Ixta is a true artist and has perfected the craft. She is straight forward, honest, and as any professional who works around a schedule would, she expects you to be on time. she’s been helping me to reshape my brows for many years and has also made my adult acne disappear by recommending PCA which she sells. she has taught me what combination of products work best for my skin type without trying to sell me on anything else. highly recommend her!

Ixta is beyond amazing!!! She took 360 pics of my brows beforehand to visually inform me of what areas were problematic and where she could improve them. She asked what I wanted and how over the next few sessions we can achieve that. I’ve traveled long and far in search of a talented brow shaper and unfortunately out of all my years have come across one. I’m happy to say I’ve found another in Ixta. Not only is she talented, but has a heart of gold. I believe that we attract people in our lives for a reason and if you have the privilege of meeting Ixta, you are well on your way down a path of enlightenment and well… Amazing eyebrows. Everything is fine until Miss Perfection messes up your eyebrows, then it’s not so fine.
UPDATE 4÷4÷16: I finally heard back from Ixta a full 48hrs after my appointment. She texted me an enhanced, zoomed in photo of my crooked eyebrow, and had the nerve to tell me «that erasing the pencil from the corner of my eyebrow will fix the problem». She basically acknowledged that my eyebrows are crooked, but instead of admitting that it was due to her substandard work, she blamed me for it. Yah. Thanks for peeing on my head and then telling me it’s raining, Ixta. I called her to explain that it wasn’t crooked from being pencilled in, but from her careless wax job. The scar in the middle of my brow is pencilled in, but the crooked area on the top corner are actual hairs that she failed to properly wax, not brow pencil. She did not apologize or show contrition, and she became very defensive. Her attitude remained cavalier, remorseless, rude and unprofessional. She hung up on me twice! Zero class. My initial review stands unchanged. If you choose to become her client, pray there’s never a problem.

I’ve been a client of Ixta’s for about a year. I have a scar which cleaves one eyebrow in half, and when I first became Ixta’s client, I explained that I wanted a fuller eyebrow shape in order to best camouflage the scar. Over the past year, we worked together to achieve the desired fullness and shape which best complements the shape of my face. I was very happy with her services.
Fast-​forward one year. I’d had almost grown accustomed to her brusque, almost rude manner: you must be on time and there’s a protocol of knowing when to enter the treatment room; and the rigidity of the appointment process: everything is done via text as she NEVER answers the phone. I showed up on time for my 30 minute appointment, only to be made to wait 10 minutes for her to finish with her previous appointment. I accepted her apology and while she waxed me, she proceeded to disparage the previous client for making her late. When she finished, as I stood up to assess my eyebrows, she poked her head out the door to assure her next client that she’d be right with her, a courtesy which she never showed me. I felt rushed, but I understood her desire to get back on schedule. I paid, tipped and thanked her, and then left.
I realized a few hours later, after I filled in my scarred eyebrow with pencil, that not only were they uneven, but that she took off way too much hair. All the eyebrow hair that I’d painstakingly grown out over the past year, the beautiful, subtle arch and shape that we’d been working to achieve, all gone because she was rushing to get to her next appointment. I immediately texted her a photo asking her to fix it. This was at 3:45pm. She didn’t respond. I called her at 9pm. She didn’t answer the phone. I left a message explaining that I was unhappy with my brows and needed her to fix them before I left town for a trip the following week. She didn’t respond. I texted her again at 11am the following day. She. Completely. Ignored. Me.
Almost 48 hours have passed since I first notified her of the problem, and Ixta has yet to even acknowledge my multiple attempts to contact her. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. She has these high standards of conduct for her clients which she strictly enforces, yet apparently holds herself to a completely different standard. She lacks basic customer service, people and problem solving skills. I wasn’t angry when I discovered the lopsided, thinner eyebrows, but I was annoyed. I mistakenly assumed she’d be so contrite that she’d bend over backwards to accommodate me since it was her mistake. A simple and quick fix, right? Wrong! That’s why I’m angry now. It is absolutely unacceptable and the height of unprofessionalism to completely ignore a client’s complaints and multiple attempts to contact you. I refuse to give my business to someone who is so obviously lacking common courtesy and basic business etiquette that she would resort to such childish behavior.

Ixta does such a fantastic job. She has transformed my thin straight eyebrows to face framing beauties. It’s completely changed my look for the better. She also does terrific facials. Her caring nature and genuine desire accentuate your beauty is a unique find.

Ixta is amazing! I have been going to her for almost a year now. When I first came to her my eyebrows were thin, patchy, and uneven. Ixta designed my new brows to compliment the bone structure of my face. With ever visit to her I noticed an improvement. Now, they are full and symmetrical. I feel gorgeous and have never received so many compliments. Ixta is an artist, so my tip to you is to trust her process… and do not pluck in between visit!
Also, to the horrible woman that left a one star review… it sounds to me like Ixta was trying to improve your eyebrows and you were to stubborn to let her. Unfortunately, you missed out on the best eyebrows of your life;)

Incredibly rude and over priced. I have never been so disrespected by an eyebrow person in my life. There are tons of places in the Southbay that charge half the price and do a way better job and treat there clients with respect. Her studio is in a small cramped back room. There is an ugly spray painted ghetto gate to enter. It feels errry like some died in there. Do not waste your time these people are pretentious and are not skilled at there craft. She told me she was booked and there was no one there. Also a skilled eyebrow artist can rock it out in 15 mins tops. She could’ve been nice and helped me but she treated me like I was garbage. The absolute worst customer service. Tacky outdated décor, parking is a nightmare and her eyebrows look like they are drawn on with a brown sharpie. So Yah if you want a ghetto cheap eyebrow look you can waste your time at this place. I’m just warning you not too. Rozi at Zeba in the galleria does an amazing job so go there. Also Roopas eyebrow threading salon in downtown LA is a million times better if you can make the commute.

