Raytown Animal Hospital

Seems to treat OWNED pets well but refuses to work with rescues that want to take stray pets brought to him via his contract with Raytown animal control. Quite a few instances of him leaving animals untreated for weeks before he kills them. Recently killed a dog that had rescue SECURED. If you are a homeless animal in Raytown and you make it into his facility, odds are you will not make it out!

This man will put your cat down if he sneezes. He’s into horses and isn’t apt to work with them, so he does small animal. He’s put down numerous cats and dogs because he’s always in a hurry, never time to actually care for an animal. Do not bring your animals here.

Now, I’ll consider this review to be a little bit biased, as I live across the street from this hospital and I adopted my 3 year old Beagle, named Gabby from their Animal Shelter next door to me. But nonetheless, if I lived 50 miles from this animal hospital I would still take my animals here, they are fantastic!
Dr. Rose and all the staff really care about your pet, and they show it! I have literally just walked in before when my cat was having anal gland issues and I thought she may have worms, and they saw her right away. Their services are fairly priced, and they really listen to you and give you sound advice. When I first got my beagle, I called them multiple times (just like a panicked new mom haha) and they listened and gave me reassurance.
They also have an animal shelter in a separate building, and the strays there are all really well taken care of. They have two roomy «kitty rooms» in front and kennels for dogs in the back, as well as a huge backyard for the dogs to get some exercise. All of the animals they adopt out are fully vetted and fixed.
If you live nearby, and need a vet, this is the place to go.
