Specialties

The mission of the YMCA of Rapid City is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Consequently, the YMCA is a membership association that brings men, women and children of all ages, abilities, incomes, races and faiths together for the common purpose of building strong kids, strong families and strong community. Please note that because of the strong belief in being a center to be enjoyed and accessible by all that no one is turned away due to inability to pay.

History

Established in 1962.

For 60 years the YMCA of Rapid City has served the community by providing programs and services to meet physical, social, mental and spiritual needs. This rich history began with a small downtown building and has expanded to a presence around the city. Today the YMCA of Rapid City has grown to include the LaCroix Links Golf Course and four Youth Outreach Centers in the community. You won’t need to look very far to see YMCA success stories involving members of all ages. Stop in for a tour anytime and let us share the YMCA mission with you.

Meet the Manager

Bryan K.

Manager

Bryan began as the Communications Director for the YMCA of Rapid City in January of 2012. With over 12 years of experience in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design and Photography, Bryan is building the framework on which we tell our great story.

Bryan began his career in design and marketing after earning his degree in Photography and New Media from the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City Missouri in 2002. As a South Dakota native, he understands the community that we embrace and the challenges at hand. With a solid year of working with the YMCA community under his belt, he strives to move our communication efforts to the next level. His work can be found all around the YMCA from the artwork in the Randy Travis Wellness Center to the pages of the seasonal program guides.

As a professional photographer and artist, Bryan works alongside the YMCA’s Youth Institute program to teach his skills and professionalism to high school students with their eye on a career in the arts.
