The Friendship Circle provides free and low cost social and recreational activities for youth with special needs and student volunteers. We provide programs at home, at school and in the community.

History

Established in 2005.

The Friendship Circle exists to bring happiness and companionship to children and young adults with special needs by celebrating their uniqueness and individuality; to create renewed strength, comfort and peace of mind to the families of these special individuals; to foster the values of altruism, compassion and acceptance among student volunteers and to heighten community awareness, sensitivity and encourage a sense of responsibility and involvement. It is our belief that every person is precious and capable of love, connection and friendship.

Our goal is to continue growing and providing more opportunities for generations to come. Through our friends we find joy, peace, hope, and identity. The Friendship Circle will continue fostering these core values until every child and young adult with special needs living in the South Bay has true friendships. Through the generous support of our donors and sponsors, we will be able to keep our doors (and arms) open to all in need of a friend.
