The best Mexican I have had since my time in Arizona. Burrito Texano, Enchilada Suiza. Delicious. Our waiter Juan was really great and funny too.

Alright, this place is pretty good, but we’ve had a few experiences here that were not so much. Complimentary Salsa and chips– great, the green salsa is delicious and the chips are fresh fried, and amazing. I could put that salsa on anything. The rest of the meal, really just alright. I am a huge, huge, huge tamale lover and get so excited to see a mexican place that serves tamales. These tamales were alright, nothing overly special or delicious. Beans and rice were a little bland but ok. On our second time we came is was on cinco de mayo(I know, I know, wrong choice) and we waited and hour after sitting to order our food, and then another hour to get it. They definitely were backed up but many people around us who sat after were in and out before we even got our food. My fiancé, who usually is the patient one when it comes to restaurants, was extremely ticked off, and suggested leaving– something I’ve never heard from him before. We did get our food(I believe a ticket in the back was lost or something) and it was just alright, not worth the time we wanted for it. So, for the chips and salsa I will seriously give it 5 stars, thats how good it is, for the rest, thats why its only 3 stars.

This is our favorite Mexican spot hands down. We are here at least once a week and it never disappoints.

I’ve now been to this restaurant twice. The first time I placed my Togo order inside the restaurant & specifically asked for my sides(salsa & sour cream) in person, as they bagged my order. The second time I called, ordered two meals & an order of chips and guacamole. While trying to order a steak chalupa they told me they were out of steak. I next requested beef & was told that they do not serve ground beef, despite the fact that the menu offers a beef option on most dishes. Both of my entrees were forced to be chicken. We ordered a chicken chalupa & chicken enchiladas with verde sauce & no beans. On the call I asked for extra sides of salsa(more than what is typically given) with each order. I picked up my order and realized that my enchiladas came with beans, even though I requested no beans. Furthermore, we didn’t receive a single side of salsa. We didn’t even get the sauces which are supposed to be included in each order! Already disappointed, I went to eat my enchiladas & they were SO dry that they were inedible! It was clear that the verde sauce was close to non-existent. I’m upset that I spent this money on the order when almost everything was wrong.

Very good. The shrimp with garlic cream sauce was tasty. I’ll be back next time I’m up in Red Bank.

Two words: BURRITOTEXANO! I get it every time. The sauce on that burrito is the best I’ve ever had. This is a great Mexican restaurant and I definitely recommend it.

Went in here this past Saturday night, with my wife and son. The food was okay, but I don’t think I will be going back. Chips were pretty crispy if that’s what you would like. The place is BYOB.

My wife and I came here one night because we were in the mood for Mexican food and we heard it was good. Full disclosure, my wife and I are from Texas, so we have become pretty picky about our Mexican food. We walked in and got sat right away. We even got our drinks fairly fast. We got our chips after a short wait and ordered guacamole. They brought out 2 salsas with the chips. one was excellent, the other was meh. The guacamole was pretty good. There are probably 15 – 20 tables in this small restaurant, and 2 waiters. We finally got a chance to put in our order and ask for more chips. We waited. and waited. and waited. Finally, our chips came after our food was delivered to our table. I ordered a burrito with some delicious green sauce. It had a salad on the side with Italian dressing(umm, what ?) Unfortunately, the burrito itself wasn’t as good as the sauce. My wife had chile rellenos. It was actually pretty terrible. There was hardly any pepper to it and it was mostly batter. The batter tasted disgusting. My wife had a couple bites and couldn’t finish it. The restrooms were in terrible shape(probably because they had 2 people serving 15 tables). I wonder how disgusting the kitchen is? We will not be going back to find out.

I love tacos but this is not the place to get them. The flour tortillas tasted cheap and the tacos were not flavorful. Overall, a bland experience from what I’m used to.

If Donald Trump ate just one meal at Señor Peppers, let me tell you amigo, he’d stop talking about building a wall between the US and Mexico! Gringoes can’t cook food like this! And it’s a good thing too, because otherwise you’d have to travel to Mexico and travel far, far away from the usual turista hot spots to find food this tasty, authentic, and inexpensive. Señor Peppers is an easily overlooked gem just across from the the Red Bank train station, nearly in the shadow of the upscale Galleria and the Two RIver Theater. It is, poetically and literally, on the other side of the tracks. When you are jonesin’ for some tasty south of the border delight, you might pass by and think, «no way; not for me» as you head for Juanitos or Carlos O’Connor, or, God forbid, Chipotle, but you are making a big, tasty mistake. What the restaurant lacks in ambiance, it makes up for in the thing you are searching for in Mexican food in the Red Bank area — the real deal. So, pull hard on the doors to overcome the powerful ventilation system, grab a table, order the guacamole, open your bottle of whatever BYO you brought, and break out your reading glasses to read the menu. But even if the font is too small for you to read, just point at anything on the menu. You can’t go wrong. Seriously — $ 62.00 for a party of four adults. Get there before it gets«discovered.»

