Homemade Authentic Mexican Cuisine established in 2002. We take pride in making everything from scratch and fresh daily. What makes us unique is that we do not use any lard in any of our cooking :) If you love fresh healthy authentic Mexican food please come give us a try. Vegetarian options are available too!

History

Established in 2002.

Our recipes originated from our grandmother who passed down her authentic original home recipes to our family. Mama Betty was from Tlaxco, Tlaxcala, Mexico, she loved to cook for everyone. It’s our humble honor to continue cooking her food and preserving her traditions. Her food is so good and we wanted to share her dishes with everyone else.

This place is awesome. The service is wonderful, the waiters are very friendly and come check up on you constantly. I mostly pick up my orders and they always have it done quickly.
The foods great, its one of my family’s favorite spots to go to.
You guys should definitely give it try, it’s great.

This place has the most unbelievable Mexican food, along with service in the south bay. There food is always cooked fresh and with the freshest ingredients. Everything thing on there Menu is mouth watering. Try there wet grilled chicken burrito in the green sauce, smothered in sauce, cheese and sour cream, IT’S THE BOMB.

Enjoyed my meal here. Good home style Mexican food. Simple clean pretty décor. Friendly attentive service. Prompt. Good salsa and cheap beers. Will definitely return. Good place for families.
Try the yummy soup tasty subtle vegetable and onion. Like a lighter version of a French onion soup with melted cheese.
Carne asada is tender and well presented.

Went there for the first time yesterday, and I loved it! Great tortilla soup, and the steak fajitas were amazing. Everything was fresh, the restaurant was low key, and the service was awesome. Also the margaritas were the bomb diggity. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I would definitely recommend La Cocina — their tortilla soup & green enchiladas are great, as well as the salsa and guac! We haven’t been disappointed in anything we’ve ordered. I love the quant patio in the back, too — great to keep in mind for groups.

Worse service… To start off I asked for a corona. They took my id and took it to 3 different staff workers to check if it was real… What. Super slow service I had to wave at our waitress so we can order and even then she ignored us!.. Didn’t asked us how our food was or if we wanted a horchata refill…
My girlfriend ordered a side of salsa that was the size of a regular ramekin, and they charged us 2.75 for it… I’m not cheap. But when you’re getting ripped off for fake salsa. That gets me upset. Was not happy at all with our service. Food could have been better if the service wasn’t so slow. It was an appetite killer. Never coming back again.

I found this nice family owned restaurant to have just the right balance between an americanized and authentic Mexican food restaurant taste. I love that they don’t use lard to cook their food. The enchiladas special is great, and the steak has a really healthy taste, guilt free. Love the patio and the music, it’s probably the best Mexican food restaurant in town, considering the area.

No… won’t be going back to this place. The chile rellenos are breaded with something gross… tasted like corn breading… weird flavor and probably the most disgusting chile rellenos I’ve ever had. Wait staff was very nice. Chips and salsa are decent.

There’s no way this place is a 3.5 star restaurant. Staff is super friendly, chips are hot, guacamole is legit and the green sauce is really good. Shrimp in the Chipotle cream sauce is seriously good. They should bottle it and sell it.

Food is decent however not amazing. Small restaurant. The waiters get stretched thin at times. The waiter can be seen doing it all. Waiting on tables, answering phones doing take out orders all by him or herself. Food comes out pretty quickly.

Nice little family owned restaurant. The Salsa is some of the best in the Southbay, the enchilada’s with green sauce are amazing. So glad to have this gem just a stones through away. In the mood for good eatin, stop on by!

This place was small and quaint and super delicious!!! I’m so glad a visit to Carmax brought my husband and I here!
We had the chips, salsa, small guacamole (it’s not a small, it’s a side, but delish), red and green salsa steak burritos. EVERYTHING was delicious and I’m super picky about the taste of Mexican food. The chips tasted fresh and the salsa was just great! I liked my green salsa steak burrito better than the red, but again, both were delicious!
It’s a small place, but super good and super clean! A must try!

I ordered a steak quesadilla came with rice and fried beans on the side… The food was decent. However, when I asked for salsa the lady taking the orders told me the salsa was only for taco orders… As if.

I was told about this place and never got a chance to come… until today! I’m so glad i did! Our waitress Kenya was so amazing and helpful! Very attentive and the food was great! I got the wet combo burrito with chicken and green sauce and i wanted to take it home but it never made it into the to go box. just that yummy and didn’t make me feel like i was cheating eating it. Chicken was white meat and no hormones!
Even good menu for kids! The baby loved her pollo con papas! Make sure you ask for the Bella Special. chicken is moist and tender for the kids with not as many teeth lol
Salsa was good. even the water tasted good! I definitely will be back!
