Tony’s Spunky Steer

I only went here once and it was not good. I got the steak and it was one of the worst steaks that I have ever had. My bfs family didn’t like what they got either. My bf always told that this place was bad but also had some good days. I guess the day we all went it was flat out bad. I’m not sure if I’ll ever go back.

Because of the good reviews, we decided to try Tony’s. I wish it had lived up to its reviews. The steak was so tough it was unchewable and not very tasty. The salad was standard. The baked potato was excellent. The restaurant was loud. As my sister said…“been there, done that”. Still searching for our Saturday night steakhouse.

My server Julez was superb! She was super friendly and kept a smile on her face at all times. The food was great. I had a steak salad and it was presented wonderfully and quickly. You can’t beat the prices also.

Casual and super tasty! If your vegan stay away. For the carnivorous adventurer this place is heavenly. Great for meetings, business meetings and families of all sizes. Two thumbs up!

We just had the worst most horrible experience with their customer service which happens to be the owners granddaughter! I have never been kicked out of a restaurant because I requested two checks for 10 people! This lady said to us… «We can not sit you down at the same table with two separate checks», she said, «you can’t make us go around our policy to avoid our 15% gratuity»! «If you don’t like our policy you can leave»! I said to the lady «you have poor customer service», and she said «well we can’t split the checks, so if you don’t like it then you can go somewhere else»! I have never been kicked out of a restaurant! This lady didn’t care to lose our business! I have never experienced this type of service ever and I’ve been to very high end restaurants requesting 2 separate checks… This lady was more worried about getting her 15% gratuity! Never will I ever go to this place again! I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND any one to step foot in that place! It’s not worth your time! They need JESUS!!!

This stupid lady (owners granddaughter) basically told us we cannot sit our party of 10 together without paying 2 checks instead of trying to work with us or just giving us to tables close to each other she said «that is our policy and if you don’t like it you can leave» I hope this place goes out of business!!!

Got instructed to leave if we did not like there policy. Never been treated this way before. So disappointed they could not accommodate a party of ten and split the check. Basically was told by the Manager of you don’t like there is the door instead of satisfying the customer.
Never will go here again.

Great food but the prices have gone up quite a bit in the past few years. The staff has been there for 20 plus years in some cases so you will see the same servers over and over again. Food is served quick so you may feel rushed but I don’t think it’s on purpose. They have quick service mastered.

We have came here for years and always loved it, and the prices were great. BUT now the prices jumped dramatically. We came for steak and bought burgers…

My wife is used to these posh restaurants in London, Los Angeles, and New York. So when I took her to Tony’s Spunky Steer, she turned her nose up a bit. It’s not highfalutin, it’s down home comfort food in a relaxed atmosphere. There’s no «scene» at Tony’s. But now that Tippe gets it, she likes it here.
Big portions… I mean BIG portions at a reasonable price with good friendly service is the reason that Tony’s Spunky Steer is usually busy on any night that you go. I see a lot of families come here as they have big tables. You can easily split any meal with someone else and both of you will be full. I like that they have a large selection of fish, steaks, BBQ, or sandwiches. You can’t go wrong with any of it.
My friends and I have made this restaurant our usual hang out for meeting up. One of us, I’m not going to say who, likes the big mug of beers that they serve. And now that Tippe is off her high horse, she likes it here too. Fine by me.

Food was pretty good. Lunch buddies and I came here on a Friday and our waitress was so kind and patient. Without her patience, I think we would have received spit in our food if it was someone else. I absolutely liked my steak and would not mind coming back if it was lunch as it is close to my job.

I have contacted the Better Business Bureau regarding our past treatment at this establishment and again. will continue forward with action as far as I can take it. I think you shouldn’t work with people if you want to be snide and rude. as I am handing over my money to you. TRUST AND BELIEVE. ITS GOING TO OTHER POLITE AND CHEERFUL ESTABLISHMENTS. Im not in need of arse kissing while I’m there. just polite​ness​.it goes a long way. I promise.

Honestly, the food was okay and it’s just below average. But the reason I am giving this a 1 star is the service was completely terrible, Stephanie my waitress Was extremely rude to me and the surrounding tables, I was trying to be nice and friendly, but the whole time Stephanie was rude and obnoxious with witty smarta** remarks. once my food came out, my drink was never refilled and she never revisited my table to ask me how everything is, just to leave a check. I have literally been treated better by Mcdonalds employees, this is why Tonys Spunky Steer won’t be in business long if they continue to have Stuck up brats as their employees as people will stop coming due to the LACK OF SERVICE, No ambiance and sub par food.
If you are going there be sure to not be seated in Stephanie’s section because she will not serve you properly and will insult you the whole time. you are almost better off going to the supermarket buying a steak and cooking it then having to put up with her B.S.

Came for dinner recently, it has been years since we have been to Spunky.
The Wednesday night special is Country Fried Steak $ 11.00 which comes with salad, potato, toast and some apple compote.
The salad was very good, crisp, fresh, cold — excellent (ask for the dressing on the side if you don’t like it smothered). The baked potato was really good, it was cooked perfectly. Loaded with butter, sour cream, and chives — what’s not to like?
After eating the salad and baked potato I had no room for the Country Fried Steak covered in gravy (they offer 3 different types of gravy). That came home in a to-​go box, along with the toast and apple compote.
The price of a soda is $ 3.00 — a little steep even with refills.
Overall our experience was very nice, not very crowded for 5:30
Service was great.

Aside from their outdated décor and low lighting, the food was pretty tasty! We had the chicken fried steak and rib eye steak along with their huge delicious baked potatoes! The Cesar salad was crisp and delicious! Huge portions and good diner food… service was good and our drinks were always full. not bad for a first time
