TaxTrim was founded by Charlie Rubin in 2009 after successfully grieving his own taxes and getting a 25% reduction (saving $ 2,000 per year). As a professional database analyst, Mr. Rubin decided to create a tool to help other homeowners more easily prove their own cases, and has since helped hundreds of people grieve their taxes.

Mr. Rubin grew up in upstate New York, and began writing computer software at the age of 13. At 16, he graduated from High School and was accepted as a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he graduated in 1987. Since then, he has worked as a professional software designer and database architect, consulting with numerous firms around the country. TaxTrim is actually his second startup company, his earlier one having been built around a voice response platform he developed after college. Mr. Rubin currently splits his time between New York City and the Hudson Valley, where he lives with his wife and two children.
