I spotted this place when I made a wrong turn going to the drs. After the appointment I and my husband stopped in there since he was hungry. What a find! The owner was so kind and sweet, and the meatloaf special was to die for! The best meatloaf I have ever eaten! The portions were great, the meatloaf was moist and just melted in your mouth. So give the Orange Tree Lane Deli a visit and bring your appetite!

Wow… I don’t use the phrase«gem» to often but this place is an absolute(and relatively undiscovered) gem. Reminds me of the little hole in the wall delis back in Chicago that are there to cater to a high rise worker bees. When I walked in I immediately saw the big jar of sun tea outside brewing. Score. Fantastic sandwich, grilled turkey and then perfectly grilled bread with a yummy mayo based coleslaw. Packaged to-go with a little fruit and veggie medely, cookie and side. Honeslty, it reminded me of the kind of lunch my mom used to make when I was home during summer. Tasty and lovingly made. Now we Unilocalers routinely bash owners for lack of attn. This owner greeted me upon walking in the door, asked how my day was(geniunly) and kept me up to speed on the progress of my order every 2 mins or so. In the meantime she managed to greet, on a first name basis, about ¾ of the people that walked in the door. I was impressed. If I lived closer this would be a go-to place.

The Orange Tree Lane Deli is a true local gem tucked away in an industrial park near the County Museum and KCAL’s offices and a testament to why Unilocal is so relevant in this day and age. The wife and I were at the Kaiser clinic down the road last week when I opened up Unilocal to see what was nearby — and this place popped up. I’d never heard of the place, and with me being a true«Localvore» I thought what a great Unilocalortunity this would make; especially with all the great reviews. Wow was I right! Their location truly is of the«blink and you miss it» variety. They are smack in the middle of an industrial park which is itself one of a series of parks along this street. Don’t let that put you off, though! The wife and I walked in and were greeted by two of the friendliest sister you’d ever want to meet. Marci and Joyce are the owners of the place and they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome; asking our names, where we were from, how we heard about their place. Not only that, they took time to introduce themselves and to actually talk to their customers. Not something you find everyday. This kind of personal touch was highly appreciated. The décor of the place is charming. Bright colors, country kitch, and displays of Redlands history and citrus heritage abound all over — proudly proclaiming itself as part of the local community. Its not the largest place, with about 6 tables inside and a couple outdoors. And then there’s the food. They specialize mainly in sandwiches and salads — with the occasional soups here and there and desserts. Their menu is just right; that is, large enough to give options for both carnivores and veggiesaurs, but not too large as to keep you choosing forever. Their offerings are also quite reasonably priced! I saw that they had a Southwestern variation of a Monte Cristo which I went for, and my wife had a Reuben. Three words… Yum… yum…YUM! The sandwiches(available on a variety of breads) were delicious! Wifey proclaimed her Reuben as one of the best she’s had in a long time, with lean cuts of pastrami with no gristle at all. My Monte Cristo was heaven on bread! We even got a cookie for being«new to the shop». Awwww!!! We took my mother by here the following Monday for her to try. She had the french dip, the wifey had the club sandwich and I had the chicken bacon ranch. Again… they were all yum… yum…YUM! What? Another cookie for dessert?! Awww… yes please! We will definitely be back here, hopefully many times. They really go out of their way to make the customer feel welcome here and seem to honestly care that they enjoy their offerings. I highly recommend giving this place a visit if your in the local area. You’ll leave with a full tummy and a smile on your face!

What a local treasure, glad I found this tucked into an office park. The women who run this Deli are wonderful, and immediately got to know me when I first came in for a sandwich and really make this place feel like a little local lunch spot should: homey and welcoming. I work locally and this is clearly a locals’ spot, where everyone seems to be a regular. Sandwiches are fresh and tasty, and at about $ 7 with a side, are always generously built and tasty. I feel like everyone foodie needs to have a cozy little local sandwich shop that makes fairly priced, tasty sandwiches with no frills. I think this’ll be mine from now on.

Thank you Unilocal for finding this hidden place! Had the turkey cranberry everyone mentioned. Super fresh bread and just right amount of cranberry spread. Nice ladies welcomed everyone by name as they walked in. Don’t find that often.

My friend and I were in need of a place to grab a quick late lunch after a trek to Redlands to shop at a cake supply store down the street. A quick search on Unilocal directed me to this great little sandwich shop. What a great find! Friendly service and delicious food is what we found! I tried the meat loaf sandwich special which was soooo good! My friend had a great croissant sandwich. I’ll definitely stop back in the next time I come to Redlands!

What a Nice Heart warming place. The owner is such a nice Person, enjoyed talking to her. The food, what can I say. I looooved it! I had a Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich that was delicious and the cookies were soooo good :) Even the fruit that was served with my sandwich was delicious. I would recommend anyone that’s in the mood for a good sandwich to come here.

I was looking for a great sandwich out of the normal subway I usually get. I was specifically looking for a place that puts alfalfa sprouts in their veggie sandwiches, so after looking at the menu decided to give it a try. The restaurant/deli is a good size, but the decoration is cluttered. It looked like grandmas kitchen, though I wondered when the place had been dusted last. It didn’t bother me too much since I placed a to go order. While the sandwich and side of fruit was decent for $ 7, I definitely make better sandwiches at home. I was expecting a premium bread full of oats and grains(e.g. Dave’s killer bread) but it was just plain old wheat bread and it wasn’t even toasted. Would I return? Most likely, since the service was friendly and fast, but I will not become a regular anytime soon.
