DON’T TRUST THIS GUY IF YOU’RE BUYING A PIANO. He’s owed me a refund for eight months now and hasn’t paid up. He’s told me on different occasions that he mailed a refund to the wrong address, that he had mailed the check, that he was about to mail the check, even texting me a photo of the check made out to me — and never sent it. I had gone to him to buy a used baby grand which he described as looking great and having incredible sound. It looked like hell and the action was so bad that if you played mezzopiano, no sound would come from the keys at all, and trills were impossible. But he claimed he had taken care of it for years for the owners. Which made no sense, because if he had taken care of it, it wouldn’t look and play so bad. He also claimed someone else was coming to look at the piano. but even though I stayed a long time, no one came. Also, first he referred to the person coming as a he, then as a she. I instead put down a deposit on another piano which he also claimed to have taken care of for years, but when I later asked him for the serial number to check if the age he gave me for it was correct, he never responded. I finally decided I couldn’t trust his account of that piano any more than for the first piano and canceled the delivery. He was furious at me and called me a lot of names — I have the texts still — but when he calmed down he accepted my offer of $ 100 for his trouble from the $ 500 deposit and agreed to send me the remaining $ 400. It never came, however, and he’s put me off for month after month. Now he’s finally stopped responding to me at all. I’m going to have to file a small claims court action against him to get my money back. He may be a great piano tuner for all I know, but he hasn’t shown himself to be at all trustworthy to me.

A neighborhood friend recommended Landon to me a few years ago. He is our go-​to person for keeping our piano in tune and most recently giving it some TLC after having it in storage for a year during a remodel. He is prompt, honest, and uses his wealth of knowledge to not only keep the piano sounding its best, but to also diagnose and fix any issues. We highly recommend Landon for all of your piano needs.

I found Landon on Unilocal and after calling and comparing a bit, found him to be the most reasonably priced. He came this morning to tune a piano that hasn’t been tuned in probably a decade. He was really nice, very professional, and really knows his stuff. He did a great job and now our piano sounds so much better. I would absolutely call him again for future tunings/​piano services or if I need to buy a piano!

This guy is hands down the best. I have been working in music for a decade and there is nobody else i would go to to buy or tune a piano. Honestly, landon is the man to turn to for anything piano related. He is absolutely world class. Also, the guy is really nice. You wont meet an easier person to get along with in La. Landon rocks — he is the best piano tuner I have ever met. He made my piano sound great again. Another tuner had opened my very old upright piano and told me that it could not be tuned due to its condition. Landon opened it, inspected it carefully, and said he could tune it. And he did! It is so wonderful to have my piano sounding like it should. Plus, he scheduled the tuning appointment within a couple of days of my calling him, AND he is a very nice guy, easy to talk with, explains everything, has super reasonable rates. I will definitely be calling him for the next tuning.

Really great company. Fantastic service from Landon Collins. He not only made all the arrangements to have my piano moved across town, but also was able to fit me in for a tuning the same day. Everything was as smooth as possible. The moving company that Landon used was top rate and was on time and very gentle with the piano. The tuning that Landon did was perfect. I found Landon from Unilocal.I’m so glad that I hired him. I’m very skeptical when it comes to pianos… He is very knowledgable and helpful. He took care of my piano like his own. He even requested a blanket from me to protect my piano while he was working on it. My F (FA) key was not working so he adjusted the screw (fixed the key) and tuned my piano. His honesty and good customer service values, earned my business for life.

We bought our first piano from Landon and have recommended him to anyone who asks, ever since. We have him tune our piano and every experience with him has been pleasant and professional. I called Landon in to tune a Yamaha 52″ upright. I give him high marks all around. He confirmed the appointment the day of, kept me apprised of his estimated arrival time, and even offered me a discount because he got held up at a prior job.* During the tune, Landon noticed a few items that needed extra attention, and threw in that work free of charge. I recommend him highly.
*No way would I take advantage of that kind of generosity! His regular price is a great value.

For as long as he is in business (and I hope it’s a while), I’m going to go with Landon and Collins Piano Service for piano tuning. Why?
He’s both a craftsperson and a professional — he texted me beforehand to confirm the time and date. He showed up on time. I have an upright and he helped me clear the stuff off the top + replaced the stuff after he was done tuning. He let me know what the process would involve and how long it would take. He was efficient — it only took him 45 minutes to tune the piano. He also warned me about the noise — which wasn’t a big deal. I mean, it’s piano tuning. It’s going to make noise.
He’s also extremely personable and knowledgable… and it’s refreshing to find someone who is so into their craft. Highly recommend him.
Note: Had to pay in cash. It cost me $ 125 for the tuning.

I’ve used Landon’s services for a few years — his movers have moved my piano twice and every time they have done an excellent job at a very reasonable price. This was his first time tuning my piano (i waited until i was getting ready to record it) and he did an excellent job at a super reasonable price, was friendly and professional.

Landon is awesome. He’s the real deal. Well-​trained expert. From time to time, he gets pianos, and we bought one to get my daughter started, super low price that included moving AND tuning. He even came back 2 weeks later to adjust the tuning after the piano had acclimated to the Valley dryness. Super-​personable, honest, reliable. Oh yeah, and he tunes the hell out of a piano.

Don’t let the casual California looks fool you — this guy is a trained professional. Within a few hours of meeting Landon, I had a beautiful Baldwin piano delivered to my door and he tuned like a pro. Great guy, very knowledgeable, highly recommended!

Landon Collins is a treasure! I had to hire a piano tuner for my boss. Knowing nothing about pianos, I searched Unilocal!and came up with Landon. The reviews were glowing. I set up a Saturday appointment for my boss and hoped for the best. Now, this boss of mine does not give compliments easily. His response to my asking how things went: «Landon was prompt, knowledgeable, friendly and effective.» He is now in my contacts for future piano tuning assignments. Way to go Landon!

We met Landon at his showroom, where we were able to select from 15 – 20 pianos ranging from Spinets to Full Uprights. There were pianos for every price range, and we were looking on a budget. There were piano’s as low as $ 500 with moving and tuning included, but with Landon’s help we chose a Console style upright that gave a much richer sound. He had the piano delivered that day and tuned it perfectly. It sure beat getting a piano from craigslist and having to find a mover and tuner separately. It was one stop shopping. We love our new piano and our kids will enjoy it for years to come. Give them a call and I’m sure he’ll get you the piano that’s right for you.

There was no option for 0 stars, so I’m being generous with one. Purchased a piano tuning service call through Plum District with this guy and wow — what a horrible experience.
When we called for an appointment he put us on the list for a week or so later. Ok — your marketing idea with Plum District was successful and you’re a tad overwhelmed — fair enough. We’ll wait.
Finally our day rolls around and this guy calls us 5 minutes before the appointment with some totally bogus and lame excuse and then tells us that we’ll have to wait «at least another week» for his service.
If he was nice I might have excused him for just being an f-​up, but he was totally and completely rude and unprofessional.