I’ve been going to Ixta for eyebrows for the past 8 months. Ixta has an excellent eye and is able to personalize your brows to give you your best shape ever. I’ve been able to watch the progress made after each appointment. I’ve never been happier with my brows and it’s all thanks to Ixta. Depending on where you are at and what you want it could take some time. Be patient. It’s so worth it!
Wanted to also mention that if you are looking for other skincare, Ixta gives incredible facials. She doesn’t upcharge for what she feels your face needs, like extractions. She is highly knowledgable about products, ingredients and explains everything that she is doing. My face looked and felt great.

I’m not a high maintenance person and eyebrows have probably been my most neglected feature. Ixta is helping me learn about how to balance my face and bring out features I didn’t know I had with eyebrow shaping. Long gone are the threading days because I don’t think I can trust anyone but her. She’s genuine and realistic about getting you where you need to be. But be patient because even though eyebrows grow rapidly, this process takes time.

Ixta is wonderful and I would recommend her to anyone looking for great brows. She has brought back my thin eyebrows and shapes them beautifully. I also highly recommend eyebrow tinting.

I am so glad I found Ixta. She is a talented brow artist, and a knowledgable esthetician. You can tell she has a passion for her work, and a passion for helping people. I had never had a facial before, but after hearing her speak her knowledge of skin care, I decided to book her for one. She never tried to sell me anything. I was the one that asked. My adult acne has improved greatly, and my brows have never looked better. She is a kind and caring person. You will not be disappointed with her services.

I have never had eyebrows … They are thin and sparse and don’t do much for my face… Went to ixta and she immediately began a plan to give me brows and in one month it’s already working. Just went to Ixta’s today! She does a careful job at shaping eyebrows, and I have always left very satisfied. My eyebrows are quite downward sloping, but she somehow manages to make it work. I have never gotten my eyebrows done by anyone else nor do I intend to, since Ixta is simply amazing at what she does.

Ixta is an expert at eyebrows, a true artist, and a very kind person. She is by far the best person I have seen to tint and shape eyebrows and I have been many places.

I feel so lucky to have found Ixta! I use to drive to Beverly Hills to get my brows done and I became dissatisfied with that so I Unilocal a brow stylist in the South Bay and Ixta had perfect ratings. She really takes her time with your brows and shapes them to your face. Her work space is clean and private and I’m forever a customer.

Ixta is all about designing your brows to complement your face, rather than following a one-​size-​fits-​all formula that places like Benefit and those quick threading salons use. She did a great job on my eyebrows and has a plan for their future shape. Plus she’s just a really cool person!

I’m in love with my eyebrows now! Ixta shaped my eyebrows to be super natural, but also so flattering for my face. I liked how at the beginning she asked me what I wanted and explained what she was going to do and how it changes the appearance of my face (such as giving me larger eyes). There is no question she knows her eyebrows.
She took me in right on time, and I was out within 20 minutes. The studio is in the back of Michelle’s nails and is very clean and has a nice scent to it. Ixta is also just a very insightful person to talk to if you strike up a conversation with her. I wish I lived nearby so I could always go to her because she’s amazing. Thanks Ixta!!!

There is a reason that this small business owner has averaged nothing but 5 star reviews. Thank you Unilocalers! Located in the heart of the Riviera (in RB)! Ixta is amazing. Professional, courteous & honest — all great qualities a consumer could ever hope for from a business. First off, let me begin with — I am Asian & have Asian eyebrows. For those of you that don’t understand, Asians are sometimes regarded as having eyebrow hairs that grow sparsely & also grow down in direction. I fall under this category. This makes it a bit more difficult to find the correct shape best suited for each individual’s face. Just like some of Ixta’s other clients, I’ve subjected myself to eyebrow place after eyebrow place looking for consistency only to be disappointed & left with thin eyebrows from overwaxing etc.
On to my first time experience — Upon arriving, Ixta greeted me warmly. (Note: she rents a small space behind Michelle’s Nails — the ladies in the shop are amazingly kind). Her little oasis is situated in the back. Before anything, she observes your face & asks what you are looking for. She is completely honest & gives you a thorough background on the service she is going to perform & details as to how she will fix or improve. She also explains her reasoning for the method or approach used. She definitely takes the time to learn your facial features & gives you a consultation based on these individual factors. I highly recommend Ixta! You will not be disappointed.

Ixta is AMAZING! I came to her after realizing I was seriously was making the mistake of using the eyebrow shavers I shaved my eyebrows away to thin and short. She came to the rescue and studied my face and told me step by step what she would do to give me the eyebrows that shaped my face. After 3 sessions of coming back for letting my eyebrows grow back I love them I really do. Best part she is so gentle the waxing and plucking is so relaxing its not like the 5 dollar nail places where you feel like they just ripped your face off. She is incredible. Love you Ixta !
