Our son has been doing Fall ball for one week so far. I may update my opinion later but my initial impression is so-so. For $ 350, there is supposed to be 5 weeks with one training session during the week and one game on Sundays. The first Sunday game @ Marymoor Park was cancelled as it had drizzled a tiny bit of rain in the morning but was not raining at all for game time. As it is fall season in the Seattle area, we find this a little ridiculous. No word on whether the game is being rescheduled or if we just paid for that session for nothing. They also didn’t offer to open up their indoor training facility for extra Sunday training in lieu of the game. I’m guessing they didn’t have to pay their staff for the missed Sunday game but will still gladly pocket our money. Administratively they seem to be a tad disorganized. Instructions for the season went out less than a week before the session started. Team details ended up different than what was reported on their website in terms of age categories and practice days. Additionally, they are slow to return calls and emails. The reason I am giving any stars is because the one day a week training seems to be pretty good. It is academy style repetitive training with skilled coaches reviewing the skills of the kids and giving them tips for improvement. It is fairly impersonal, however, as the coaches don’t seem intent on learning anyone’s name. I also witnessed the coaches ridiculing boys for lack of enthusiasm and threatening to make them run– It sort of comes off as thou they are super macho and training little baseball soldiers. If you are ok with paying $ 70 a week just for the training, then it will be worth your money. My son’s review is that he really likes the training but is disappointed that the games are being canceled. He doesn’t seem to mind the chastising of the other boys and sort of feels like he’s being treated like a grown up.
