Got my hair highlight and colored with Martin yesterday! He is amazing very thorough with his work. He patiently work on each strand to make sure it is going to turn out nice. His shampoo head massage is amazing! He Is Very friendly and sweet ! I highly recommend him!

Love my hair by Martin with a lil help from Farouk. Martin was so gentle and keen. Love how the color turned out. There was a little chunk of blonde hair on front and Martin fixed it the day after. Service was excellent. I think I found my salon. I’ll be going back later for touch up.

I love my hair, I saw the guy who originally did my hair do an amazing color and cut while I was there (it was a unique color and he blended it beautifully!!) The owner also made me feel pretty for the first time in a long time. I will recommend them to everyone.

Just received a color, cut, and blowout after a long hiatus of hair dyes and salon visits during my pregnancy. I’m extremely pleased with the outcome. Martin was my hair stylist. Not super chatty and was very quick and attentive to what I needed. Always confirming cut length before going for it and made sure I was comfortable with water and magazines to keep me occupied. Plus I scored parking right in front of the salon which is a huge plus! Will return in the future.

I have been a client of Farouk for ten years or more. He is very very good at what he does… both color and cut/​styling. He is fair regarding pricing and has a very strong business ethic. He only employees the best people in his salon. He takes pride in his work and his business. I highly recommend anyone who works at Salon Farouk. I will never go to anyone else for my hair needs. He has always been reliable and great.

I’m sincerely surprised that this place has 5 stars, but it’s probably for the stylists work. Because the customer service of the owners pretty much lack etiquette and sincerity.
First of all, I booked an appointment a week in advance. The owner’s wife booked it. So I go to my appointment and they don’t have me in their schedule. They kept going back and forth with me on this instead of honoring what I’m telling them. They make me wait 45 minutes and while I wait, the owner keeps telling me we usually charge for long or thick hair. Who does that?
My hair cut, color, and blow out were nice, but I’ve had better. Go to The Loft instead in Manhattan Beach.

Went to Salon Farouk today for cut and color. I wanted to match my natural color since I have gray, but very little. Martin was my stylist and he did a great job! He cut my hair perfectly and matched my color perfectly. He has only been at this salon a short time, but did hair in Argentina. I will definitely be back, it was a good experience and I love how my hair feels and looks.

I found a great groupon deal for cut, color and style and decided to promptly make an appt.
I was about 10mins to my appt, and there was no one at the front desk to greet me.5−8mins later the owner asks if I’ve been helped and I say no. He quickly apologizes and introduces me to my stylist, Martin!
We sit down and discuss what I want. He doesn’t offer too many suggestions, but hands me a book of color options.
Martin was straight to the point and not too talkative. He worked quickly through my hair and I must say he did A GREAT JOB!. He explained step by step what he was applying to my hair and told me how much he would take off. When he was styling and blow drying he did another check and trimmed off a bit more. I was more than satisfied with my results!

I thought it was about time I update my Salon Farouk review, and I have to say… I still LOVE this place! I’ve been getting my hair done by Farouk for 10 years and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else! He won’t just dye your hair and let you walk out looking crazy… He will sit with you and help pick the right shade that will look good on your skin tone. I’ve had every color from jet black to golden blonde and I’ve gotten compliments on every single color. He’s also a pro at copying pictures and explaining how it will look with my hair texture… which is great because I’m always finding random pictures on pinterest and requesting new styles.

There are salons on just about every corner in the South Bay, but Salon Farouk has some of the best hairdressers around! My husband and I regularly see Gayle, who is not only an expert in his craft, but also has the sharpest wit which is fun to be around. He worked with me last year when I got married and did the hair for my bridal party at a great rate. Talk about drama queens! Each gal had their own unique issue/​ego related to their appearance and Gayle navigated the drama-​waters with grace and class. Check out some of our wedding photos here to take a gander at his craftsmanship. There are a lot of things related to the wedding that I would do different, utilizing Gayle’s expertise ISN’T one of them. I couldn’t have gotten through the day without him.

Gayle has been coloring, cutting, and styling my hair for 11 years. I consistently get compliments on my hair. He is not only a great hairstylist, but a genuine and caring person. I highly recommend him!!!

Three years ago I moved and lost touch with my previous colorist. I have not been happy with the few stylists I’ve tried in Redondo Beach and I was desperate to get my hair colored before the holidays. I looked on Unilocal and Salon Farouk had really good reviews, so I called and asked for an appointment ASAP. I talked to Farouk himself. He was totally booked but scheduled an appointment for me at closing time for the next day.
As I got there for my appointment, his last client was just leaving, with beautiful hair! Farouk really listened when I told him that my light brown hair turns brassy when lightened. I was getting blond highlights, so he counteracted my hair’s tendency to turn orange by creating a blend of hair coloring just for me.
Farouk was super nice! He’s warm and friendly but he is not over the top chatty (thank God! I had a headache!). The salon is relaxed and clean. It didn’t take long at all to do my hair– and the hair washing bowls are extra comfortable on sensitive necks. Also, their prices are very reasonable!
I am MORE than happy with my hair color! I am totally impressed! No brassiness, no orange, no damage. Just natural looking champagne and sandy colored highlights.
I highly recommend Salon Farouk. I have found my new colorist!!! Yay!

I came to Farouk based on a coworkers recommendation. I’ve had the same hair stylist for the past 10 years and needed a change. The thought of having someone else do my hair was downright scary. What if they destroy my hair and make me look like a poodle?! Ok, not that bad but I was apprehensive but decided to give it a shot.
The salon is bright, clean and inviting. Conveniently located off PCH 10 min from my house is great. Immediately I was put to ease by Farouk, he listened very patiently to my requests and never once made me feel rushed. He definitely takes his time to get it right. My color and cut turned out beautifully. I couldnt ask for anything more!

Getting my hair cut here was something of an odd experience:
I got to town badly needing a haircut and after a quick Unilocal search I called and was given an appointment with Farouk the next morning. Yay!
When I arrived he greeted me and introduced me to one of his other stylists and asked if it was okay if she cut my hair. Sure, no problem! There were good reviews of everybody here.
Farouk then proceeded to get out his cell phone and talk to someone the entire time I was getting my hair cut. While sitting on the couch in front. To me this was entirely unprofessional, but to each his own.
The awkwardness continued when one of the other stylists sat down behind the front desk and appeared to glare at my stylist the entire time. Or me, I’m not sure. But every time I looked up into the mirror this lady was staring one of us down. It was weird.
Honestly the entire salon seemed on edge. Nobody seemed to want to acknowledge each other; I felt like I had walked into a room after a big fight. I was relieved when I could get out of there.
The cut itself was fine, nothing spectacular but looked good and has grown out well. I would probably give the salon another chance were it not for the ambiance. I left feeling much more stressed out than when I arrived.
