Brett & Emily Photographers

If I could give BEP no stars I would. What a nightmare experience with them and it happened to be the most important day of my life. I was so excited to book BEP as our wedding photographers. The package included 2 photographers for 7 hours, a photo booth for 3 hours and a 1 hour engagement session. The engagement session was awesome. That’s where the good photography stopped.
To start off all the problems we had the day of the wedding Emily could not be there to shoot with Brett due to family reasons. Brett emailed me a few days prior to the wedding to let me know that she would not be there and he had hired a replacement photographer. The day of the wedding Brett showed up late which meant he missed the guys getting ready and the girls and I getting our hair and makeup done. He also missed pictures of the limo ride. Then I found out later that he told our wedding coordinator he called me to tell me he was going to be late. He never called, that was a lie.
BEP asked for a picture list of family members and certain pictures we wanted. He didn’t get half of the pictures requested. I had also asked him about certain shots I wanted and was told «no.» I had to be rude and not take no for an answer to get 4, yes only 4 shots, I requested. Had I not been persistent I never would have got them.
Throughout the night Brett was rude to me, my family and members of my wedding party, making us all feel uncomfortable. I had to continually ask him for shots that I had on the photo list he was provided otherwise those would not have been done either. Oh and the shots he did take were all in the same spot with telephone poles in the background when we had a gorgeous venue with 2 ponds, 2 bridges, stairs and a water wheel. None where utilized.
I had a feeling that we forgot to do a wedding party photo while we were away on our honeymoon but I couldn’t remember since the day flew by so fast. When we got our pictures back my worst nightmare came true. Not only did I not get one single wedding party picture but he delivered me finished pictures with the telephone poles in them. I emailed him to let him know how upset I was and after I complained he edited the poles out.
Brett’s response was the most upsetting thing of this entire nightmare… He had excuses for everything and blamed several things on us. I’m sorry but I provided a detailed photo list and reasons for the details and that’s the reason I hired a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER. Lets just say they are not professional.
Brett only apologized for missing the wedding party shot and basically implied that the rest was our fault. After arguing back and forth for a few weeks and Brett not returning my emails I finally was fed up and told him we needed to resolve the issue and asked that he reimburse my parents a fair amount for the poor services we received. Brett refused to return money and offered a photo album instead. We already had a photo album made and did not wish to have an album (that would only cost him a fraction of the cost he should return to us) and declined the offer. After declining the offer Brett continued to make excuses and turned us over to his insurance company to handle the case.
I can say that dealing with the insurance company, who is seeing both sides of the story, has been much less stressful and they are working with us with no problems and have seen valid reasoning behind every point we have made. I am happy to be dealing with them instead of Brett.
So… sorry to have written a book but people need to know what kind of service they may receive from BEP. With the prices they charge I expected a great experience and flawless photos. Now I have a bitter feeling about my wedding day and only some photos to reflect the day.

Oh my goodness, I can’t recommend Brett and Emily highly enough — they are amazing photographers and so so so wonderful to work with. We just received our beautiful wedding pictures, and we love them — every picture is beautiful and Brett and Emily captured everything perfectly. I knew how beautiful the pictures would be from looking through their past work, but I had no idea how much fun Brett and Emily would be to work with! I want to have another wedding just so they can come as guests — they were seriously a blast. They were organized, thoughtful, and kept us (and our whole families) laughing — basically exactly what you’d need if you’re anxious before your wedding. They are incredibly professional, responsive, and had great crowd control with big group pictures. Brett and Emily were the best choice we made in our wedding planning — I’d recommend them as photographers to anyone!

Emily and Brett photographed our wedding in the fall of 2009 they also did our engagement photos prior to our big day. When I was searching for a wedding photographer, I like many brides was looking for something unique, edgy and different and that is exactly what I found in Emily and Brett’s work. They were professional, reasonably priced and so much fun to work with. I love every single picture from our engagement session to our wedding day. But, what I loved most about working with these gifted photographers is the way they were able to capture exactly who my husband and I are and the love that we share for each other.
Emily and Brett’s photography has only gotten better since I married my best friend in 2009. I honestly can’t wait for see what they do next and I can’t wait to work with them again in the future. I truly cannot recommend this wonderful couple enough. Not only are their photos fantastic, but they are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. They made my husband and I feel completely comfortable behind the camera from the very beginning. You can tell they love what they do and are truly passionate about capturing your special moments from start to finish.
I am so happy they are back in Redding doing what they love. You will not be disappointed in allowing Brett & Emily Photographers to capture your wedding day, from the details to the I do’s you will love every photograph!
