Love this place. Great meats and Polish products, very generous owners with good hearts!

The pizza literally looks like they made the whole thing and forgot the sauce, so they just took a scoop of piZza sauce and poured it on top. Bread was undercooked. The pizza tastes rushes.

The artificial smoke flavoring on the kielbasa tasted awful, and made my house smell also… never again

Fantastic Market! Everything I have gotten there has been delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. Definitely recommend for fresh high quality meats!

These Polish and Finns got it right every time. I’ve been going here for around 15 years. I cannot say I’ve ever been disappointed. I live in Wixom and it’s definitely worth the drive and my time. I know exactly what I am getting when I buy from here.

Great, old fashioned meat market. Don’t know what William is talking about, in all the years I have been coming here, they wait on people in the order they enter the store. Very nice meat, Polish specialties, & friendly service.

Both their fresh and smoked kielbasa is some of the best tasting and fresh in the Detroit area. An old fashioned butcher shop with friendly service.

Joy View Market has the nastiest tasting kielbasa ever! I tried it once, and it was one too many times! The owner had the nerve to say that the ladies at Markowycz in Detroit told people to go to Joy View… he’s out of his mind! Definitely, no comparison. You couldn’t pay me enough to go to this place! I don’t understand how they stay in business… unless whoever goes there has no taste buds left!

It doesn’t get any better than the Joy View Meat Market. If you are not from around the area it is worth the drive. The food and service are second to none. My family has made it a regular stop since the 1960’s. Home made kielbasa and all the other meats and other items are excellent.

You don’t have to go to Hamtramck to find great Polish food, especially since they sell pierogi and soup made by Srodek’s. Joy View smokes their meat onsite, as evident by the fragrant smoke billowing from the rear of the building. Fresh and smoked kielbasa available but I’m not sure if they have kiszka. They do have REAL BACON by the pound. They also have a small section of dry goods, bread, kolaczki, and fresh produce but half the store is meat. Lots of beef, pork, chicken, ham, and sliced deli meat for a fair price.

KIEL-​BAAAAAH-​SAAAAAAAAH. Ahhhhhh. Though I haven’t had landmeat in a while, I have to admit that this smokey, seasoned tube of meat smelled pretty damn good. The kielbasa is homemade and though regular old kielbasa is the best-​seller in this store, the chicken variety is righteous. My husband is a big fan, and actually prefers the chicken kind over the original.
Small (breakfast) sausage links aren’t homemade, however they are super fresh and very good. I add them to breakfast sandwiches on those mornings when I’m being nice and I actually make breakfast sandwiches, and my husband loves them. What is homemade is their ground breakfast sausage and some pretty damn good spicy dried hotlinks, both of which are deelish! I spotted some smoked porkchops here which I need to have my husband try next.
I prefer buying meat at smaller independent stores rather than at big grocers, and I pick it up here when we are in the area. We happen to frequent a certain delicious restaurant neighboring this shop, so I am happy to have found Joy View Meat Market to supply my husband with his protein.

Absolutely the BEST home-​made kielbasa ever! Even better that the now sadly closed Markowitz’ on Michigan Ave. Other great meats as well and incredibly friendly service. You want coffee? Urn at the end of the meat case. Cream? Inside the cooler. They might even have some fresh donuts, which they gladly share.
I grew up in Redford and have no idea how I coulda missed this place back then, only discovering as an adult. Fantastic!

To give you an idea of of great the food is here I had to come online and give this place a review while I’m still eating my dinner. When I walked in earlier today I was welcomed in by the smell of the smoked kielbasa (which I bought, of course). The staff was friendly and I was a little surprised that they offered so much! They have the best pierogies I have ever had in my life. The smoked kielbasa is to die for. Kolaches are always good, but these were extra powdered-​sugared. I can’t wait to go back to try some of their meat cuts! I’m only giving ⁴⁄₅ stars because I haven’t tried everything!

