Broadway Transmission & More

This is the owner of Broadway Transmission replying to the RIchard Brown review. His complaint was for a repair we did not charge for as it was his assumption that the 4wd he reported to us as not working a year after his transmission was repaired was our responsibility. We never dealt with this man at all for the transmission repair but his wife and I think they don’t communicate well as did communicate clearly with mrs brown on all the possibilities that can occur in a rebuild of this model transmission. We told her that many of these models need the case repaired as well as the overhaul but we cant price that up front if it is not needed we wouldn’t charge her for it. I feel bad that she did not communicate that with her husband all we had covered and a year later he complained about it.
Second. When they dropped the suv off for us to look at a non related issue we did not charge them to do so. He then lied and said the folks at the dealership said we were at fault for his internal damage to his transfer case of which we never had apart as part of his transmission repair. I called and talked with the service manager and tech and they assured me they said nothing of the sort and Mr Brown had a cow that we called the dealer. He had it at other shops looking at why the 4wd didn’t work before he brought it to us. He was never nice to talk to and he was very pushy and asked my son who works there if he was on crack. Then he like a very few in this world thinks we would respond to threats. He gave me a timeframe to tell him I would fix it free again a component we didn’t work on or he would sue us.
I let him sue us and he lost! He is now just sowing sour grapes for the poor way he has handled this. During this time I was taking care of my 15 year old son who was paralyzed on his left side from a football game and taking care of my father in Baltimore who has cancer and I told him that I would try and work with him but he had to be reasonable and that his truck was not going to be as big a priority for me because of how he talked to my son and myself and with all the time I was away from the shop taking care of family. He said he didn’t care and just wanted his truck fixed and he thought it was our responsibility once again to fix a component we never repaired or billed for in the past.
We aren’t perfect… But we always are reasonable to reasonable people. This is one we could not reason with and folks neither could the courts… Ive never been sued in court before but I don’t think its normal for a judge to do face palms and shaking his head when the plaintiff presents his case.
I wish the Browns well and will stand behind the work we did do and charge for which is reasonable.
