Bellissima Aveda Spa

This is not a serious massage spa. The day I had an appointment the room was ice cold. They didn’t have any space heaters. They refused to move me to another room even though they were all free. They scoffed at my request — stating that no one else had ever complained before. I felt they didn’t care at all about the customer. Having had hundreds of massages over the years — I know that muscular tension and relaxation during a massage is critically related to temperature and comfort.
Obviously they weren’t aware of that.

First time visit to Belissima for a Swedish massage. I highly recommend this spa. Everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. I was offered a complimentary tea or glass of champagne while I was enjoying a foot soak. This spa may be slightly higher priced than the average massage sap, but it boasts all the bells and whistles. Completely worth it. They use aroma essential oils, which makes the massage a luxury and releases all the toxins in the body. A huge plus in my book. The spa is very clean and everyone is super friendly. A great place to unwind after a long day. I highly recommend my massage therapist Airey who made me feel like a new woman. She hit the right pressure points and helped alleviate the day’s life stresses. I will be returning.

Made appt via Unilocal online. Arrived at salon, no appointment on system. Could not accommodate my appointment at time scheduled. Offered only $ 20 off after I have arrange my entire morning for appointment. Not happy with customer service or resolution

This issue mainly has to do with the customer service I experienced with the receptionists. I wanted to get my mom a massage for her birthday so I came into the store, made and appointment and prepaid for the massage along with tip. The receptionist asked for my mother’s phone number, and assuming they were going to make a courtesy phone call reminder, I asked him not to because I was gng to tell her myself as a surprise. He typed away on the computer, stating he was making a note not to call. I then proceeded to pay for the massage as well as leave a tip. I was VERY upset and disappointed to hear that all my effort to provide a nice gift and surprise for my mother on her bday was to no avail when not only did they call to remind her (when the receptionist stated they wouldn’t), but they also charged my mother for her gift when it was already paid for! EPIC FAIL! AND my credit card was already charged. Did they not make a note a payment was already made? I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere!

I just loved coming here. Beautiful facility, soft robes, comfortable massage tables. Everything was clean and inviting. My massage therapist was awesome. The combination of aromatherapy and massage eased my back pain and my headache. I lounged around after the massage and drank tea. One of the staff came and pulled out an ottoman for my feet and covered me with a blanket! So thoughtful. Well worth it. Will be back again.

My official rating is a 4.5 but I can’t give that.
My first visit was today and accommodated me because I was walk-​in. Technically I called and made an appointment 45 min later. The receptionist (I forgot his name, I’m so sorry!!) was incredibly hospitable. Everything someone in customer service should be, he is. He walked me through everything and made sure I was very comfortable while I waited for Brandon, my massage therapist. Signed me in, explained everything, showed me where to change and offered me something to drink.
Now for the reason I came here: a massage.
My massage therapist was Brandon and I was his first official client (omg correct me if I’m wrong: o) and his third day working there. I have been to one other massage place before and Brandon was more than awesome. He made me feel comfortable, made sure everything was perfect for my first time and was just overall amazing. He massaged my head, face, and neck before getting to my body. Let me tell me that was heaven right there. I didn’t even know they massage your ears! Before this he gave me a foot massage which was great.
I have a lot of tense muscles and a slight painful «injury» and he explained what it could be the cause and advised what could be done to help it. So nice. He really knows how to relax you and make you want to sleep. There is just so much to write but you really just have to experience it yourself. I want to go back already and just have Brandon massage my back all day~ T_​T
There are many massage therapist’s that work there and although I have only had Brandon, I recommend him to anyone new and old. I already made an appointment for next month with him and I didn’t even do that with the other place I went to earlier in the year!

I’ve been here twice now for a bikini wax. The first time I came was a year ago and I had the best experience, I don’t remember who my esthetician was but she was awesome. She knew it was my first time, talked me through everything, let me know not to go out in the sun for 24 hours, etc. and the wax itself was done very well and lasted quite awhile. The spa itself is beautiful, so clean and calming, five stars for ambiance for sure. But this time my experience was less than stellar, I had a very nice woman named Julia. However, she worked very quickly, and did lots of repetitive ripping instead of slower larger ripping if that makes sense. This resulted in a few hairs still left on my bikini line and the area is more red and irritated than my first time. Disappointed and upset that I didn’t know the name of whoever helped me a year ago because she was great and if my review was on that experience alone it would be five stars…

I had a deep tissue massage once with Roger and twice with Brett, they are both excellent, my shoulders and neck have felt so much better and my sleep has improved since the treatments, I highly recommend both therapists. Also, the spa itself is lovely and soothing.

I love getting my massage here. I can’t remember her name but she always does a great job. Although a relatively small spa, I love the ambience. I’m immediately put to ease here. They start you off with a nice foot massage with a scrub. Then they take you into this room that smells so nice. The ambience inside is very nice too. I’ve fallen asleep a few times because its so relaxing. I would love to go back but its hard having a baby. Maybe one of these days I can go back! I love the 90 minutes massage!

