Specialties
Most of our furnishings such as our exclusive line of armoires, dining tables, and beds are crafted of aged Indonesian teak. The wood is reclaimed from pre-existing sources for minimal environmental impact. Hip and Humble Home also carries a large selection of upholstered and slip covered sofas, leather club chairs, and dining chairs– with more than 500 different fabrics and leathers to select from. In addition to our larger pieces, we offer unique village antiques from around the world, including benches, pedestal tables, textiles, carved stone statues, and ceramics. Our buyers have also gathered an eclectic selection of lamps, Moroccan fountains, bamboo ladders, and other unusual found objects.
History
Established in 1993.
Hip and Humble Home offers the largest selection of Indonesian furniture in the New York Metropolitan area. Most of our furnishings such as our exclusive line of armoires, dining tables, and beds are crafted of aged Indonesian teak. The wood is reclaimed from pre-existing sources for minimal environmental impact.
Built into our designs are years of revision and improvement, executed by local craftsmen at our manufacturing facility on the Indonesian island of Java. The work is overseen by one of Hip and Humble’s owners, who lives on the island and has established deep roots in the community.
