One of the best Indian restaurants on the Eastside! Have been here numerous times. The food is amazing, the staff is very friendly and ambience is great. The dipping sauces are particularly good.

Food was good. We had chicken kabobs and chole plate. They have a patio in back and used heaters but not so comfortable back there. Only thing is it’s more on the expensive side and overall wasn’t sure if the food was worth that. Not sure if we will go back again.

A multiple times visitor — love the south indian twist with Punjabi dhal. The salad served is good too. Wrap it up with a malpua and take home the left overs and you won’t regret.
As a vegetarian, the number of options is limited though and the guys there assured me they are working on new dishes. It is a much nicer comfort indian food served at a good ambience on a non-​crowded day than any other place on the east side. I will visit again.

My wife introduced me to the paneer roll. It is indeed well made. The chole bhature were good though could use a little more oomph. The vada paav is good too.
A note of caution, do not get too many sauces.
All in all, I will come back here again — if not anything to try the lamb and chicken kababs. The food has flavor and that is a good sign.

Amazing food, nicely embellished great taste and good ambience. The service was quick and polite. Just that we had to wait a bit to get a seat. They had a bar area although we wanted a proper seat.

The reason for 4 stars is the slow wait time, 50 mins for pickup and they are a bit pricey for the portion. Regardless the food is pretty good, I had the chicken kabob and my fiancé had the bacon butter chicken which is always delicious! I also got to sample a pineapple ginger lassi which was good enough that I bought one while I waited :) I will be back, we will have to see how the wait times are in the future.

First, the important part of my review: The Guilt Trip taught me that Oreo Lassis exist in this universe. You may not have known that you needed an Oreo Lassi. You may even think that an Oreo Lassi sounds a little weird. Maybe it *is* a little weird. But it is *glorious*.
I’ve eaten at The Guilt Trip several times and have also picked up carry-​out. The food is good, playful and different. This is not the place to go to order that thing you always order at the half-​dozen other Indian restaurants in town that are all indistinguishable from one another. That thing probably isn’t even on the menu here. Pick something on the menu that sounds fun and interesting, and it will be fun and interesting. Eat some spicy amazing french fries. Dip your Hurry-​Ali Peas paratha in– what the heck is in that tasty dipping sauce– is that candy? I don’t even know, but it is good. And then drink your crazy lassi and enjoy the heck out of it.
Sometimes the service is very slow, but the staff has always been really nice. I should probably make an effort to go there more often.

The bacon butter chicken was excellent. More sauce than I was expecting but it came with plenty of naan for dipping.
The chai was only ok, but they do have multiple flavors, so I’m planning on trying the others before I write that section of the menu off completely.
Cute décor, plenty of parking, and very convenient to downtown Redmond. I’ll be back and next time I’ll have to try a dessert!

Very inventive menu. They had a nice twist to traditional cuisines. We had the delhi beat fries which was amazing. The fried sauce was spicy, different and tasty. The hariyali chicken was not that spicy to my disappointment but I asked the host and they had intended it to be that way. Other rolls are supposed to pack more flavor. Lastly the almond milk was really amazing. All in all a restaurant you can definitely give a try.

My bf and I had been in the Tukwila/​Seattle area since noon doing some brewery tours, beer tasting, and buying grain for home brewing. We were wrapping up at Black Raven in Redmond and used Unilocal to look for a restaurant. We decided on the guilt trip and we are so glad. The place is small but is perfectly laid out. Even though we didn’t have reservations we were seated quickly.
The menu was laid out with dessert first (a guilty pleasure for sure!).
I wish we could have tried everything but the meals we chose were amazing. I had the Better Butter Chicken! Creamy sauce with a blend of spices and tender chicken, simmered with peppered bacon. Highly recommend. I could smell the beautiful spices on my skin after we left (and I didn’t spill it on me)! My bf had Lamb Trikone. A wonderful pocket bread (Paratha pockets) stuffed with Tandoori Lamb, carmelized onions, and mint gremolata. Served with sriracha raita!
The dishes and sauce had a nice spice and heat. But not too much. The Lassi’s and Yogurt sauces make sense since the coolness would go great with the spice.

Real Indian food finally comes back to Redmond! So excited about this place, which has come up where Preet’s used to be. The owner is often there and is always gracious and helpful. The katti rolls are amazing, as are the lassis. The paneer tikka appetizer is legit. I hope to dine here often.

So we came there for lunch and had to wait 1 hour before our drinks arrived. The waiter took forever to take our order.
The portions for small plates are very small. I got a samosa and was a little disappointed that it was just one samosa in a spicy «pea looking soup».
The becon blue cheese stuffed naan was very unusual and good at yhe same time. Highly recommended.

