I went here for a wedding! It was awesome! The event was outside. It was beautifully decorated. The food supplied was delcious– pork, macaroni and cheese, salad, etc. All delicious. The people were very friendly! The environment was really awesome. Inside was dated but a lot of cool history on the walls.

This place is always a blast. Great German food choices, you can tell the membership and staff go out of their way to keep things fresh, there’s always something fun going on at the Liederkrantz. the atmosphere and people make this place one of the best destinations in Reading area. Worth the cost of membership.

I am from California and visited friends in Reading who brought me here. I loved this place! It’s a social club that you have to be(or know) a member to enter. We went on a Friday night after Thanksgiving. The place was hoppin’! The bar was lively and friendly. It was so busy that we sat in the dining area at first. The food is amazing! I have the jaeger schnizel and spatzel which was so tasty. I loved evey bit of it. The servers are great. They have live German music played by Kermit. He is tireless and makes it so festive. Special Note: Reading has the 4th largest Octoberfest at this location.

I, like the young lady reviewer before me, also run the races that end at the Liederkranz. This is a German(beer-drinking) social club nestled in the woods above Reading, PA. Just a short distance from the Liederkranz is the(not so) famous(brick) Pagoda and up the hellish mountain that we run upon. The people are always friendly, the beer is silly-cheap, and always good imports on tap. I’ve heard the festivals they have are quite the going on. Perhaps I’ll check it out sometime. Thank you Liederkranz for opening your doors to us, even when muddy, bloody and sweaty.

I run a ton of races that end at the Liederkranz. This place is great for a post-run beer and the bar staff really hustles. Excellent German beers and very reasonable prices. Also, the club members are so very kind to us runners/non-members who are taking over their club for an afternoon.
