Among the things I reasonably expected to never see in my life is line of people waiting to get into«the Bayside». People in Red Wing of the current vintage don’t even know where Bayside is, or what it is. Now that it has been remodeled, and serves food not exclusively from the decrepit deep fryer(new owners?), Bayside has become a new trendy dinner place in Red Wing. The line was out the door Friday night. It was like a Twilight Zone only in color, and starring the people of your youth, now only older. The steaks are really epic good, The radio plays classic rock. Good beer on tap. There was a line forming at 6:00PM. Cons: the salad was warm, which kind of spooked me. The one very small dining room seemed like something out of the ‘70s version of Willy Wonka – tons of people went in there but no one ever came out – it’s a tiny room. Is there a ladder or a time portal? Also, get the server with the beret – he really seems on the case. Didn’t see the horny rooster sign anywhere.
