Just recently discovered SBRC after spinning my wheels trying to find opportunities for work as I don’t know very many people here in my hometown of Redding anymore. True to Deborah G.‘s review, the people staffing this place are nothing short of fantastic! You can walk in at any time and utilize a number of free services (e.g., getting your 10-​key or typing speed certificate, conducting job searches and applying for positions on their computer, a complimentary USB stick to store your resume and related materials on, staff assistance with various SBRC services). Staff members go out of their way to give you a tour of their services and guide you on how to accomplish various tasks.
All in all, SBRC is a top-​notch resource for job seekers and shows a lot of promise for boosting my chances of finding some opportunities so that I can hopefully stay here. Here’s hoping!

Last week Katy Cochrane, a childhood friend the past 40 years, told me about the SBRC. I walked in and met with Rosa Mena, who assisted in bringing my resume’ to perfected life. She gave me a USB stick to put my resume’ on so I may update it when needed. She also had me log onto CalJobs’ site and connect them with my resume’. Yesterday I met with Laura Barbeau, another Program Advisor, who helped me hone my strengths in the job arena. She said companies contact the SBRC when looking for specific employees and these jobs aren’t posted on the Internet. Being a part of the SBRC’s team, I’ll locate the job tailor made for me ~ and I won’t have to be on a cash register! For those in search of inexpensive, professional clothing for when you mean business, head to Goodwill on Hilltop Drive. For the best kept job-​hunting secret in Shasta County, walk into the peaceful and resourceful Smart Business Resource Center ~ FREE to the public and NO appointment necessary!
