Allegro Campground

This Campground is not open to the general public and is only for owners of Tiffin Motorhomes. It was an old airport converted to a campground for those having service done on there motorhomes. Sites are close together and gravel. Roadways need repaving. Dusty during dry periods. Sites are within walking distance to the service bays. Long waits for service work to begin are not uncommon sometimes 2 – 6 weeks before work even begins. They do NOT accept appointments or reservations for service. First come first served, so they say, but exceptions cause confusion and hostility among owners while they wait in the campground and see others come and go before them. An appointment system is badly needed. Once it is your turn and work begins in the first service bay you are assigned to things go smoother and progress can be seen. Lead techs and mechanics seem knowledgeable and experienced as well as generally friendly. We were there a total of nearly 4 weeks before work was completed. This included waiting 2 weeks before even getting into the first bay. Management needs to re instigate a appointment system they once had but with improvements. The motorhome owners time should be respected by not making them wait. Many unhappy campers here. I would not come back here again for service unless I had no other choices. Especially after the warranty expires. Current nightly rate $ 20 even while waiting to be seen.

This «campground» is really for those Tiffin owners that are having service done to their coach at the service center here. This campground is an old runway strip from the old Red Bay airport. You can still see the markings down the first drive coming from the office. All of the slots are crushed rock, but usually quite level. There is laundry and showers on the property, and all slots have full service hook ups to include 50 amp service. There is a concrete WASH PAD for cleaning your RV, and that is free to use at anytime. There is NO WATER during the freezing winter months at the site; however, there are two water hook ups that you can use to fill your tanks throughout the day, so, you should be aware of that going into this. There are no fire pits, picnic tables, or any other amenities you might think of at a campground, which really proves that point that this is just a waiting area for those of us having service done.
The cost of the campground is $ 20 per night, unless, your Tiffin Coach is within the first 12 months of your new purchase, in which case, it will be free with your services being completed.

I’m in love with the Tiffin motorhome company. We heard about the quality, great design, reliability, livability and especially the Holy Grail of successful businesses — customer service. We went out of our way to visit their factory in Red Bay, AL on our way to FL. When we arrived we were welcomed to stay free in the campground — full hook-​ups– til we had our turn (first come, first serve basis) then like a swarm of bees, guys started showing up checking our home in their specialty, marking any problems they found. With a 2007 Phaeton, were out of warranty, but because of their good will policy, they’re fixing a $ 2000.00 paint delamination on the roof, and a myriad of tricky tacky things inside. We will be replacing a wood floor slide-​out with aluminum that they use now ourselves. They told us we’d be a month out. Paul talked to the scheduling lady, looks like we’re in this Friday! If you’re in the market for a motorhome, go past all the others, bite the bullet and buy TIFFIN. BTW, we sold our 4000 sq ft home, moved into this full-​time and are loving this life-​style
