Redmond is a little far for me and I don’t really care for the Eastside anyways, so I checked with this metal place in Kent. A dude named Doug told me why not try the new one in Lacey, that just opened. I appreciate that word, and I’ll check that out. Just wanted to write him a good review but told me not to tell them about the one in Lacey, but to write him in Unilocal.

If I could rate a 0 stars I would! Called to get an installation quote on front and rear sway bars and was told 4 hours and it definitely would not take longer than 1 – 2 hours. When I told them they were charging too much I got «good luck we are a high end motorsports company… CLICK…» Who the heck hangs up on a customer!

I had an oil change done here a couple years ago to check out the shop and see how I liked their service in preparation for potential mod work on my car in the future. The service was well done, but customer service at drop off /​pick up was hard to find.
Later I bought some headlamps to install myself, which I’ve done many times. This time one of the lamps was defective and burned out immediately. They didn’t have another in stock to exchange with but they also wouldn’t take the defective item back for a refund. They did take them back, though and said they would have the manufacturer send some to us.
We have moved since then, and called to update our address, and called multiple times over the last 2 years to tell them we have received no replacement headlamps, and asked them to please give us a replacement or refund our money. At this point all I can conclude is that we were either intentionally given the run around, or they are so incompetent or poorly managed that they can’t follow up on a simple defective item return. Either way, you make the call if you want to trust them with your much more expensive race mods given that.

Great experience overall — expert knowledge and service. I appreciate the attention to detail. They are true enthusiasts!

Took in my 2010 Genesis Coupe to have an Injen Cold Air Intake and some open fog light covers installed after getting the appointment setup effortlessly by Kelly via email.
Dropped my car off Tuesday (Oct 23^rd) morning and met Kelly and some of the staff. All incredibly friendly and were more than happy to answer any questions I had. Kelly offered to keep me up to date on progress throughout the day via email.
The install proceeded through the day as planned. One issue was encountered regarding the fog light covers and their fit in my bumper. Kelly emailed me immediately with very detailed photos of the issue (they weren’t fitting very well, the fog covers I ordered were the issue) and let me know I wouldn’t be happy with the results. After looking at the photos I was quick to agree. I asked if it was possible just to work with the stock fog light covers and potentially open them up a bit around the chrome accents. Kelly replied back and said he’d have his fabricator take a shot at them.
They were indeed able to open up the stock fog light covers (Basically removing the solid plastic backing behind the chrome accents) and the quality of work they put into making it happen was excellent, you would have no idea that the work was aftermarket fabrication (it looked like they were opened right from the factory).
All in all the experience was fantastic from start to finish. When I’m ready to get further work done on the vehicle, I won’t hesitate to head over to Speedware.

Took the GTO in for a suspension inspection to see how bad the bushing were. They estimated an hour for diagnoses and completed in 45 and charged me $ 75. The amount of wear was unexpected and estimate to fix was 1800.
A few months later, I had nearly all my bushings replaced on my 05 GTO and tail shaft seal replaced. Shop time is $ 95/​hr. which is $ 30−50/hr. lower than most dealers. I was given the ok to supply Energy Suspension bushing from amazon and saved several hundred dollars over the retail Pedders bushings. but my kit was missing a bushing set (vender issues). Speedware kept in touch over email pretty well and I ordered a few other bushings as well to finish things off.
They had the car in the shop for 3 weeks on the rack (I’m assuming) because I didn’t have all the parts ordered (they’re special order) but they were very easy going about it. I do not know of another shop that will let you bring in parts off the street and then not rape you for holding up the bay for 3 weeks because you missed a couple issues.
Speedware MotorSports is amazingly competitive in my eyes. Most shops charge a hefty premium over retail for parts even though they get them at wholesale. I’m sure my incomplete parts put a damper on accepting customer parts but I’d highly recommend them. The parts quotes I got in the original estimate were within 10% of online orders so I will order through them in the future. I just happened to find a couple sweet deals and they gave me the ok to order.
Anywho, love the shop and appreciate the customer service. They are laid back but courteous and prudent in following up. I think they worked harder than any shop ever has for my money. I’ll go back as long as I live in the area and they can accept the vehicle. Not sure what’s up with the 1 star review and badgering the mechanic talent but I had a great experience and no regrets not doing the work myself.

Speedware was recommended to me by several people and I’ve never been so disappointed with mechanics in my life after having gone to Speedware MotorSports in Redmond! I drive a 2006 Evo IX SE and I took it to speedware to have a new clutch/​flywheel/​throw out bearing installed. The place looks great, convenient location, «cool» staff. I get my car back and it looks great, and shiny and it runs great. The next day I happened to drive back from school and stop at the bank I noticed my oil pressure gauge dropped to 0 psi so I immediately shut off the engine, opened the door, and oil was all over the ground. Apparently, after I took it BACK to Speedware, somehow when they did an oil change, the oil pan bolt was missing. This means either someone didn’t torque it properly, or that they didn’t even bother screwing it on very well and it just fell off while I was driving. This could have ruined my engine if I hadn’t caught it the second that it happened! So they fixed it free, but of course happily driving later on (next day), I noticed that my intake had been unbolted and fell off, so once I drove back home from school I bolted it back on. Then my new clutch goes out on me 5 months later on without having tracked my car, launched it, only been using it as a daily driver. Mechanics take my car apart only to find that bolts were missing on my clutch assembly, transmission, and that other important bolts were loose and not torqued properly causing my brand new clutch to slip until it got destroyed. I had an ACT street lite flywheel, Spec 2+ carbon/​kevlar clutch + a new throw out bearing installed by these guys. What kind of mechanics do these guys hire? People that try to sabotage cars or people who just don’t bother to bolt or torque any bolts on properly? Thanks to Speedware I’ve wasted over $ 1000 on new parts /​labor, plus another $ 1500+ to the damage that has been done from their mechanics. I highly don’t recommend getting any work done here, no matter how cool the people pretend to be.

I came here when I was shopping for a new helmet for track season.
Zack and Tony were very helpful in sizing me and explaining the different helmets. I walked in asking for Arai, a rather expensive brand of helmet. But I didn’t feel that he was pushing the expensive models on me and asked me to try on other brands that would save me some cash.
I bought shoes and gloves from them and their pricing was better than I could find online.
I also had a set of wheels and tires mounted. They were a bit more than other places, but Kelly did a great job and mounted them without any scratches. I don’t mind paying more for peace of mind and good quality work.

Went here on a recommendation from one of my friends who has done extensive track mods to his 350Z
My car needed a minor repair, but I wanted it done with rare, high end part. I called and spoke with David (sales manager) who said while he didn’t think they had it in stock, he’d have his service manager (Kelly) follow up with me. Kelly called me in about an hour and confirmed they didn’t have it in the shop, but could call around and get it no problem.
Kelly called me two days later when the part came in and invited me down to the shop. He had me drive into their huge, clean service bay and did the swap himself while I stood there and watched — maybe 10 minutes.
I can’t do my own wrenching due to lack of garage, so I’ll definitely be coming back to have the rest of my work done.
The customer service has been top notch. Can’t wait to do more business here.

Eh, all I can say is «major ripoff and untalented mechanics.»
Most of their product you can buy elsewhere for half the price.
As for the mechanics, all of the good ones leave ASAP and the bad ones are still there…
