Wall to wall phony people. Bouncers who can’t control the crowd and only 2 working toilet bowls for the whole club on a busy Saturday night.

Place is an absolute shithole. Just somewhere to go scream, pay $ 10 a drink, get in a fight and listen to the same stupid fucking deadmau5 song over and over. Go to any other bar or headbutt a knife and have a better time.

Really cool place. It’s a mixed crowd of mid to late thirties. Went their for a birthday party and we were in the back. They have bottle service and it gets pretty tight in there but the DJ was awesome and it was a great party. Their martinis and specialty drinks are really tasty too! This place would go up in stars if they had a coat check. People would probably even pay for that kind of service.

Came her for lunch with coworkers. You can tell they still have a few kinks to work out. First off even though they were open for business they were using this time to update their window decorations for the holidays. This wouldn’t be a problem if the stuff wasn’t spread out all over the entrance so customers had to walk around it. IT gave the place a very lowbrow feel. On top of that during our time there a delivery came to the back and when no one answered they just kept blowing the horn, after a few minutes with still no answer they did it again. Finally our waitress had to run outside to deal with the delivery. This is strange especially since she was the only waitress at the time. The beer list was just ok as they did not have a good variety especially on draft. Food was the real winner here. Since we had a large group we order a variety of dishes and everything I tried was excellent. I would give this place a second try but many in a few months when the kinks are all work out.

Love the décor and table set ups. Very nice for a lunch date. Crab appetizer from the raw menu was delicious and fresh. Burger was perfectly cooked. Waitress was pleasant and attentive and gave great drink recommendations off their specialty drink menu. Definitely would go there again.

Went to Gotham, like we normally do twice a week and was stopped at the door by a gentleman standing at a podium and he stated«Dress Code is Strictly Enforced» on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. NEVER were we ever stopped at the door for dress code. It made my friend feel very insecure, and un-welcomed. We will NEVER return again.

Bouncer let random people cut the line for no reason. Couldn’t get in after waiting over 40 minutes. Bouncers a douche, wouldn’t recommend

The bouncer didn’t like my $ 300 shoes and said I couldn’t go in. There are plenty of other places in red bank, don’t go here!

Absolutely love this place. Cheese/charcuterie board, grilled lamb chops, and salmon entrée are some standouts. Fun, friendly bartenders that make you want to stop by just to say hey. ok, and stay for a few! Definitely a power scene, you never know who will make an appearance! Great addition to Red Bank.

The place doesn’t know what it is, loud music, people screaming in a microphone, ufc on TV but called a lounge? Is it a sports bar? Is it a dance club? Can’t figure it out?

My boyfriend and I went to Gotham for dinner Sunday evening. The staff was pro-traded as being new and inexperienced. They were not very tentative. Also, I had a berry drink that was recommended from the special drink list, and it was not good at all. The Downtown makes it so much better. I had the Margarita Flatbread for dinner. They need to make think of anther way to make it. It was very dry. All it was, was flatbreat(the bread was good), sliced tomatoes, a few lumps of cheese, and chopped basil on top. Nothing special for the price. They needed to have something more to it. My boyfriend had the burger. He said it was good, the strawberry sauce was okay… He only ate maybe half of it. The fries were good. I would only consider coming at night to see the atmosphere. But i would not recommend the food for the price. I rather go to Char or elsewhere in Red Bank.

I can’t speak much for the food because I never had it but I did come here to see a friend’s band play. It was my first time and I thought the atmosphere was great! Great décor, good drinks, great sound quality. Everyone had a great time! The only downfall I saw was that it took forever to get our drinks. A lot of the time the bartenders weren’t paying attention, doing tricks and not really focusing on the customers and this place was pretty pricy — at least for me. I would come back to see my friend play again, but not sure if I’d come back just for food & drinks.

This is a great new spot that I can’t wait to get back to. We stopped in for a quick drink and to check it out and wound up staying a few hours and getting food too. The bartenders were very knowledgeable, very friendly and very patient with walking you through their drink menu. We happened to stop by during Happy Hour and they had many different specials and a good food menu. The food itself was decent overall. We got the Mac & Cheese which was nicely seasoned with bacon, but the truffle was non-existant. We went with a fig & truffle flatbread which was a very nice sized portion. Overall, it’s definitely a spot we’ll be back to try more menus on both their food and drink menu’s.

