This seems like a shop where you’ve got to be in some special elite club, or they don’t want you in the shop.
The vibe in this place was not my cup of tea.
I have $ still in my budget, for tires pedals etc, off to Hill Top!

From tricycles to tri bikes, Jonathan and staff are fully engaged to give you the best bike, helmet, wetsuit, or handlebar bell for your money. These guys are truly invested in you. Best, friendliest experience I’ve had, I’ve found my shop for life!

Great place for all of your bicycle needs. The owner, Jonathan, goes the extra mile whenever humanly possible. Recently there was a mix up on my part to day I needed my bike ready. When I called to find the status, it was not yet complete. Jonathan said he had down for next day, but would get down to the shop and get it done. 2hrs later my bike was done & ready to race. Prices for top notch service are reasonable as well. Turnaround times are very fast, faster than most others around. Plus, the cappuccino machine in the Red Bank store is a plus.

I have had experiences with 5 different bike stores in the area and have made the firm commitment to ONLY use Jonathan at Red Bicycle. Despite the 35 min drive to get there, Jonathan has been attentive, very honest, and extremely dedicated in making sure I receive proper knowledge, service, and price when it comes to my bike and accessories .
Jonathan and crew have never said «no» or «we need a week» when it’s been crunch time and I have had a race coming up. He’s even taken me out for a ride to help make sure we picked the best bike for me !
He makes himself readily available and truly enjoys what he does. His love for biking, fitness and experience in racing completely sets him apart from many others and he has earned a customer for life. Thank you Red Bicycle !

No stars, LIVID! My bicycle, fixed again for same issue and also billed again, told by Bob (the only reason I was coming here) its ready and someone will gladly stay after 5pm so you can pick it up. Called today, unfortunately Jon the owner (who is getting a divorce, is going through an obviously stressful time and should hire someone to deal with the public) told me ‘Bob doesn’t know my schedule’, nobody can stay after 5pm because ‘I need to pick up my daughter who is more important than you’ (I kid you not, he actually said this). Note to Jon: Stop bleeding on your customers, I know more about your problems than I need to. You are the worst business owner in Red Bank, bar none.

Jonathan, the owner and his team operate a great shop. When something goes wrong with your bike, bring it to Red Bicycle. You will not be disappointed with the expertise and turnaround time. Also, the inventory of bikes are amazing. A must for anyone looking to purchase new high end, and or great used bicycles.
Bike accessories too. I purchased a double bike rack on my FJ Cruiser and Red did a superior job in the installation.
We also had our bikes fixed and upgraded and were very happy with the result.

I went into Red when I was searching for a bike shop to repair my mountain bike and also considering a new bike purchase. This was the 3^rd bike shop I called on. I went in on the advice of my brother who is an avid rider, both mountain and street. He said that the owner Jonathan was a great guy and that the repair costs would be less than others.
My first visit was just before closing and the mechanic, Bob, was still there. He patiently reviewed some of the bikes they carried and was very informative. I was really taken with the Linus bikes, very cool urban rides. I told him I would be back to drop off my mountain bike and talk to Jonathan about a Linus.
In the meantime I was at a large «chain» bike shop in Brooklyn and saw the Linus I was interested in, a floor model marked down below MSRP, not in the color I wanted. When I went in and met Jonathan I asked him if there was any budging on price — he humorously said with a smile «Ok, let’s haggle — this will be fun.» And he told me he would match the Brooklyn floor model price. Wow.
It went beyond him wanting me for a customer. I got the distinct sense that he just wanted me on the bike– out riding. It is a pretty cool thing.
I highly recommend Red Bicycle.

When I first saw that a new bicycle store was coming to Red Bank, I was excited, as I dislike much of the staff of Bike Haven, over in Fair Haven, and find that their repairs are nothing to get worked up about. I usually frequent The Peddler in Long Branch, as they have very friendly staff, an excellent line of bicycles to choose among, and great repairs; however, I greatly dislike having to drag my bike a half an hour away every time something goes wrong.
The Red Bicycle has a very fine, high-​end selection of expensive, though of quality, bicycles to choose from. Their mechanic, (Bob I believe), is friendly, and an excellent mechanic; when he’s there, that is. The location is great, the repairs are good, and it’s a nice little shop. That being said, this is all ruined for me by the attitude of the owner of the store, Jonathan.
I have frequented this store multiple times now, for various repairs and small parts, and each time I come in, I receive the same snotty attitude from him. He acts very arrogant and full of himself, as though he knows everything and you’re just a stupid peasant. The last time I stopped by here, I came with my friend, who, though enjoys bicycling thoroughly, knows little about them. He needed brake work, and was trying to get at least a price quote. During this, he was trying to make small talk about the bike trip that he and I were planning for later that day. All Jonathan could offer was sarcasm about how wonderful that was, good for you, etc. After asking for a price quote for the brake repairs, he spat out the individual cost of each part and the labor cost. When I tried to reconfirm the total, all he did was reiterate the individual prices in a very impatient fashion, as if I am stupid or deaf. I was so disgusted with his manor that I decided it was a fine time for me and my friend to leave, never to return.
The high prices, limited mechanic availability, and most importantly, disposition of the proprietor, make for a rather aggravating experience. Maybe this establishment is attracting the «new money» to the area, like many other recent stores in Red Bank who similarly offer top of the line items for ridiculous prices and mediocre service. But to anyone who actually values friendly service, and maybe some empathy if you’ve decided to not dedicate your whole life to completely understanding a bicycle, and need some help along the way, you’re looking at the wrong place. I think the half hour drive for a bicycle store who completely has it together is worth it.
