Great place, awesome atmosphere, a lot of room, huge bar, great food!!! Would come back 100 times.

Ordered food from here through delivery dudes. The food was delicious and as I ordered. The ribs where oh so yummy. Even my dessert the pike Sunday came good and not just a melted ice cream. Burgers where good and huge big plus for very hungry people or a share for two people. Everything was labeled so I new before opening what everything was. Nicely packed and will deff recommend this place. The fried shrimp did need some seasoning or salt at least but other than that so yummy.

The Pike Café is a local bar situated on Pike and Moss streets in NE Reading. The outside of the business is well maintained and does not look run down which happens from time to time in the city of Reading.
When you walk in and take a seat at the bar or a table you are warmly greeted by your server who is happy to give you a menu and to get you a drink.
I have stopped by on multiple times since I’m from the area usually when I visit home. I stopped by on a Tuesday due to their Lobster and clam special. Boy oh boy am I glad I did. Whoever the chef is at the Pike the guy/​gal who buys the seafood knows what they are doing.
The crab bisque we ordered seemed like they took crab meat from 8 crabs and melded it with a fantastic bisque. I have to say it was probably the best crab bisque I have ever had. We also ordered the steamed clams which were 50 cents a piece. It reminded me of the clam bakes that everyone in Reading has during the summer time. The clams came out seemed and ready to be dipped in butter.
Finally the main dish I came for was the $ 16 lobster. This lobster wasn’t a small $ 5 dollar lobster that you can buy at a Kroger grocery store this was a Maine 8 oz. lobster. It was a really good size and would put Red lobster to shame for the price. The lobster was cooked well and came out of it’s shell no problem.
Our waitress was very nice and was very prompt with the drinks and knew how to handle the table.
Our bill over all plus drinks for the wife and I was about $ 50 bucks. We both got the lobster dish, shared the bisque and had some clams and a pitcher of beer. Also we found out that if you are with a table of six the Pike automatically ads a 18% gratuity which works for me.
Overall the Pike café is a true Reading establishment and I encourage locals and visitors alike to stop by anytime and give this place a try for its food and atmosphere.

Finally gave the Pike a try. We sat in the dining room. Quite loud. Mild and teriyaki wings were delicious. They even use real sliced carrot instead of carrot sticks for the wings. BBQ Berks and the Brunch burgers were also very good and cooked correctly. The bad: food took about 30 minutes to come out, probably due to two large parties in the dining room. The fries probably sat under the light because of this, so they weren’t hot. And they were out of the mango salad so they substituted some sesame salad instead of asking. And the salad wasn’t the freshest. I’ll still come back for wings or burgers though.

Your average sports bar with friendly staff. The chicken quesadilla was superb and the bartender made great drinks. Fun place to hang out with friends at the bar.

Good wings and beer specials. I have always had a good time when coming here. Try the spicy honey BBQ sauce.

Ughhh… so depressing. You like NASCAR, crappy beer, and fried food? This is your place.
Oh, how could I forget the the 80’s Miami Vice décor?!

Terrible service when Nicole is bar tending! Too busy talking to friends rather than servicing every paying customer! Also quick to ask if you want to cash out as her shift is ending… not gonna get tips or return customers with terrible service like that! Sure hope they don’t have to split tips because the other bartenders deserve so more since they do the work while she stands around! Also heard her ask how to make a VO Manhatten with a bottle of VO in her hand… not what you want to hear while at a bar!

I returned as I really enjoyed my previous visit. This visit, a few weeks ago was un-​eventful. It was on a Monday night for the all you can eat ribs. I got there at 5 PM, and saw that they had a blueberry BBQ sauce. Wow, this could be my lucky night? WRONG, as it was «86», and I was the first customer, for dinner. The rib quality went downhill after each re-​order. My fries were ok. I really enjoyed the slaw. There are better places for «rib night», in Berks County. I also noticed the increase in cost of the rib special, as I called a few days before. Good thing that I had extra cash with me. Service was top notch!

