I went here for an evening gown and fell in love. I will be competing in Ms. United States system and will be back to look for pageant gown. Renko was amazing and very helpful and I cannot wait to get back and try on more dresses.

Renko is a ladies boutique that carries unique, elegant designs. Yes, it’s a bit expensive(it’s not Tar-zhay)…but the quality of the clothing justifies the prices. Service is exactly what you’d expect at an upscale shop like this: wonderful. The staff is accommodating and friendly. (There’s a reason Renko has succeeded in its same location in Riviera Village for more than 35 years…) At Renko, you’ll find day wear as well as gorgeous formal gowns. The designs are stunning. And there’s something for everyone — all body shapes, all ages. At my last visit I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Renko, herself. She aims to please. I have my eye on a glorious top, in a champagne color. Renko brought out a fabric sample chart to show me about a dozen other colors available for this same top. If alterations are needed, no problem. The European footwear shop is located, conveniently, right next door! Get your dress and your shoes without moving your car, ha. Speaking of cars, across the street from the boutique is the big village parking lot. The meters here give you more time for your quarters than the street parking. Save $ on parking, buy more cool stuff! No need to drive to Beverly Hills to find great fashion if you live in South Bay.

It’s all very personal, fashion is. So to me what might never be right for me, might be amazing for you. I shop at Renko often, but very rarely buy. And this is not because they aren’t adhering to the Be All That You Can Be by which I live, but because the taste and styles are quite different than mine. + 1 Star — Quality. Everything in this bijou boutique is exquisitely made. There are not multiples in a dozen sizes, that all just fell off the latest steamer in from China. No, these are each hand picked to be excellent, and sometimes that means only a few sizes. + 1 Star — Sizes. I am a super small. My mum is a medium/mature(i.e., a 14 – 16 because of where things have settled in so to speak). But there are items here for both of us. What is done smartly and correctly at this boutique is not to size an item in sizes that would make the wearer look grotesque one way or the other. Some items look better on a more mature figure. And some better on a slimmer one. At Renko, there seems to be an acute awareness of this, and stock reflects this smarts. +1 Star — Customer Service. A jacket that I recently saw and loved and had to splurge on was made by a local designer. It was incredibly reasonably priced(at $ 225). But it fit me a bit oddly in the back/armpits. Shirley, on duty when I was there, arranged for the designer to come by and tailor the clothes to me the following day. Perfect fitting, perfect fit! Low charge($ 35 for tailoring which was several areas, on a beaded jacket)?! Wow! +1 Star — Parking. Super easy in this Riviera Village location. Meters are easy and also a few free spots at Trader Joe’s or the local banks. You have to come to this store to get a sample of it’s exquisitely tasteful owner’s take on feminine fashion. It’s nothing like what’s trendy, but it’s also not dowdy. It’s timeless, more like style and less like fashion.