I received the Citrine package as a birthday gift. I didn’t know much about it going in, but after looking online I feel ripped off.
I arrived and everyone was very nice and the spa was very clean and soothing.
The website says that every treatment over 60 minutes includes a foot soak. I was there almost 3 hours, this was never offered. I let it go thinking I didn’t get it because I had a package.
I had a very nice salt glow scrub with Julia and it was an okay treatment leaving my skin a little softer. It’s just arms and legs having scrub solution applied and wiped off with a washcloth. Great for beginners who are shy.
Lunch was next in the package. Had a nice, healthy selection of lunches from a local restaurant. I really enjoyed my fruit bowl and veggie sandwich. The only bad thing was that I was not done eating and I was asked to come to my next service. My mother in law hadn’t finished all of hers, but she was done eating. I asked them to wait 5 minutes while I chowed down the rest of my food. It wasn’t relaxing. The patio we ate on had a grated fenced that was open to the parking lot of Burgertown USA… not exactly comforting when you are naked and in a robe in open view.
Next was the thing I feared most: the facial. I expressed my concern before I even changed into a robe. I have had 2 facials before in my life, and they left me with f-​ed up skin. I asked if I could switch to another service, but there was no one there to do any other services. I should have ran, but I was there with my mother in law and was not going to desert her. I expressed A LOT of concern and finally gave in to getting a facial, assured there would be lots of care taken.
When facial time came (Victor sold my fiancé the gift certificates) had assured my fiancé upon purchase that I would have a choice of essential oils for this part. I was not offered any (by Tessa), but just dealt with lavender, I figured it might have been a soothing choice since I harped on every detail of my skin currently and results I had in the past. Tessa was very welcoming and I enjoyed her attitude. Most facials on the site menu say they include hand and arm massage… I cannot find anything resembling the facial I got, so I guess I can’t complain about that not happening. A round of painful extractions later (I have pretty clear skin) I walked out red faced… where everyone told me it wasn’t «that bad». The redness did go down after a few hours.
Now, 2 days later I have a bruise on my forehead and broken skin from an extraction there. I also have 2 big zits near my cheek and nose. My skin is much worse than when I walked in. Very bummed. I go on vacation next week and have to start it like this.
I did not have a «beautiful day at Bellissima». Everyone was very nice, but it just wasn’t worth it for me. The building is nice, but the services and experience need some polish to go more smoothly.

I have been receiving massages at Bellissima for a number of years. They rate 5 star. Tami does an excellent massage relieving any painful or tight muscle areas that I come in with.

Very friendly staff and the massages are amazing. Can’t wait to go back. It’s definitely the best place around.

Bought three one-​hour long massages as Christmas presents based off the positive reviews. Just called to schedule one and this was my exact convo:
THEM: It’s a beautiful day at Bellissima.
ME: Hi I’d like to schedule an appointment for tomorrow.
THEM: We’re actually closed on Sundays.
ME: Oh, dang. Ok. Are you open Monday?
THEM: I’m actually on my way out the door.
ME: Uh. What does that mean? Are you saying you want me to call back on Monday?
THEM: Yea, um, we’re closed.
Nothing like terrible phone etiquette customer service to make me feel great about dropping bank on three massages, and put me in the right mood for the one I’m trying to book.
It’s a little annoying they aren’t open on Sundays, but I get it, I guess, since they are connected to a salon. What isn’t ok is for them to answer their phone if they have no intention of answering questions for the customer on the line. And with a pretentious and obnoxious attitude to boot.
Perhaps the actual session will be so great I’ll forget all about this. We’ll see.

I’ve been here before for waxing an I decided to try out the spa services. I’m a veteran massage goer at other spas. Here’s my review–
Brett: 5-​stars! He gave such a great massage! He mixes in acupressure with his technique – superb! I would highly recommend him to friends and family.
Parking: 4-​stars. Well this place is on State St. in downtown Redlands so parking can be an issue; but I can’t complain too much.
Customer Service: 5-​stars. They were so nice on the phone and they were able to accommodate me on a busy Friday.
Cleanliness: 5-​stars. This is a must for me… come on its a spa.
Asthetics: 5-​stars simple, relaxing, and everything you would ask of from a spa.
Lunch package: 4-​stars. Good, but I prolly won’t do this again. After my treatment, I had to wait around for about 10 min because the food hadn’t come yet. But I just sipped my hot tea and read a magazine. They food was good! I think they get it from the Root Cellar down the road. I think next time I’ll just get my treatment.

Who knew this place was even here? I had no idea, was next door at the beauty supply trying to get my brows done. They called and got me in with Tessa here at Bellissima. She is SO good, I guess they call her the eyebrow wispier and I have to agree. She got the bend in mine I wanted and is so knowledgeable about what she does. I will be back for sure to see Tessa!!!