I love The Pike. It’s one of my favorite places «where everyone knows your name». If you’re a regular (hand raise) they address you by your name and are always friendly. (In the last 7 years I’ve had maybe one or two bad experiences — I go there a lot.)
A few if my faves, the chicken quesadilla with extra black olives, the loaded nachos (yum!), and the blacked chicken pasta dinner. Wings are great, strombolis great.
I’ve seen some turn over in staff but they are still a decent group of servers regardless.
The menu is a little pricey for the area but it’s worth it and they’ll take care of you.

Micro beer selection good both tap and bottle. Bartender smiles but started getting busy so didn’t have time for conversation. We both ordered the crabby burger mine med rare his just med mine came out med his well done. We weren’t asked how our food was til my boyfriend pretty much devoured his. This is not our part of town just stopped in for a gift certificate for my parents.

I had one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten and awesome fresh cut fries. They also have $ 2 coors light which doesn’t hurt.

I’m from Bethlehem pa. Best cheese steak; I had in years… Mike u could do well in Bethlehem. …nobody understands good cheese steaks here… thank you for the best steak sandwich I had in years :)

The Pike Café has a cool setup. It’s a sport bar, for sure. Hey, it’s baseballtown right? It has all the necessary elements to make watching a game, match or race a fun experience.
The food was decent from what I tried. It offers daily specials so checking out the website prior to going is a good idea. The menu offers both basic bar food and other more complex options.
The place offers wi-​fi and has a lot of TV’s for ultimate viewing. They have a off-​street parking lot so it is very convenient to get in and out of.

Went here for valentines day. Was pleasantly surprised how good the food was! Liked that there was ample parking. Will definitely return.

Great all around sports pub style restaurant. Have yet to make it any further than the wings and ribs on menu. Very good food! I hear they opened another place Shirley’s Café and Tequila Bar. Can’t wait to see if that is just as good or better.

Came here for the first time last night and the moment I opened the door, damn near everyone at the bar turned around staring me down with a dirty look as if they never seen a girl all dolled up. Anyway, it’s very small and tight. It took the waitress like 15 minutes to get our drinks to our table. (I ordered a Red Headed Slut) The lit parking lot was nice, too bad I didn’t get to actually park in the lit area. I’m not sure if I would go back or not. I wasn’t impressed. Our waitress was very nice and friendly considering how packed it was. And I wish that the entrance was better lit.

Went here for dinner, they make a great burger. The sports fans seemed to enjoy the games on all the tv’s. Would go back again

It’s a family sports bar, good food and drinks. Although in a seedy part of Reading (what part isn’t) you feel safe with a well lighted partially covered, camera scanned parking lot. Service is great and the staff friendly. Gives hope to a dying city.

It took my boyfriend probably about a year to convince me to have a try at this joint. I don’t like the reading area, and I didn’t like the fact that this place doesn’t have booths (I am very weird).
Finally, I agreed. And I am so glad that I did! The food was ridiculously good — I mean REALLY good, probably one of the very best in Reading. The prices cannot be beat, it’s very inexpensive for the quality of the food.
The beer list is awesome also! They have all different specialty beers brewed in and around the Reading area. Also — a big reason I mentioned earlier that I never really wanted to visit this establishment was because of the area, itself.
The other great thing about this place is they have a huge completely lit parking lot two feet from the front door. It is COMPLETELY lit and when you go inside, you can see they have security cameras set up all over it. That made me feel much better about visiting, and even though I just gave in 2 weeks ago to TRY this place… we have already been there twice, and we will continue to do so. This might become our new «go-​to» Friday night spot!

I stopped in the Pike for the first time in over 10 years (moved out of town). I had been craving the wings ever since I moved. It was a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of room for our group of 6. The food was good and the drinks were cheap. I don’t know if the wings were as good as I remember but they were still good. My only complaint was that our server seemed a little overwhelmed with too many tables. There were a few times we had trouble flagging her down for drinks. Oh well, we had a good time.
