Home of NJ’s FIRST Cupcake Bar. We specialize in custom cakes, custom cupcakes, candy buffets, cake pops and favors. Mostly we sell a lot of cupcakes in Red Bank and a lot of cupcakes in Monmouth County.

You can step right up, «GO NAKED» and create-your-own cupcake by chosing one of our naked cupcakes and we will dress it for you at our CUPCAKE BAR!

If you want to have your own cupcake party, we can create and run a cupcake bar at your private event or send you home with a cupcake kit where you can host your own party.

History

Established in 2010.

My partner and I have been planning events and making cakes and favors for friends and family for years. When we got married in June of 2010 the pressure from friends, to do this professionally, grew.

So we decided to give up our lives in NYC and open a sweet shop/cupcakery in a great little town in hopes to make people’s lives easier.

We want people to feel like they are a part of our family as we help make their special more sweet.

Business Owner

Jesse Bello-Paseka grew up in Middletown, NJ and was a sought after visual designer for over 10 years in NYC working for such companies as Frette, Joseph Abboud and Searle. He has spent the last five years planning independent parties and creating customized cakes. He has studied at I.C.E in NYC and was recently featured on The Food Network in a Hometown Challenge.

Chris Paseka grew up in Belleville, NJ and was trained as an event designer and florist for over 10 years. He has spent the last 11 years working in commercial theater and at Disney Motion Pictures. Chris has planned parties, special events and created merchandise for dozens of shows/movies including Wicked, Billy Elliot, The Addams Family, «Enchanted» and «Wall-E».

Best cupcakes! They are always fresh. You can stuff and top it with any filling you like. I like the Reese’s pieces one, the confetti one, the carrot cake one ok I just like all them! Lol. Awesome place for fresh cupcakes and they also make custom cakes which is very fresh as well! If your having a party order from this place they’ll be the talk of the party:)

Best cupcakes in Monmouth county. Amanda the new owner is great. Worked easily with me, listened to ideas I wanted. Her brother, previous owner was telling me what I should have. Example I wanted a larger cake and he said a smaller size. The pull apart engagement ring cupcake cake was a huge hit! Looked beautiful. Amanda even gave me sample cupcakes when I booked it. Free delivery to Salt creek grille. That was great, one less headache to worry about. The cupcakes are moist and the best frosting. They are really good when they are fresh, she pipes the frosting right on in front of you in the store. She was on time and even gave me extra cookies & cream cupcakes and brought 2 beautiful cake stands for me to use at party ! It looked fantastic. All the guests devoured those in 5 minutes!!! Will definitely be stopping by store again, when in area. & highly recommend for any party!

Ordered cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday party. They were super delicious and the ladies at Sugarush couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. They are a smidge on the pricier side, but well worth it. We received tons of compliments on the cupcakes from kids and parents alike!

They’re OKAY if you’re looking for a quick sugar fix but I don’t think they’re phenominal. I got a chocolate cupcake here with vanilla whip cream & sprinkles. The whip cream did not taste good at all (it tasted so artificial). I probably would have preferred eating the cake by itself. I tried the pb cupcake as well and it was only slightly better. They put little pieces of chocolate reeses on top which made it delicious, but again, I was not a fan of the cream.
I am giving it three stars because I liked the little candy decorations inside and the service was good. There was only one person working and she was very sweet.

Walked in, was the only person there, and was told to wait. Waited a few minutes, to find the person was very unfriendly. Didn’t really answer my questions about what today’s products were. The reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the cupcake itself was good. Was excited to go in because everything looks so cute, but wouldn’t go back just because of the unfriendly and off putting service.

I used Sugarush for 50 stuffed cupcakes for my daughter’s shower. Amazing! We picked 5 of each of the top 10– you can’t go wrong with ANY of them! It was an absolute treat for my guests. Best cupcakes ever. huge, moist… I can’t say enough! Thanks for such a memorable dessert, which made my daughter’s shower very special!