Why one star short of perfect? Great atmosphere and aroma, original meals that are well crafted and flavorful, lacks just a few mine options that you would expect from an Indian restaurant.
I have passed by this restaurant many times as I pulled into the lions gate apartment community to occasionally have dinner at a friends house on Fridays. I am glad they cancelled on us and we stumbled into this humble and warm restaurant
The ambiance strikes a balance between modern yet comfortable setting, where is there room to dine with a couple of families, but would be best to call in and make sure they have space as sitting is a bit tight for late gatherings
My wife and I ordered the cholay batore, chicken tandori plate and the couple of their kathi rolls. The first two orders were fantastic, especially the chicken tandori plate with large perfectly tender bites of chicken that melted right into your mouth, and the cheesy bread (as best I can describe it) that came with the chole batore could be a meal in itself (chole were good too). I have to say I didn’t find the lamb kathi roll all that awesome, perhaps it was the roti they used which was dry and a tad thick for a roll.
I will be back for more! I saw some lamb sliders ordered at another table and i had to stop myself from ordering those despite being neck full of food
Definitely recommended.

Classic combo — 5⁄5. Firecracker sauce, pineapple ginger lassi, and naan. The sauce was a recommendation by our server, which had quite a spicy kick. It was similar to a chilli, very delicious.
English Toffee Paratha — 5⁄5. Ordered on recommendation of our server recommendation. Soft paratha with a crunchy piece of English toffee gives a great texture contrast. It’s sweet, but isn’t particularly decadent, which is perfect for my pallet :]
Bacon Butter Chicken — 4⁄5. Chicken simmered in a creamy thick sauce with a slab of thick cut bacon. Very tasty!
Lamb Trikone — 3⁄5. Paratha stuffed with lamb, onions and mint. It came with a sauce that was more liquidy than I would have liked. It’d be great if it was thicker so it would spread nicely.
Extra naan — 3⁄5. forget the name, but I think it was Garlicky Potatoes. Naan had some potatoes spread on the inside and tasty. Would definitely recommend
Samosa Mattar Chaat — 3⁄5. A samosa halved and served in a pea (or lentil?) chutney.

When one thinks of Indian food nowadays, buffets with lots of butter, bloated stomachs, and food coma come to mind. Not so at The Guild Trip. This Indian bistro serves up refined portions of the naturalistic persuasion: no preservatives and always fresh. They have wine and beer (but at nutty prices… $ 5 for a draft pint of Mac and Jack!?)
The food is very tasty, albeit small for their price. Their lassis are excellent, and their chutney bar is great (go for the tomatoes, it’s the spiciest and the most awesome.)
Their prime deal is 20% off (for 2 – 6 people) but they automatically include an 18% gratuity, making it a-​wash. Overall… good food, but a bit overpriced.

The Guilt Trip, wow! Such a lot of personality and character in a neighborhood restaurant! Right from the start this place was warm and inviting! We were greeted and seated right away with no wait. Our waiter was very friendly, helpful with the menu (this was our first time) and very attentive. I was SO grateful that our water glasses never sat empty!
Very nice ambience inside, clean and vibrant colors making a lovely background for the meal. Lots of personal touches, we loved the clever chalkboard signs! Especially the one about Mom’s love as their secret ingredient!
The menu is well organized and easy to understand, even to us beginners. Our main questions rotated around dish size, share-​ability and spiciness level. This is where the hubby and I divided in opinion… he seemed to love everything about the meal and didn’t find it spicy at all. Granted this is the man who puts Texas Pete Hot Sauce on just about everything it seems like!
Myself– I had a hard time with this meal. I tried everything once but even ordering the most mild dishes on the menu, I still pretty much was only able to eat the naan and paneer (with the spicy green chutney scraped off.) Not to worry though– that chutney didn’t go to waste as my hubby happily scooped it up for himself with naan and even bites of the butter chicken!
All and all, The Guilt Trip was a good dining experience and we’ll be back. I can see why this place is gaining popularity so fast! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good food! I just wish they had more truly mild options so that I could go back and eat a full meal there too.

Amazing. Stupendous. Outrageous. Unilocalalicious! Thank you Unilocal for coming through for me. While on a business trip, I did a Unilocal excursion and found this incredible gem. We were seated and the owner came over to describe his restaurant and thoughts about food. I was hooked from the get-​go and decided to just let him tell me what he thought was great and went ahead and ordered it.
Started with the Aamchi Mumbai Pav which was a unique filled potato ball served in the form of a slider. After my first bite, this was no longer just an appetizer for me. I was in for an experience and the orchestra just started to play.
My main was suggested by the owner, who was I to dispute? He said it was his favorite and I was overwhelmed with eagerness. Ordered the Lamb Trikone and 2⁄2 I was again amazed at the flavors all coming together. Let there be no mistake I love spicy food, this dish was very spicy and I while I was a sweaty mess I could not have cared less. The flavor of the lamb came right through and stood prominent, behind it was some curious spices that I am sure others could describe better and identify, the end was the heat that melded everything together. I have never had anything like this dish in my life, simple yet stunning.
Rounding out the meal was the only thing I deviated from the opinion of the owner. I went with my homies, the local Unilocalers and got the White Chocolate Mocha Paratha. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Creamy with hues of coffee with crunchy pieces throughout this dessert was the perfect end.
Overall, I consider The Guilt Trip to be one of the best food experiences I have ever had. I consider it less of a restaurant and more of a synchronized meal provider (cheezy yes, but Im at a loss for words). Everything just fit in their perfect little puzzle space and left me in awe.
