History

Established in 1944.

SJ Denham was founded in the 1930s by SJ «Stoney» Denham in Redding, California. The business was originally started as a gas station and repair shop in downtown Redding, CA. Stoney returned from Fort Lewis, Washington after World War II, and with assistance from family, he built a DeSoto and Plymouth dealership on North Market Street that included sales, service, parts and a body shop. The grand opening of SJ Denham DeSoto Plymouth was in 1945. Over the years, through much hard work and a strong commitment to taking care of customers, the business grew.

Today SJ Denham is a third generation, family owned and operated one stop automotive center providing Chrysler, Jeep, Ram and Dodge vehicles, service and tires for all makes and models, Mopar Parts, a full service collision repair center and two Hertz rental vehicle locations.

It’s never a good experience to have a car wreck, but it happens. We brought out car to SJ Denham and I am so glad I did. They did a fantastic job in a timely fashion. The communication is fantastic and the photo updates are much appreciated. We are so grateful for the work they did and getting our car back to us «good as new».

These guys know their stuff. Don’t take your car anywhere else. Always polite! If you forget something in the car, they will let you get into it. Their work is clean and looks new.

I have had work done at this collision center in the past and been satisfied but something has changed. They must have gotten a new manager or he is just more visible then in the past. Any how I tried to have some factory Mopar accessories installed that I purchased from the parts department and the manager kept putting me off from having them installed. I believed he was worried that he was in over his head and did not possess the skill level needed for the install. Had to take the vehicle to Reeds Body shop to have parts installed that turned out perfect ! I should have went there in the first place and not even wasted my time however one would think that you could have the parts installed at the same dealer you purchase them from.

Took our Lexus in to SJ Denham collision center this week. The people there were all super friendly and helpful. When we got the car back, the repaired area looked brand new! Not to mention that the inside was completely detailed. I would definitely do business here again!