I’ve been looking for a place that sells cakes since I moved to Middletown last year and I think I’ve found it. I saw they were listed in The Best of Monmouth 2015 and decided to give them a try since they were close. My order was pretty simple. Four red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Nothing fancy, just plain and simple lol. They were delicious! Moist and fresh and the frosting had the right amount of cream cheese. I’ll definitely be stopping by again when I have one of my cravings lol or need cakes for a party.

My Aunt went to Sugarush to order cupcakes for my sisters bridal shower. I had a very specific idea in mind of what I wanted them to look like. She said that she went there several times and they were always accommodating, helpful, and friendly. What a delicious treat! I am not typically into the cupcake shops, but this one is great. The cupcakes taste homemade and the perfect amount of frosting. I enjoyed the confetti cupcake with vanilla icing. I’d definitely recommend it.

I love coming here! Design your own cupcake bar! My daughter is equally as hooked… it’s the little things, such as choosing the color of sprinkles to top your cupcake. We also love the piping of the icing… makes them look super pretty!
My niece dropped her cupcake on the floor and the girl behind the counter happily provided us with a fresh one… I’ve been here several times. It’s always a hit.

Simply amazing cupcakes. So many cupcake place make monster size cupcakes that are dry and and lacking in flavor. This place makes flavorful moist cake and they have you pick your frosting. So you get what you want made right in front of your eyes.
I also had a scone recently and it was equally delicious.
My favorites include the pumpkin cupcake with cinnamon frosting, crumbcake with vanilla crème frosting and the signature sugarush!

IS THIS REAL LIFE? My God, Sugarush is incredible, like a magical dessert fairytale. It’s sort of like the Coldstone Creamery of cupcakeries — they have plain cupcakes ready as a canvas, & you decide what you want done to them. Stuffed with peanut butter & iced with lemon, with sprinkles & gummy bears on top? Hey, OK, Sugarush can do that.
Because they don’t have a bunch of flavors, like most bakeries do, it can be a bit overwhelming to step into Sugarush if you don’t know what you’re getting into, which leaves indecisive folks like me wide-eyed, jaws dropped, with no idea what to order. My suggestion is to check out Sugarush’s Facebook page before you come in; they regularly post special cupcake creations, & they can remake almost any of them on the spot for you if you ask. It’s a lot easier to say, «I want those Brownie Brittle Toffee Crunch Cupcakes I saw on Facebook» than to try to invent something on the spot. (By the way, those are chocolate cake stuffed with caramel, topped with Heath Bar pieces & a Toffee Brownie Brittle crumble. YUM.)
Sugarush regularly takes part in local events like the RB Food & Wine Walk, & they often create special cupcakes for causes (where a portion of money spent to purchase those cupcakes goes toward a named charity, like the Trevor Project or Autism Speaks). I love a company that gives a damn about the local community & about larger causes — & I’m always happy to give my money to progressive, liberal, cupcake-makers!

Cupcakes before lunch? Why yes, yes indeed.
I almost, almost, left without ordering anything bc their offerings in the display case seemed very slim. Then I asked «you don’t have any of the Cannoli cupcakes today?» and the kind dude behind the counter said «of course I can make you one.» I was a little confused at first but was sold.
It turns out, Sugarush is a cupcake bar and you choose your cake, and frosting, toppings if you choose, and they fix it up for you on the spot. RAD!
So, I got my vanilla cake topped with a cannoli cream frosting and was as happy as can be.
The cupcake itself was fantastic! I have not had a cupcake this good in a long while. The cannoli frosting was cannoli cream perfection. Pretty genius flavor option if you ask me.
The staff here was beyond welcoming and it was such a warm and inviting atmosphere. We sat in the little back room to eat our treats and who I’m assuming was the owner, finished up his work on his computer next to us, chatted with us for a bit, and then headed to the back and told us to enjoy and let them know if he needed anything. Fantastic, personable service to the umpteenth degree.
I think I kind of fallen in love with cupcakes again.
