This store is always… ALWAYS so slow! They never have enough people to hold down the registers, and their inventory always seems to be wiped out. Drive to north Fontana and avoid the hassle here

Had a fantastic time this past Mother’s Day morning receiving help from one of the fabric clerks and cashier. Athena was super sweet, approachable, and appropriately comfortable with me, a customer. Despite it being an hour or so before noon, she was in such a great, welcoming mood. I hope more people like Athena exist in stores to greet customers with as much charisma. Thank you for the muslin! It worked perfectly.

The WORST, bar none! 2 cashiers, 40 patrons in line. The cut counter is even worse, not to mention there prices are usually a bit higher than Hancock Fabric, which is just up the road. Only come here as a last resort.

Joann’s staff often are too busy to be truly helpful. Luckily for me, Niki was able to multitask! She spent nearly 20 minutes on the phone with me identifying and attempting to locate the exact yarn I needed (which I learned Joann carries inline only). She did all of that to help me while waiting efficiently and pleasantly with the numerous Christmas customers at her register!
Kudos Joann’s for hiring such a friendly and helpful employee – she deserves a raise!

I have been to this store several times in the past few months and will not come back again. To buy an inexpensive pair of scissors, I was told I had to be escorted to the cash register and could not put the package in my cart while I picked out a spool of thread. When I needed to buy two items on another day, there were more than 2 dozen people in line and I gave up and left after 15 minutes when the line had barely moved. The third strike was the most insulting cashier I ever encountered in my life. I am a retired businesswoman and Jo-Ann’s has a real problem at this location. This was a great store when it was located on Redlands Blvd. There were helpful and courteous staff back then and reasonable lines. Not anymore.

Waited in line at cutting table for 30 min (shopped at 9:15 am). One person working.
Waited in line to pay for another 30 min. One cashier working.
Store extremely disorganized with inventory strewn everywhere. Once again, Not my idea of a good shopping experience.

Don’t get me wrong the the store itself is great but the customer service is not… especially at the fabric counter… not very friendly.

I honestly just get so frustrated when I come to this store. If it wasn’t so close to my work I would never go here. It is ridiculously understaffed. If you go here expect to be searching up and down the aisles for a long time to find what you need as there are no employees around to help you. Allow yourself a lot of time to check out because you will be in line for a long time waiting to pay.

So slow. Just understaffed. The staff are helpful but then there’s also some staff (not the sewing table but the area next to them) that don’t have «authority» to help with the spray paint which is fine, but the other staff are swamped so why are these ppl who aren’t authorized still working?! They aren’t helpful. Anyway good products, again, just so understaffed on weekends especially! Waited 38min just to check out. :/​no fast pass line either! Ha

The WORST store. Every time I think, «I’ll just run into grab (that one thing I don’t have)» I am reminded why I rarely go to this particular store. They are ALWAYS horrendously understaffed. There are NO employees to help if you ever need assistance finding something and the line for the register is always 20+ people deep, and is typically closer to 40 with only 1 to 4 (4 if you’re lucky!) cashiers. This store is one of the only stores that make me think, «I should just buy this on Amazon». I’m disappointed in you JoAnn’s.

I was waiting at the doors right at 10am. Because there were half a dozen old ladies waiting in their cars, I decided to let them all go in before me. I don’t think I’d have forgiven myself if I didn’t.
First stop: bathroom. It was clean and actually about to be cleaned when the janitor let me go in first.
The fabric selection was okay. Definitely not in the realm of a store dedicated to fabrics, but you’re bound to find something. I love how they are organized by color. You can’t miss finding a fabric in a solid color here. I debated getting fabric that was at an unheard of $ 1.xx/yard, but in the end, reminded myself that I have way too much fabric and yarn to keep me occupied for a few years.
I found what I needed at the framing area and only had to wait a few minutes in line. I realize other Unilocalers did not have this experience (or the luxury of time that I have).
Tip: I had a digital coupon. I think if you do get their coupons from their website via text, make sure to have the bar code on the coupon showing on your phone. I believe the other way is to show the cashier the code that has to be typed in manually. I think that’s where the line holdups may be from: Like-​minded tech-​challenged customers and cashiers all trying to figure out digital coupons on their cell phones.

