Every Woman Health Club

I love this gym. period.
I found this gym through Unilocal and what a hidden gem it turned out to be! I have been going to this gym for a few months now. The people here are very sweet and friendly. The women who use the gym are also nice people.
Nobody judges you. You are free to do what you want to do, the way you want to do it without worrying about what others might think. You can see women of all sizes and fitness levels working out here. This gym stays true to its philosophy — working out is just about feeling good no matter how you look.
They have sufficient equipments. I have been to this gym at different times of the day and it is never crowded and I have never had to wait for any equipment. Their classes are great. I use the premium month to month membership (89 $/​mo) and it works great for me.
This gym is like sharing your own gym with few good friends. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to workout.

In the redwood city area for a month or two and worried about finding somewhere to work out. I was so happy to find a women’s only fitness center. I have absolutely nothing against men, I am, married to one. But I feel much more comfortable working out around other women. Stephanie was extremely pleasant and offered me a five day pass to try it out, which was wonderful. I will definitely continue working out here after my pass is up. Not a huge overwhelming place, and enough cardio equipment and free weights and weight machines to keep me satisfied. They also offer a variety of classes. For any women out there who are afraid to join a gym, try this one out, you will be glad you did!!!

I signed up for the basic $ 49/​mo membership for my lunchtime at work. It’s got all that a woman’s gym would need and the staff are super friendly. I really love that it’s women only! Despite it being on the smaller side, it’s never super busy so you get to use the equipment you need to. You can also get a punch card to try it out first.
They also have Zumba and yoga classes and belly dancing etc. Although I just use the gym since I go here on my lunch break :)

It’s with sadness that I write this review. But, I think they really need to change a particular policy. I had been going to this gym for 2 yrs. It’s not the gym itself that is great, It’s the women who go there, that make it what it is. Also, some great classes and teachers. First year, signed up for a year and paid in full $ 828. Membership expired, and I signed up for another year, and paid in full $ 828 up front. My membership was due to expire, so I started asking around what most do. Seems that most pay by the month. So I was considering that this next time around. The membership did expire. And after that happened, I got a Groupon in my mail that was offering a sizable discount at the gym. You could sign up for either a one month, 3 month, or 6 month membership. Six months was offered at a great price of $ 79…that’s a lot less than $ 412. Problem was, the *fine print* stated that you had to be a new member (my membership had expired, so I assumed I would be) and you couldn’t have visited the gym within the past 12 months. So, I called and spoke to Ann, who is one of the managers there. I asked if they would consider waiving this as I was a loyal member, and had paid in full twice. Nope, wouldn’t consider it. So then I asked about «what about loyalty?» Doesn’t that mean something to the management? She explained that they did offer little perks now and then (this month was something about free neck massage). So I gave this some thought, and came to the conclusion that I would not sign up again. Knowing myself, I would be angry every time I would walk into this place knowing that I had paid the full price when the person next to me had gotten a better deal. So, they have lost a loyal client. I don’t see the harm, in cutting a little slack to those who would frequent the gym more than others a little price break now and then. I have seen the effect of when they have offered Groupon in the past. The class floor gets really busy for a month, and then drops back to «the regulars». I understand that the Groupon is to build business. But they should take care in keeping those that are loyal, and show up frequently. So, I’m looking for something else, and may return after my 12 months of being penalized is up, and Groupon has offered another deal there.

I am so excited about finding this gym! I feel like this is the type of place I have been looking for for so long. Usually going to the gym makes me feel nervous and judged, but I went in for my first workout yesterday and everyone was friendly, welcoming and quickly put me at ease!
Like other people have written in their reviews this gym is not huge but they have all of the basic machines and I didn’t have to wait to use anything. They offer classes like belly dancing, yoga, zumba and a few more, I can’t wait to try them all!
The locker room was spotless and roomy, they have two private changing areas as well as three mirror stations. One thing that really impressed me was the small touches, they loan out head phones (I could not find mine anywhere!!), there are lotion and female products in the restroom and a blow dryer as well. I know these things are necessarily WOW factors. but in my opinion small touches are the most thoughtful!
I had a great workout and look forward to many more at this gym!