An incredibly bad experience. Went here for Valentine’s Day, and was told we needed to book earlier in the evening and we could be squeezed in at 6 pm. We got there and there was no customers, and they wanted us to sit by the door(in Feb) by the window so it would look busy. The service was spotty and the food was dreadful. But the big laugh is the corny art on the walls. A print of Bruce Springsteen on metal, shot with bullet holes is one example. Embarrassing. BTW — I wrote a similar review, and it disappeared. I’m watching you, Unilocal

Dont let the upscale appearance of this place fool you. Yes they make great drinks, menu is small, food is good but the service was very lackadaisical. I witnessed one Saturday evening, they lost 9 potential, not counting my fiancé and me, customers in a span of 15 minutes due to a lack of communication between the hostess and waiters. Nobody but the bartenders seemed to be actually working. The hostess stand was a gaggle of bouncers, hostesses, and waiters just looking at their phones and conversating like they were off on a Saturday night. Our waitress seemed to lack training, and brought out the appetizers, salad, and main course all at the same time! Who does that?! We paid, and got outta there in a hurry and went to Char for drinks. In my humble opinion, this place won’t last very long unless they improve customer service.

After years of lurking, I finally feel that I found a place to comment. Please come here and bother Brent. You’ll find him sobbing on the side of the bar, making drinks worthy of Gods with his tears. Ask for his apple Manhattan and ignore his eye rolling. He’s secretly happy that you order it.

I feel like Gotham has a lot more potential than it actually exhibits. We went over for drinks after dinner at Catch with a group of about 10. We waited at the door for a few minutes right around 10:30/11 as they were at capacity(not exactly the best sign). We got in pretty quickly and noticed our significant others had made their way upstairs so we proceeded to follow… until we had to wait for 6 or so people to make their way down so we could join them — more waiting. The vibe, décor and ambiance are everything you would look for in an upscale lounge… very classy and well decorated. The bartender this past Saturday night was a really friendly guy who even took time(during what I would call a «mad rush» or «4 deep») to let me know which scotch they had available that night(but strangely enough, no Macallan 18). The music was okay, albeit very loud, but very«clubby» and did not at all elude to a «speakeasy» which they advertise as their genre. In fact, aside from some of the décor, there is nothing about this place that would resemble what you would consider a speakeasy. The clientele were also not what you would expect in this type of setting and I saw more vodka-club’s get ordered than whiskey, bourbon or scotch. At one point I ordered a few glasses of Laphroaig for the guys and the younger guy next to me says, «Scotch huh? That’s an acquired taste». In comparison, I was no more than 8 years older than him if he was 21… The problem is that whomever conceived the layout of this bar got it ALLWRONG. Putting the single upstairs bar at the very top of the stairs is just about the worst idea imaginable. Huge crowds preventing a smooth flow resulted in people CONSTANTLY stepping on your feet as well as bumping into you and spilling your drink — not cool when they advertise themselves as a speakeasy specializing in expensive whiskey’s, scotch’s and bourbons. The other thing I noticed was that bouncers were CONSTANTLY escorting people out. It was virtually non-stop with flashlights and taking 3 and 4 guys out at a time. We just assumed they were drunker than the rest of the people in there. We stayed for maybe two drinks and decided that the atmosphere was just too overbearing. It’s a shame because we intended on staying there and celebrating for the majority of the night, but when you can’t have a conversation because the music is so loud and you constantly have to step around people being escorted out, it’s just not going to work in a group larger than 4. This place would be much better suited as a reservations-only type of bar which could cater to people who come in to actually drink their selection of prohibition-era alcohol and cocktails. Overall, if you want to go to an upscale club in Red Bank, try Gotham. If you’re looking for somewhere to relax and have some good, prohibition-era spirits and drinks, your time would be better spent somewhere else. They’re probably making a killing because the place was packed, but the advertising is misleading.

Great new hotspot in red bank. Friday and Saturday night there is a DJ upstairs that does a great job. Bar menu is great, the sliders were awesome along with the nachos and fish and chips! Gets very crowded on weekend evenings, but is expected! Great artwork all around the place that is for sale. My only gripe with this place is the bouncer at the front door, I have been here about 3 times already and everytime i walk in i get an attitude from this dude about me wearing a winter hat… bro is literally 0 degress on relax i will take it off!

My husband and I went in after hearing how good the burgers were and we weren’t disappointed. The hostess who greeted us at the door was very friendly(and props to doing a job like that all night in towering heels!). We sat at the bar where the bartenders were friendly, passionate about the art of a good cocktail and very helpful. This is still their soft opening so I will be curious to see what the final menu is like. Gorgeous décor.

I love this place! PURECLASS! I enjoy the Speakeasy Style Cocktail Menu the food menu is also EXCELLENT! I like going in on Thursday for their BLUESNIGHT! The bartender, Brandon«THEBARMAN», made me the award winning«Smoked Baked Apple Manhattan»! It was AMAZING. I have never had anything like it. Friday and Saturday NIGHTGOTHAM turns into a club and it gets packed with beautiful people. Red Bank needed a place like this!
