AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care

Haven’t met Mike in person yet but he gave me SOLID advice over the phone while I was fighting the dealerships price to have my rear main seal replaced. Mike, the dealership made things worse so I’m going to bring the job to you!

The customer service manager, Mike Maloney, recently checked over my grandson’s 1997 Subaru and assured us it was safe to drive on a long trip. All this at no charge! He couldn’t have been nicer and we felt confident in his judgment. And, as he stated, there were no problems on the trip at all. Thanks, Mike

Took my car here for a check engine light issue and because my car was running a little poorly. The manager, Mike seemed nice but over worked; that should’ve been the first sign. They had my car for 3 days and every day I called about what they found Mike would not really go into too many details about my car and rush me off the phone. Well finally on the morning of the last day he finally called and told me that they finally found out what was wrong with my car, gave me an expensive price and it was done later that day. Within a week my car started acting up again and check engine was back on. So pretty much they didn’t fix anything and I know that they were not working on my car the whole 3 days they had it, heck I have a feeling they don’t really know too much about cars. They had a lot of business when I was there but it seems like it’s for mostly simple car repairs.

Horrible experience with this business! I have never let any other mechanic besides my dad touch my car because people always get ripped off at repair shops, etc. I took my car here thinking they are trustworthy hearing great things about them. The only reason I told it here was because my car was not shifting over 30 mph and I wanted a computer hook up to tell us what’s going on. Basically we got the codes from aamco this location and we replaced the parts, when we reset the computer the car shifted fine but when I turned off my car to turn it back on it would take off in 2^nd again. I took it back to aamco because we assumed it was a computer or electical problem at this point. Mike said let’s do the internal check for $ 200 and see what’s going on, he said it’s a bad transmission so with his «honest» opinion we had them rebuild the transmission at a cost of $ 2800. When I came to pick up the car they said they took it for a test drive after they put it all back together and the car was doing the SAME THING AS BEFORE! Mike said we think it might be a computer or wiring problem. Wth?!! So I had to buy a computer, they replaced it and my car was like new. Shaking my head with frustration they said the transmission was still bad. We got most of the old parts and they are all in good condition, my dad and a few other inspectors said all the parts we got back were fine, the transmission was fine, there was no need to replace the transmission. After many calls to AAMCO corporate, the owner finally talked to us but he doesn’t want to do anything for us, I’m still out $ 3000!!! Mike knew they screwed up so they said they oh well give u a 2 year warranty for free instead of a 1 year warranty and we will pay for the programming of the computer but they’re not the ones paying for a rebuilt transmission that didn’t need replacement. I had my mechanic inspect the transmission job: the top housing bolt missing, a clamp loose and the transmissoion pan is leaking.

I really trust no one else to touch my mustang except for the boys at this location. Really good service with Mike and really awesome work from the mechanics on site.

I took my son’s car to AAMCO in Redlands after being told by Toyota of Redlands that it needed a $ 4,000 transmission. To my surprise the customer service oriented people at AAMCO said all the car needed was a cable replaced. They saved me $ 3,650! I will recommend these guys to everyone. I couldn’t believe it. Awesome!

I trust no one but Mike and Phillip with my car. Customer care is the best and so helpful.

If you want to have an honest, and VERY ETHICAL mechanic in charge of getting your transmission fixed; then pull right on into the Redlands AAMCO. Mike let me know upfront that his main goal was to have me leave his shop as a happy customer; and for the most part he sure did.
He and his men rebuilt the transmission on my ’97 Isuzu Trooper. It was a bear to work on, because the previous owner had a buffoon work on it. So the clown who worked on it before just made a mess of everything. Mike had to deal with a lot of crap left behind from that previous wrench-​toting hack.
I had no problem with the long wait, because Mike was constantly letting me know what was going on WELL AHEAD OF TIME (communication like this is a very valuable commodity; because it lets me plan my day). Mike and his men were thorough, friendly and demanding of their own work. He let me know upfront that he wasn’t about to let me roll off that driveway with anything but a finely repaired machine.
The only problem I had that stops this from being a «5-​star» rating was a minor issue that we worked out completely to my satisfaction. The problem honestly isn’t worth going into detail, because I never, ever had any doubt in Mike’s integrity as we worked through the problem.
The bottom line is that Mike took a car that couldn’t shift out of first gear; and finished up by repairing it into a smooth running machine (the engine on this car was previously replaced. Lucky for me not by the same bone head who replaced the transmission before I bought the car).
If you pull into AAMCO, then brush away the worries of being ripped off, bull-s*#tted, and deceived. Instead, you’re going to get a mechanic who is proud of his deserved reputation as an honest mechanic who wants «word of mouth» to spread in his favor.
No, AAMCO isn’t cheap by a LONG SHOT, but their guarantee is strong, their customer service is on point, and they’re represented well by Mike in Redlands.

Mike was very nice. He kept me updated on the progress of my repairs. He had someone bring me home from Redlands to Riverside which wasn’t expected. If you need transmission work I highly recommend this repair shop. My truck was completed in a timely manner as promised. Thanks Mike!

Glad i have a new car that does not need a transmission. Took my previous car there for transmission work. Lets just say I will never return and would never recommend this place to anyone in the future. Surprised at the other positive reviews, must have been from the nice people in the front counter– they really seem to care, The quality of their transmission work is sub par.

I own an old car — 68 Volvo 122s — I bought it in non running condition and have been slowly replacing components while getting it back on the road. Sadly it developed a screeching sound when I would depress the clutch to shift into 1^st or reverse. After some investigation it turned out to be the pilot bearing. This is an inexpensive part that is difficult to reach since you need to remove the drivetrain and expose the clutch. This was over my head since I am still learning how to repair this car, but I wanted to understand what was involved and see the work in progress if possible. I entered AAMCO on Redlands blvd and was greeted by Mike Maloney. He was interested in my car and the fact that I had been trying to get it back on the road when I was faced with this new problem. I did some reviews online for some other shops while I waited for my replacement parts (I elected to replace the whole clutch, since I plan on making this my daily driver). After reading other glowing reviews of this particular AAMCO and especially Mike, I went ahead and scheduled the work. While the car was being serviced I stopped by the shop twice and both times Mike was willing to make time to talk to me and let me look under the car while the work was ongoing. I picked up the car today and am pleased with the results. I still need to work on the old Volvo to get it completely road ready but if I come up against another task that requires a lift I will head straight back to see Mike at AAMCO on Redlands blvd.

I think the guy who helped was mike, he was soon sweet and honest. I was scared they were going to abuse the fact I was a woman and alone with no clue about my truck. Got a free check engine light check. Told me the codes and possible issues. he made me feel safe! Awesome place

After receiving terrible service at Transmission Plus of Redlands, I limped my way to AAMCO of Redlands where the manager, Mike, listened to my recent woes and assured me I’d be taken care of.
The owner of the business even personally came out from the woodwork and told me they found damage done by the other shop and would fix it for no extra charge.
The service and repair was done and I could t have been happier. I kick myself for not coming here in the first place. I know I’ll be bringing all my vehicles here for now on as well.
Kudos to the Mike the manager, the owner, and the mechanic who worked on my vehicle for running an spectacular business and taking pride in their work.

This is by far the best place to have your car worked on. They are very honest and they have great customer service. Larry and Mike are the best!