I discovered this gym because they have an Iyengar yoga class there and I’m glad I did because this gym is a hidden gem for women in RWC. It’s not a big place but I can see the women who work out there really enjoy it. Everyone is friendly, the staff as well as the patrons. The Iyengar class is taught by Maria on Mon and Fri mornings and I look forward to it each week. They have a lot of props for the class: blankets, blocks, chairs, and bolsters.
As for the gym equipment, they don’t have as much equipment as like a Crunch or Club One gym, but when I go, it’s never crowded so you don’t need to have 50 cardio machines. They have all the other equipment though: free weights, mats, bosu balls, etc.
The locker room is also nice and basic. There are lockers, you bring your own lock. There is 1 or 2 showers, 2 bathroom stalls, 2 mirror counter areas to primp, and 2 large changing rooms.
It’s a no frills women’s gym and you can either get a membership OR a punch card which is nice. You can even get a yoga specific punch card, too. :)

Every Woman Health Club is underrated. I been going here for the past few weeks and I honestly think this is the most amazing and comfortable gym I ever been to. I normally hate going to a gym and I’ve tried every gym in the 7×7. Before EWHC, I was at Powerhouse a few blocks down. I have no regrets leaving there for EWHC. The staff is super friendly and addresses you by your first name and ask how you are feeling every time you walk in. There is no wait AND no musty smells from other gym goers. It feels like your own private gym every time you work out. Well, maybe in my case since I go during lunch and there’s usually no one there at that time. The crowd is definitely older. like mid 40s and up but that doesn’t bother me. You can freely walk about in your tank top and short shorts without any perverted guys lurking around since it’s a women’s only gym. The best thing is that I actually love coming here. Keep in mind, there is no weight scale here as they focus more on feeling stronger and not on the number.

Every Woman Health Club is a great gym. I love that it has never been crowded when I am their despite the small size. I like not feeling like I am on display when I am there. The attitude you find many big gyms does not exist at Every Woman.
My favorite class at the gym is Belly Dancing with Malia! She is a great instructor. She takes the time to teach students the steps and moves. I always go home and show my boyfriend my new sexy moves…

I miss this Gym so much!
I recently moved up to Vacaville and had to relocate my life… one of the saddest parts about doing that was that I had to leave the club.
The owners, Stephanie and Anne (and the rest of the staff for that matter) are the sweetest most respectful women ever. They really put an effort into making it more than a gym, but a place where you can be comfortable being you, have fun, and de stress. There is no judgement there. There are no sales people.
It’s quaint… they have 4 treadmills, 4 ellipticals, various machines (leg press, bench press, crunch machine etc.), a ton of free weights, medicine balls, yoga mats, resistance bands you name it. There’s even a little nook with a table and chairs to unwind in, complete with books, magazines and board games.
They have a few big fans you can move around which I was a huge fan of!
They have a nice class selection as well.
And the cherry on top is that there are no nasty sweaty men in there!!!
If you’re looking for a quiet gym that is not a meat market, this is the place.

Every Woman Health Club is a full gym for any and all women. The club’s philosophy is simple yet profound. The philosophy is for women to measure their fitness in terms of increasing strength, endurance, mobility and flexibility.
I feel so fortunate to have found EWHC. Stephanie and Ann have a special heart for women and the issues we face within ourselves.

Let me start out by saying that I absolutely hate going to the gym. I’ve belonged to several in the past, and always quit. But this place is different. It’s very accepting of all body types, is low pressure, and everyone who works there is SO nice!
That said, I don’t actually have a membership, but I have been taking classes here on and off for years. The great thing about this place is that they allow you to buy a punch card and take classes without being a member, which I know you CAN’T at other places like Crunch. The punch card allows you to try out a bunch of different classes to see which ones are right for you. Currently I’m taking the Hatha Yoga class on Thursday nights and the Pilates Sculpt (which is really more of an aerobics class) on Saturdays. And I’m planning to try the Zumba class soon. For me personally, I need the «class environment» to get me motivated vs. working out on my own. So the variety of classes are perfect for me and my schedule.

I love this place and just renewed my membership to take advantage of the great special they are running (no membership fee!). Any woman of any age, shape and fitness level will comfortable here. It is a friendly environment and the owners really make you feel welcome. This is a regular gym with machines, free weights, trainers, classes etc and not like a Curves. You will not feel intimidated coming here and can go at any pace you want and feel comfortable with. If you are a woman and have been wanting to try a gym but dont like the idea of going to Crunch, 24 Hour Fitness or Powerhouse, this is your place!

