History

Established in 1930.

Red Feather Lakes is an unincorporated mountain community in the Northern Colorado Rocky Mountains in Larimer County, 54 miles northwest of Fort Collins. It is surrounded by 600,000 acres of Roosevelt National Forest, at an altitude between 8,000−8,600 feet. Outdoor enthusiasts can find plenty to do in the RFL area: fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-​country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, etc.

Originally platted in 1924 as the clubhouse location for a planned resort community, Ramona Lake Cabins has offered lakefront cabin rentals since 1930.

Located at 1078 Ramona Drive, Ramona Lake Cabins is situated on 1.6 acres at the edge of Ramona Lake. Our six (6) cabins offer a unique combination of historic log cabin exteriors and fully furnished interiors which have been updated for your comfort and convenience. Choose from a variety of cabin floor plans which sleep from 2 to 8 guests.

DON’T GO! One star because I can’t do zero. The owners were so nice while setting up our wedding guest housing. They over charged us and when we talked to them they gave us a partial refund of the overcharge. While I was showing the owner the evidence of the overcharge he went off on me with the rudest language and attitude, wow it was amazing! We then said we would like to retrieve or baskets of food that we placed in the rooms for our guests they said that they already took them out and gave them to the poor. Quite a bit of work in just a couple hours.

Clean, cozy, and courteous. Really, nothing to complain about. My husband and I, with our dog, stayed at the Bear’s Den for a couple nights. The fire place and the full kitchen were a nice treat. We were able to go cross country skiing during the day at Beaver Meadows ranch resort just a short 15 – 20 minute drive away. Barb and Rob were great!

A clean and pleasant experience just right for a night away from home. We felt welcomed and little Cabin 6 was wonderful. We were left wanting for nothing other than a longer stay. Looking forward to coming back!

We stayed in the Moose Hill cabin back in May and it was seriously one of the most relaxing, wonderful trips we’ve taken in a long time– this cabin is SUPER spacious (two separate bedrooms, a full kitchen and dining room combo, a front room, and a sun porch), a really cozy fireplace, and of course, wifi and TV.
Have a dog? You can bring your pup along with you… Feel like hiking? There’s trails all around… Feel like staying in? There’s a little grocery store in town (town is about a block long? ADORABLE) to pick up goodies so you can cook and hang out. Like to fish? There’s a lake about a hop, skip, and waddle from the cabin…
Also, if you’ve never had the pleasure of seeing fish LEAP out of water, just look out the sun porch– you’ll see them. There’s also bald eagles but we didn’t spot any…
The owners are really, really wonderful– they’re there with a smile and suggestions and are building out a space in the lodge for drinks and light fare… if we didn’t move away from CO, we’d be headed back for regular trips.