This place is PHE-NOM-ENAL!!! I’ve never had a the Burrito al Pastor(rice, beans, roast pork, pineapple) like that before. The tortilla was an authentic bread wrapping, not like the grocery store version most places serve. My dad got one of their Pechuga(chicken) dishes with spinach, sun dried tomatoes and red peppers. We’re talking Mexican cuisine here! And the prices??? Extremely reasonable.(Lunch $ 7-$ 9, dinner $ 14!!!) Our server Theresa was friendly and cheerful and welcoming. This was my 1st time here and definitely not my last!

So stopped in this place for lunch. Decent atmosphere. Was greeted with chips and 2 different types of salsa. Red and green. I asked which one was the more mild sauce. He replied«I have ketchup in the back if you would like.» I gave him an odd look. After drinks were delivered he stood there staring. Finally I asked if he was waiting for our order. He said yes. So hurriedly we ordered a couple Tostadas. I asked for a second basket of chips. They never came. Beef was ok, chicken a dry. You could tell it was small strips pre cooked and then re-heated. So we ordered our lunch. Me the taco Dorado, my guest taco Mexicano. I asked if the taco Dorado was similar to a Toquito. He rolled his eyes and said that’s an «American term» If we wanted«Taco Bell was down the street». At this point I was sick of being insulted by the staff simply for asking questions. It was obviously our first visit there and they didn’t care if it would be our last. We paid for our drinks and Tostada and left. We were not thrilled with the meat on the tostada, and being insulted by the staff I was done. I think he was obnoxious. And arrogant for food that was just ok.

Unpretentious and simply good food. If you’re looking for fancy this isn’t the place for you. If you are looking for a solid Mexican meal this is great! It’s not very big inside but we had no problem walking in and getting a table. Service was great too.

Fantastic, fantastic value. I recommend the Señor Pepper Fajita Special: peppers and onions with an outrageous amount of grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, chorizo, and a pork chop for $ 12.95. This is a meal for days and it was delicious. The spinach, shrimp, and bacon quesadilla is also worth having and the rice and beans are outstanding. Everything I’ve had here is authentic and flavorful. It’s an inexpensive Mexican place on Bridge St., so what I’m saying is that the help is very nice but the décor/fixtures/furniture is bare bones. The prices are in line with the facilities so I have no complaints; they’re 25% to 50% cheaper than the place up the street. And they do takeout.

I came here with my family on a Saturday night after going to the beach. It has your typical Mexican restaurant décor — strings of chiles and garlic, sombreros, and a bright orange and yellow paint job. Our waiter was a funny guy — my dad can’t handle any spice on his food, but he was happy(if a bit perplexed) to give him chicken fajitas without any seasoning. Our food took a while to get to us, but they definitely do a lot of takeout, so Abuela was busy in the kitchen. My chuletas a la veracruzana(pork chops) were quite good — covered in onions and tomatoes, and swimming in a smoky, nicely spicy chipotle sauce. The rice and beans that rode shotgun were flavorful as well. My sister’s tacos dorados were alright — the chicken on the inside was pretty dry. But the guacamole was good, as were my mom’s chilaquiles. And my dad’s chicken was pretty bland, which made me cry inside but made him happy. The highlight, perhaps, was my agua fresca de tamarindo: I ordered a large, and I literally got a quart of it in a plastic soup container. Aromatic, sweet, tangy — so good. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Red Bank!

Had the serious Mexican food shakes so I really wanted to try Señor Peppers. Funny that one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at(North of The Border) is within visual sight out the window of Señor Peppers. I ordered the steak Chilaquiles with red sauce and while good it just wasn’t as special as the same dish I sampled at North of the Border(same dish my sister had ordered at North of the Border(NOTB), which I had a pretty large portion to try). The steak was chopped into small strips(compared to a whole strip of steak at NOTB) which was fine but it left some pieces a little overcooked and just a little stringy. The red sauce was tasty, but I felt it was a little lighter and thinner compare to the thicker and more tangy NOTB sauce. Rice and beans were tasty, but each were just a bit softer than I like(I prefer my rice and beans with a little stiffer texture). The rest of the Chilaquiles was very good, as the cheese, sour cream, and avocado slices were all fresh and really helped cool the rest of the dish. My sister ordered the Señor Peppers combo of one burrito, one tamale, and one tostada. My sister gave me half of her tamale and it was excellent. It had a nice texture and fresh chicken in it that was well seasoned. Her tostada was crunchy and tasty; all with fresh ingredients which really played well along each other. The burrito was a dense package of veggies, rice, steak, and cheese, which my sister was only able to finish half of. I sampled a good portion of her remaining half and it was good but will leave you feeling pretty heavy/filled. Señor Peppers provided a really good food experience, but if I had to choose a Mexican restaurant to eat in the area… North of the Border would be my choice.