The store is very clean. When I am able to find an employee they are very nice. Highly emphasize when I am able to find an employee to help me. The line at the register is long and more often than not, the wait is long. The store is often well stock but I wish they had more Becky Higgins selection.
When I shop at Joann’s I make sure I my coupons. I suggest going to their website and having the coupons send to your smartphone via a text. More often than not, you can get 25−40% off a regular price item.
I take two stars off because the store is horribly understaffed and the line takes forever! I once waited 30 minutes in line! The employees are really nice, but come on it’s not fair to them to be so overworked.

Tried to sign up my daughter for a sewing class and sat on hold for over 6 minutes while they had to try and find a manager. Needless to say I hung up. Not a good impression.

I want to love this store because it has everything I will ever need and at great prices, but it is so incredibly understaffed. I needed some spray paints once, and searched dilligently for an employee to unlock the cabinet for at least 10 minutes before I gave up and went to the cut counter. I felt bad because I had to interrupt the poor woman at the counter who had at least 7 people to assist, but I had no other way to get help. She called someone to assist me and they were there to help about 5 minutes later.
The line to check out is ALWAYS bad. There are days that I think I will be able to get in and out quickly because there are only 2 or 3 people ahead of me, but even that takes 15 or so minutes. The employees are always very nice, so it kind of makes up for it… kind of. I work in customer service, and though your employees may be friendly and helpful, they can only be spread so thin. It is not fair to your hard working employees or your faithful customers.
To be honest, I think I have been lying to myself about this store for too long. I have been frequenting this store a lot lately in preparation for my upcomming wedding because it is so close to my office, but I am tired of waiting. I have better things to do than stand around in a ridiculous line for an unacceptable amount of time. I think today’s trip was my last visit to this store for a while… let me know if you decide to hire an adequate amount of employees.

I would like to shop at this store BUT everytime I’m ready to check out, there is ALWAYS a long line because there’s not enough staff. So I leave buying nothing.

This was a rather unpleasant experience, and I wasn’t even there to shop (I was accompanying friends that are doing the shopping). It made the experience more objective, to this store’s detriment.
The store, while expansive and with many a thing, is direly understaffed. We didn’t see anyone around that we could have asked for help if it were needed. The aisles are a bit tight and almost claustrophobic when carts are involved. Organization is off too, as things aren’t where you’d logically expect them to be (we wanted foam board and it was tucked in a corner between cooking supplies and frames).
Unfortunately, we were there for cloth as well. There were two harried women at the cloth cutting station trying to work through at least ten people waiting, each with a cart full of bolts. We aren’t talking just a yard cut and move on, this was ridiculous and about seven to ten minutes per customer. They were on #50 when we got there, we were #54, and the wait was a joke. Not to mention that at #52, #46 took her turn (and the call for numbers is store wide, not easy to miss) for a greater delay.
Then we go to buy our wares and the line is wrapped around the designated area. 15 deep at least. Not typically a problem but there’s only two check out ladies and one tied up in a return. Were it me, I’d have left at the cloth debacle. As it stood, checking out was a 20+ minute ordeal with an unfriendly employee («I hate these phones!» She remarked as my friend used hers to show coupons.) and believe me, we could not get out of there fast enough.
Two stars for the cleanliness (very nice) and inventory of things. Not impressed for a Saturday jaunt. Would not recommend.

The lines are always too long to wait. They are running a major holiday sale this weekend, but only have 2 cashiers to serve 40+ people in line. And the fabric cut counter has at least 30 people waiting.
HIRE MORE STAFF!

Terrible service! It’s impossible to get any help and when you find someone they’re not interest. I took my $ 400 purchase to Michaels.

If I could give 0 stars I would worse store never have any cashiers open and never apologize for the wait managers are always hiding at this store… Apparently they don’t care about reviews cause there’s a ton on here…

Just wasted another hour and a half at Joann, but never again. Dumped my stack of cut fabric on a shelf and walked out after having waited in line FOREVER, with only 2 clerks and 30 customers, and hearing one of the clerks tell a lady she’d have to come back another day for her 75% off fabric remnants because the computer wasn’t ringing them up right. HOW LONG HAD SHE WAITED IN LINE? and then told she needed to return? NO. If Joann wants our business, they need to support the economy by hiring more clerks.
Lesson learned – drive an extra mile or so and go to Hancock Fabrics on Alabama and Brookside.
