Went there again last night! Monday night special is «Burger and Brew)…you pick any burger from the menu and pay the cost of the burger you pick and the beer(any beer) is on the house. Can’t beat that! Any their burgers and absolutely amazing! Different specials any night of the week(weekdays) but even without the specials everything is delicious and very reasonable. And since they serve alcohol… No Kids Allowed!!!

I always enjoy coming here they have great nightly food and drink specials, prices are reasonable and they often have great music. When it’s crowded there isn’t much room to dance, but over all it’s a great place to hand out and chill.

Hadn’t been here in years and we’re glad that we made the decision to return. The food was great as was the service. The place was filled with locals. Not a tourist in sight. They tend to gravitate towards the more well known establishments such as Jack’s and Nellos. Sadly, they don’t know what they are missing. Next time you are in the area stop here instead. You won’t be disappointed.

One of my favorites! I like the atmosphere. My favorite item on the menu is their veggie melt sandwich. Never disappointed with the food or service.

Love this place! Lunches are great, nice full menu. They have nightly specials that can’t be beat! The food is consistent and the staff is always friendly. They have music on the weekends, always nice local bands. Check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

Really great burgers and fries! They had many burgers to choose from. Plus many other options. Cool atmosphere and friendly staff. I would definitely return. Decently priced. A burger meal will cost you about $ 10. It did take a little longer to get out good but nothing crazy. Can’t believe I have lived in Redding for so long and have only been here once! Many more visits to come!

Love the food. Best burgers in Redding. There are no children allowed, so it is a great place for adults to go. The music at night can be very loud, so sit away from the speakers if you want to preserve your eardrums. Everyone who works here is nice and upbeat. We usually go for lunch.

What a great local watering hole! The pub food is par for the course, priced right and just tasty enough to fill your belly. The bar staff is friendly and happy to chat you up or leave you to your own devices, and the regulars add more than a bit of charm. The lack of windows makes it a great spot to catch a daytime game on their TVS, and, as an added bonus, there are NOKIDS! With all the new trendy eateries and bars popping up in Redding, the Post Office Saloon & Grill holds it down as a dependable staple.

This is mostly a bar. Service is ok. My husband and I are in our early 20’s and the regulars won’t stop glaring at us like we are lost. Food was ok, but we won’t be going back anytime soon!

Go see the Torpedo’s band play there! Fantastic! Could be a little better drinks but are made stiff, So, it’s a must go!

Really enjoy the slower pace of this little gem. The Long Island Ice Teas are high octane! The price for a special rib eye and cocktail are not to be had anywhere in the area. Bar tender and staff are the reason to try out for yourself.

Always fun to go check out what’s going on at the post office. Every time I have gone so far there has been a band playing and I think that’s awesome! Wish there were more drinks on tap… But the red couches remind me of another fav hang out spot lulus and the square bar of allstars down In Anderson. A couple of favorite spots smashed in one plus you can have dinner there. Nice change of the«downtown» scenery.

There are a few really cool things about the Post Office. 1. It’s a music venue that primarily hosts local talent. Granted, the local talent is deeper in some ends of the pool than others, so on one night you’ll get the great Muletown String Band or Slam Buckra(RIP) and his Groove Palookas. But on another night you’ll get a guy and his acoustic guitar doing Eagles and Jackson Browne country-rock covers from the 70’s, and then he’ll say, «Okay, this is me tryin’ to keep it fresh, keep it modern,» before covering«I Love this Bar,» a Toby Keith song from a decade ago. But for the most part, the music is good and the intimate venue is fun. 2. It has a huge old wooden U-shaped bar that divides the music venue area from the dining area. The selection of beers is okay(not great by any means), the bartenders mix decent cocktails, and the service is generally outstanding. But the bar is the star. 3. It really was a post office back in the day, so there are still old PO boxes on the walls and such. Redding being Redding, it’s shocking that the place hasn’t been gutted and turned into a generic clone-a-raunt bar and grill by now. The food is your basic pub chow, long on a variety of burgers. I’m not going to say that the eats are four-star food, but it’ll do if it’s one of those evenings where the food can take a back seat to your need for a live music fix and a couple of pints. A good spot to have a drink before hitting a concert at the Cascade, too.

Always consistent! You never have to wonder if the food will be good or if the service will be worth your hard earned $. It’s the«Cheers» of Redding. They remember your name, your drink, and your favorite meal. A weekly must. Thanks to you all!

My first time at the Post Office was sadly unintentional. The Friday of the Christmas weekend is a tough time to go out drinking. Crowds of people at all levels of varying attractiveness bumping and jostling you while you have to stake out the bar and be willing to show a little tit to get some booze to help you forget about the jostling. This particular environment is what sent us out into the night looking for another bar to sit and get schnockered in. While wandering through the frozen tundra we like to call the downtown garage in December, we catch a glimpse of the unassuming Post Office Saloon & Grill. With our destination(the 501) so far away and our sobriety way too intact, we slip in through the dark wood front door. Cozy home away from home was the first thought that occurred to me upon entering the room(actually the first thought was oo bar!). Warm woods all throughout, a space for a band at the front by the door(we were told they have live music every night). There is a large wrap around bar in the middle of the room behind that is a series of tables and bright red booths. The bar tenders were extra friendly and the patrons were a fabulous mix of folk worthy of watching and co-habitation of this fine establishment. Our favorite evening opener is an Adiós or AMF. They do it right here… tall old school milk jug looking glass that is mostly booze with a splash of sweet and sour. It wasn’t to loud, and it certainly wasn’t to crowded. This place was the favorite out of all the folks we were hopping with(except the two super new drinkers). We will definitely be back to sample more live music and more tasty beverages. Next time we might try the food too. I approve Post Office. You have new fans in this group of hooligans.

If you’re looking for a old school bar with good steak, you need to stop by this joint. I ordered a steak and practically swallowed it whole. Service was also good. Our waitress was attentive to our requests. Ambiance is not stellar but they had some great vintage items from an old post office which I totally appreciate because I’m into retro stuff. I would stop by again when I’m in town and craving hearty meal.

My GF and I were passing through Redding on our way to a camping trip(North of Lassen) and decided to stop because we were hungry for lunch and parched from the long drive(from San Jose area). We found this place while walking around the busy metropolis that is Redding(sarcasm). The bartender/waitress was as nice as can be, food was pretty good, the World Cup game was on the Big Screen, the other patrons were interesting and tolerant of my outburst(s), and the Alaskan Amber on draft was exactly what the Doctor ordered.

The restaurant is a cool place and staff is great(especially the bartenders) but the food is only so-so. They do have a decent beer and liquor selection.

Good food, live music, cold beer. Great little hole in the wall! Known for having good live bands. Small, intimate venue. Google map is wrong.
