First Tech Federal Credit Union

I used to really like this credit union. You used to get personalized service. Since they have been acquired and grown, that experience is gone and you may as well be dealing with Bank of America or Wells Fargo. American Express has better customer service than this relatively small credit union. I won’t be doing more business there.

I actually like First Tech a lot. They are getting 2 stars for the help or lack of help I received and for the speed in which they handle wires. I use the Seattle South Lake Union Branch if I have to go to a branch.
I had funds wired from another bank to my First Tech account. They are incredibly slow. They provided an excuse that they hadn’t received the money. The 2^nd time I called they said «oh we just received it, we’ll process the paperwork and post by 4PM.» First of all where was the money for 7 hours if it already left my other bank and I had a confirmation number. The funds were not posted by 4:00PM as they stated. I had to call a third time. Wiring money is not free. I wasted by time and money. The whole point of wiring money is to have it moved quickly. I think they post them whenever they want at their leisure and make stuff up. It’s been slow with them before, but 7 hours to post a wire is ridiculous.
