a small street in front of a few car dealerships. Limited street parking since it gets busy quickly during lunch time however there is parking in the back with a few spots nobody seemed to use. We both ordered your normal hotdog which was ok nothing really special or stood out to me as well as their sandwich. I probably wouldn’t go back but least I could say been there done that. It’s not that bad for the business person that works nearby for lunch but not a really a go out of your way kind of deal.

This review is for the hot dog stand they had at the Jazz Festival. Friendly service and quick. They have extra toppings that normally other hot dog stands/​places would charge extra for such as hot peppers/​jalapenos/​onions/​etc…
I decided to get the chicken apple sausage for $ 5 and a soda for $ 1. Not bad for Festival food pricing but could be cheaper for a hot dog!
It was a big sausage. oh yes big. I liked the type of bun that they chose to accompany their dogs. Sweet and soft/​toasty.
Not a. OH MY GAWD i need ANOTHER ONE type of hot dog. But it is one of the better chicken apple ones I’ve had.