This gym is perfect for me. So, I guess the question is who am I?
Well for starters I’d like to say that I think I’m pretty cool and love me for me & like me just the way I am. I think that’s why I love this health club. They know real women like me. And do not judge. (I dont care what the other clubs say, at EWHC you dont have to worry about being perfect).
I was lucky to learn about this little neighborhood gym in downtown Redwood City, CA. My husband (who is a member of the CRUNCH) down the street drives by the EWHC on his way home every day. He told me about it. He knew I would not set foot into a place like the CRUNCH or 24 hour fitness. I’m so self conscious and get so intimidated by the mainstream gyms. I almost believe I’ve «gym-​a-​phobic.» When I walked into the EWHC I felt so comfortable and welcomed here.
All of my doctors have poked, prodded, and tested me and they can not understand how an overweight person like me could be healthy. I do not have diabetes. I do not have high blood pressure. I do not have high cholesterol. I’m just a healthy overweight sexy lady, okay! I do know the benefits of exercise, and have wanted to work out — at my own pace.
After my primary care doctor basically made me feel horrible about myself, I walked into the club, pretty much a wreck from the guilt trip my doctor put me through. They were so nice and welcoming and really cheered me up. By the time I left I was actually excited and pumped to start working out there. Not because my doctors wanted me to, but because I finally found a place that supports me the way I need to be supported — with friendship, smiles, and encouragement.
So, if you live in the area and want a comfortable place to exercise and surround yourself with nice people — this is the place to join.

I am not a big sports person but I like this place so much, it makes me want to work out. I’ve tried a few classes and they are really good, the trainers are amazing and it’s really cool seeing women of all ages working out together and wanting to be healthy… this is what I like most about this place. And they are super friendly!
If you don’t want to commit to the membership, they have a 10-​entry punchcard that doesn’t expire and that’s perfect for those who want to try out the classes but don’t go very often.
I didn’t want to recommend this place because I don’t want it to get too crowded ;) but they do a great job so I thought they deserved a great review!

A great place for just working out and not feeling pressured or insecure or having to listen to grunting men discuss the muscle size.
Great parking and just enough equipment to get in a good workout.

I’ve been a member of EWHC for about 2+ months now and I really like it. I’m not a big exercise fan in general, having joined many many clubs over the years but falling off the wagon within a month, but something about EWHC is very welcoming to me. Everything is well maintained, Stephanie and Anne are terrific and so friendly, and I really enjoy my time there.
They also have some fabulous trainers, which I’m definitely taking advantage of! I like that they had an «Ask the Trainer» week, because I was able to meet all of them and then choose the person who I liked to work with the most.
I’ve taken one class to date, and am signed up for another … I’m glad they have a nice selection of classes.
The parking lot is big and the neighborhood is nice. I heartily recommend this club for every woman :-)

I’ve been a member of Every Woman Health Club since the beginning. At EWHC I have always felt encouraged without feeling pressured. Stephanie and Anne are really friendly and always take time to show me how to use equipment and answer questions.
Some of their class instructors and personal trainers have many years of experience (I worked with them at other clubs before this one opened).
Available classes change but at the moment they have fun classes such as Bollywood Dance and Belly Dance, as well as Yoga. They have a Conditioning Basics class specifically for older women and women who need gentle exercise.
The dance floor is well maintained. Equipment includes treadmills, elliptical trainers, and stationary bicycles of different models, basic weight training machines, free weights, fitness balls, fitness bands, yoga blocks and more. The club is air-​conditioned.
They also have spa and massage services. The massage room is quiet and comfortable.
You don’t have to sign up for a contract to use the club. They do have contact packages, but you can also pay for a month at a time with no contract, pay for multiple months upfront at a discount, drop in to use the equipment or to take classes, and buy multiple-​visit punch cards.
One of the packages includes unlimited free classes. The senior package is especially a good deal – 50% off the première membership that includes free classes.
There’s usually a coupon on the web site good for a free visit and there’s usually a special on membership.
They’re open weekdays 6am to 9pm and shorter hours on weekends.
They have a large parking lot and a dressing room with lockers and showers.
I use the club at mid-​day and it’s not crowded at that time. I never have to wait for the equipment I want to use.

It’s a small studio with an array of equipment and a class area with mirrors. I started coming here first to take Nora’s lunch time classes. Now I am member and come when I can. I get eye brow waxes from Vanessa, too. She works with you to get what you want. Owners Stephanie and Anne are great! They are fun to chat with it. The atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable.

Stephanie and Anne are fantastic! This is an all women health club where there are no scales! It’s good to go to a health club where you can feel very comfortable; not pressured; and just workout. Different types of equipment to use; free weights to Zumba class. You can sign up for Restorative Yoga and experience zoning out to the calm voice of instructor Serena to put you in a very relaxed mode. Membership is reasonable and the health club has ample parking. There aren’t large health club signs for this facility; but you’ll manage to find it on Jefferson Street. Have fun!