We stopped in after our lunch at Phở Lucky next door. We came to take a peak — It was clean, efficient and had free sausage samples: d. My friend and I were very impressed by the obvious landmark. I will definitely be back to give it a proper review and pick up pierogi, sausage and those little polish cookies with powdered sugar.

I needed 12 steaks to grill for a BBQ at my house. When I asked the real, old-​fashioned, honest-​to-​goodness butchers for help in choosing, they pointed me to amazing looking Porterhouse steaks. I didn’t want the hassle of carving them off the bone after grilling, so I inquired about the NY Strip steaks. When I said I needed 12 of them, the owner, Greg, said, «you’d be better off buying the whole strip and we’ll butcher it for you.» Well, I got 15 beautiful, thick NY Strip steaks (plus an extra end trim «for the dog») from my strip, which they butchered by hand — an almost lost art.
Dividing the entire strip by the 15 steaks it yielded an average cost of only $ 5.64 per steak — extraordinary quality at a phenomenal price!
The best was my guests’ reaction — including three people who exclaimed that they were the best steaks they had ever had in their entire lives.
I also served Joyview’s house-​smoked kielbasa — a taste treat beyond compare. I bought two double-​links and there were NO leftovers to put away.
If you haven’t been in to see ‘da guys since Memorial Day, you’ll be pleased to discover, as I did yesterday, that they have busted out the wall and doubled the size of Joyview — practically at the corner of the northeast intersection of Telegraph and Joy Roads (only about three buildings down from the 7 – 11).
Skip the chain grocery store and come to a real butcher shop — you won’t regret it. The fact that we can support a local, family-​owned business that’s been at the same location for nearly 50 years is just an added bonus.

I discovered this market several years ago after tasting some soup made with their kielbasa. This is the kind of place people used to go to buy their meat, before they started buying the stuff wrapped in plastic at the grocery store. I have bought their fresh kielbasa and pirogis for years now. Best kielbasa I’ve ever had!

These guys are the best! Beats any meat counter in any of the overpriced, overhyped and overcrowded chains in the area. Fast friendly service and the occasional shot to boot! Dig it! This place has been open since shortly after WWII and is family run!

These guys are a dying breed. Butchers that actually know what they are doing. I was on the search for unsmoked pork shanks, my first stop was recommended to my by a friend and was a waste of time, not helpful, and a little annoyed by my presence. I though this was odd as i was trying to purchase something, but maybe I am just crazy. I found Joy view Meat Market through Unilocal and decided to go the extra distance. This is a little place with a lot of characters. Not only did I get my pork shanks, I bought some of their home made kielbasa and some other random deli cuts. Every thing was great, especially the kielbasa!!! I enjoyed talking to a seasoned Butcher instead of some uninformed guy in a white coat acting as a butcher.

This is the real McCoy. Old school butchers at their best.
No not dogs or soy bean burgers in this joint. Just 4 or 5 big Polish guys behind the counter serving fresh meat and some of the best kielbasa I’ve ever had in my life. They don’t like skinny people here as evidenced by the following ACTUAL dialogue I heard there:
[JOY MEATS GUY]: {talking to me} «Hey buddy, how ya doing, der? What can I do fer…{stopping and looking at my petite Japanese wife} hold a sec. I’m gonna ask her first, she’s cuter den you. What can I git ya, darling. And don’t be shy about what you buy. You look like you could use a few pounds on ya. Like dat beautiful young lady over der «{pointing to a VERY large and voluptuous woman standing five feet away}
[LARGE VOLUPTUOUS WOMAN]: {laughing} «ha ha, ah baby, you so funny. you know I’m a grand ma ma»
[JOY MEATS GUY]: «Shoot, yer looking good ta me. I like my women built fer comfort not fer speed, darlin»
You get the idea. The place is amazing. My only regret is I’m sucked into the deals at Costco sometimes and I don’t support these guys enough. I truly recommend you do if you want some excellent meat, the way it used to be sold in the old days when you knew the butcher behind the counter — with personality. These guys make it fun, which is more than I can say for the big chains. The prices are very reasonable also. Stop by for some free donuts and coffee on Saturdays also.