Looks wonderful. Smells good. But something is rotten in this spa. If you get a good massage therapist, make sure to get their contact details because they won’t last long at this spa. I so wish that this spa was well run, because it’s close to home. Too many frustrating experiences. For a year I tried to get «Stacey» to give me a receipt that would enable me to get reimbursed by my insurance company. She kept insisting that the spa wouldn’t bill insurance, I kept insisting that I didn’t need her spa to bill my insurance, I just needed a receipt with all of the pertinent information included. I went to a massage place in Grand Terrace instead because they would give me the receipt I needed, not as nice as Bellissima and a long drive.
Finally they agreed to give me the requested receipt and I started going to see Sergio or Gentry. Both left the spa. So did I. Three weeks ago I went back, booked a massage and a facial. When I went in for the facial, no one knew anything about it. I went in two weeks ago for a massage and was told, by Stacey, that it would be complimentary because of the botched facial appointment. When I went to leave, I was charged full price.
Made an appointment for a massage for myself and my husband, who is suffering from back problems. Kimberly called yesterday to confirm the appointment.
We went in as scheduled at 10:45. I went in for my massage. My husband was left sitting for an hour waiting for me because they had screwed up the time for the massage.
I wish these people could get their act together. Very disappointing.
As of December 2013, they have two very good massage therapists, Amanda and Tammi. But like I said, the good ones don’t stick around.

I freakin’ love this place. The front desk staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is o-​so-​heavenly. I have had 3 – 4 massages with Tami and each time, she focuses on whatever’s specific to what I need. Love!!! Last week I needed attention in my jaw, neck and shoulders so she spent lots of time working to release all that Christmas tension. The month before she helped me release my psoas in order to loosen up my low back. Yes, anatomy peeps, she’s very knowledgeable AND very caring. I always feel like a million bucks after.
In conclusion: You must go to this place! NOW!

What a great place to get pampered and to «get away» from it all… the moment one walks in, the calming aroma of healing and relaxation will hit the senses. This spa uses all Aveda products and also have them available for purchase. I’ve come here mostly for my waxing because the ladies here have always done it perfectly… I tend to get horrific results when I go anywhere else…(nearly lost one eye brow at another salon)…I also had chosen this spa as my go to place before my wedding… oh boy, how I felt refreshed and rejuvenated for my wedding day because of my visit here! Yes, the services are a bit pricey, but I’ve always had a quality and positive experience here. I’m sure you will too.

I kind of just want to live here.

Victor is just the best. He is always happy to see me and greets me warmly. He also takes the time to explain products to me — even when I have a million questions about every product! And when my husband went shopping for my Valentine’s gift, Victor was very helpful, and remembered what I was eying, and helped my husband put together the perfect gift!
And their services are just amazing. I love Tami now, too. She is also so helpful. Now that I’m pregnant, I really rely on her to help with my skin and let me know what’s safe and what isn’t. The maternity massage was terrific, and I love that she does facials and massage!
My last service started with a foot soak from Tami, and then the facial, and then massage. My service before that included lunch, which I ate in a private room with candles and relaxing music. Honestly, I could just move in.
Bellissima really is as good as it gets. I can’t wait until my next appointment!

*** Update***
After posting this review and completing an email review that the business solicited after my service, I was contacted by the management of the spa. They apologized for my unpleasant experience and explained that a new employee had misinformed me, that their policy is not to shorten their treatments in order to allow for changing, paying, and discussions. I was told that the new employee was counseled regarding the actual policy and the spa management has been made aware of the situation so they can ensure this does not happen again. They also sent me a gift card to use in order to try their services again. I have not had the opportunity to do this so I cannot comment whether my second experience was improved, but I certainly appreciate the fact that the management is concerned enough about their clientele that they would personally call and apologize for an unpleasant experience and try to rectify the situation. Because they seem to actually care about their customers, I will give them a second try and I am glad that they are willing to address these issues before it happens to other customers too.
Spa-​goers be informed!
I have gone to Bellissima several times in the past and had good experiences, but it looks like they are starting to pinch pennies with the poor economy. I booked a 45-​minute facial with Amber last week and arrived for my appointment. I had to suffer through the 10 minute questions of what are you using on your face (insert gasp, I can’t believe you use that on your face, your dermatologist is crazy, you should only use what I recommend, yadda yadda yadda…) I then had my facial, which was pretty good. The problem was that I booked and paid for a 45 minute facial. I received a 30 minute or less facial, considering that it took 45 minutes for me to be scolded about how my products aren’t very good and to undress, have the facial, then dress, wait in line at the cashier to pay, and then walk to my car down the street. I called the spa, thinking there must have been a mistake because in the past when I book and pay for a certain treatment, the time of the treatment is the time they have listed on the menu of services.
Amber told me that is no longer the case, the spa now considers the time you have to sit through their sales pitch, undress, and later get dressed and pay for your service all in the time of the service! She went on to say that the same is true for all their services and no matter who performs them. She said it shaves at least 15 minutes off of any service so a 60 minute massage is really only 45 minutes, etc.
If you are going to go to a spa, I would recommend going to one that is going to at least give you what you pay for, which is what I will be doing from now on.
